All right, my friends, welcome to the Drew and you'd podcast. I'm excited you are here. We got our dear friend, soul family, for sure. My girlfriend Bailey and I are in the presence of greatness. Valerie Jacobson. Welcome to the Dru and you'd podcast.
Thank you so much. It's so nice to be here.
Yeah, we. We hit it off. Our good buddy Nathan, who's this holistic OB gyn, introduced us, and he was telling me about some of the remarkable stuff you're doing in the world in regards to Chinese medicine, in regards to helping people break free sexually, spiritually, mentally, all the things. And I thought, what a better way to have the podcast than to have you come on. So thanks for joining us.
Thank you so much. It's so nice to connect with people, especially in this, like, serendipitous way.
Yes. Yeah, you. Over the past three years, if we've learned anything, it's that your vibe attracts your tribe and people that are on the same train as you, they're just going to come to you through your vibration, through your resonance, your frequency, whatever you want to call it. And you're living proof of that, and I am as well.
Oh, my gosh. So that isn't true.
Yeah.
And it's, you know, only like, 30 seconds into meeting each other. We know it's in resonance. Like, we bonded over our mutual alpaca.
Yes.
Synchronicities.
Can you guys believe it? We have alpacas. I don't even think the Drew and you listeners have have heard that. We're living on a farm. We have alpacas, so there's that. And Valerie has alpacas. She's living in Michigan, which is where I'm originally from, and she's there. Whereabouts in Michigan, if I was to use my Michigan accent.
We are in Northville, so we are about 30 minutes from Ann Arbor. And it's really our neighborhood that has alpacas. So there are. But they're the neighborhoods as well. Yeah.
Well, that's even cooler.
Yeah. A little community alpaca resource.
Yeah.
So amazing.
It's community is everything. Community is immunity. We love our community here. We're in the process of setting up beef sharing, and we have chickens now, and we're building a greenhouse. So everybody's collectively sharing different goods.
I love it. The beef sharing. When I moved to Michigan, the first thing we did, we were like, we need a herd share. We're going to buy a cow, and that's where we got our meat during lockdown is this cow that we bought.
I love that.
It's just, it's. It's feels like the way humans are meant to live, doesn't it?
Yeah, yeah. Like closer to our roots.
Knowing where your food comes from.
Yeah. And it's so simple.
Yeah. And so symbolic of, like, knowing where your. Your physical embodied power is coming from in the form of food. In the form of like a very literal three dimensional nourishment source.
Yeah. Being connected to it.
Yeah.
Seeing how it was treated biologically, magnetically, etherically, and then consuming the subtle energy of the animal or of the plant.
Yeah.
Which is a whole nother experience versus just devouring something to. To eat it and to be nourished. It's like spiritually nourished is the real deal.
Oh, my gosh. Absolutely. And it's like. Yeah. All those subtle bodies, really, it kind of makes me think of, I don't know if you've ever seen Alex Gray's. I think it's called the hall of Mirrors, the pores. And there are so many beautiful paintings of like, the physical body, the ethereal body, the nervous system, sort of, so to speak. Like.
And when you see all of those, like, that's all part of the whole. Right. And when you see it kind of expressed separately that way, it gives you this greater understanding of, like, every time we interact with our body or the body of an animal, it's not just this physical shell. Like, there are so many layers going on.
It's. It's just.
That's why the power is layer upon layer.
Oh, my gosh.
And just when you think you're there, there's a whole nother there more to unfold.
Another octave.
Yeah. And it's nothing to stress out about, though. And I think the theme of this podcast will be breaking free from any limitations that you've had sexually, mentally, physically. By the end of this podcast, you're going to feel a deep sense of ease, a deep sense of peace. I promise you, my friend. And if you just listen with your heart open and just know, like, you know that you've attracted this information into your life for a very specific reason. We're not your guides. We're not your gurus. We're not even teachers. We're just people just like you. And we want to connect with you at this time because it's a very precious time in humanity's future. And we believe you are the one on the Dru and you podcast. So thank you for showing up. Thank you for being in the you inverse. The universe is inside of you. And we're excited to get started here. So walk us through the journey of Valerie Jacobson. The very beginning. When did you know you were this healer?
Oh, my goodness. Well, I guess I've never.
Used the word healer at the beginning to, to think of myself. However, I. I was certainly on a healing journey. So for much of my childhood, I was. I was what you would call maybe a sick kid. I was always missing school.
And going through various healing crises. And at a certain point in my adolescence, I was like, okay. There was this sort of inner knowing that began to emerge that this is more than just.
Luck. This is more than just something that's happening as a result of my environment.
It felt very connected to, quite literally, like how I was living, how I was moving through the world.
Yeah.
Just.
So when you say you're a sick kid, can you paint a picture for the, the people listening?
Yeah, yeah. So every month or two, a lung infection, a sinus infection, abdominal migraines, or cyclic vomiting.
Were you in Michigan at the time?
Yeah, yeah, I was in Michigan. So. So it was really like many rounds of antibiotics per year.
Perfect.
Yeah. Great. And I vividly remember going to the doctor and saying, how about, like, what about preventatively, like, how can we stop this cycle of, of coming back in here and getting on drugs? And. And I remember they were like, oh, well, that's going to have to be a separate appointment. We're not going to cover that right now. And that separate appointment ended up just being a very.
Non comprehensive set of labs to rule out. I vividly remember they were ruling out hiv.
Oh my God.
They were like, well, your immune system's down, but you don't have aids, so we're not really sure. Take a multivitamin. And I was like, yeah, I know I don't have aids.
Thanks. But that was sort of the response I was getting in the paradigm that I was interacting with the matrix. Yeah, the. The matrix was serving me a very specific.
Set of things. And at a certain point, I had to come to terms with the fact that that is, I was getting exactly what I was going in for. Like, this system is delivering me exactly what they're trained to deliver. So if I want to get something different, I cannot keep returning to this system.
And that's when I found something called naet, which is an allergy elimination method. And through that I found acupuncture, Chinese medicine. And at a certain point in that journey, I realized, wow.
My entire mind, body, spirit complex is in a completely different place. Like, I am operating From a place of taking responsibility for my own healing. I'm not outsourcing anymore. And I think somewhere psychologically, I wonder, like, did I go down this path just simply to reconcile the fact that I can be my own doctor?
And I think that was a big part of my journey. But what I really got out of that was you don't have to go through medical school to be your own doctor.
Yeah.
To be your own healer. You don't have to get all of the credentials and go through nine years of college like I did, to. To feel this sense of self responsibility and freedom with your body and really this like, reverent relationship with not only your body and your health, but also like the way that you are existing in the world and how that correlates to how you're physically feeling.
So unpacking those elements of self betrayal, unpacking disembodiment, unpacking trauma, and realizing that that is the foundation of how you're physically feeling. It's not this set of like far out biochemistry that you have to just study and study to understand. Like, there's so much more going on there.
Yeah. I've been working with a Toltec shaman for like 14 years. And he said when we study, because he knows I'm a book guy, you know, he's a seer. So he just sees. He can see the books I have. And he's like, when you have books and you learn, you make yourself heavy. And if you're heavy, you can't fly.
Wow.
And what he means by that is when you can fly, you are tapping into the Akasha or the negativa, which is you're connected to the infinite everything, and you have knowledge that's beyond time and place. Or I have to check into a certain time to get a degree or this, because all that's illusionary anyway. And the grand Maya is we stack on Persona after Persona after label after label and this and that till we become so heavy that we forget what we really are.
Wow.
And what we really are is these luminous light beings that have. Have the answer already. Your body has the answer.
Oh, my goodness.
And you're living proof of that. Because when you just turn it over and you let go, let God, let spirit, like the true divine healing mechanism that's in you, you can heal anything.
Oh, absolutely. The limit does not exist. There are absolutely no barriers. That's. That is where my belief system is.
Yeah.
This time. And. And it's really amazing that you mentioned this lightness correlating. So. So with the books. I totally relate. I. I have just devoured books. I've always been super studious and. And in Chinese medicine, the overstudying is correlated with the spleen system, which regulates dampness. It separates the clear from the turbid and interesting. When you have a spleen that is overtaxed, it will not efficiently carry phlegm and dampness out of the body. But what that is representing is failure to transform.
The spleen transforms and transport.
I got chills.
Yeah. So failure to transform. You'll be heavy. You'll have this dampness.
Yeah.
And I think even, and maybe even, especially in the academic community, it can be easy to use this reflex to study and learn more as another distraction from feeling something that needs to be felt.
Damn.
Yeah.
Unworthiness.
Oh my gosh. Absolutely.
That's what it all comes down to, I think.
This sense of something that is needing to be rescued or fixed, whether it's within or externally.
Yeah.
Something that needs to be understood.
In order to assimilate, which is also an illusion.
100. I like to say that we are being governed by a bunch of raging psychopaths with mommy and daddy issues.
Oh my gosh. Yes, absolutely. Like Kelly Rogan says, mommy medicine and daddy government. Absolutely.
And if they just really understood that they are, they are loved, they are whole and they didn't need to conquer more. They didn't need to spray our atmosphere with these chemicals and, you know, inject people with these controlling type things. We don't need to go on a rant here. But how much better would the world be if they. They got the medicine that they really needed when they were. They were young. They're not recycling and repeating patterns and entering into an incarnation loop over and over and over again to feel unworthy over and over and over again.
And this like chronic pain loop of outsourcing power. This chronic.
Yeah.
Almost like a compulsion, like an obsessive control compulsion to. To outsource and extract power from. At starting very young age, from.
From school, from your performance in school, indoctrinated into school.
Yes. Getting the reward system just ingrained from your parents, from the government, from whoever you appoint as some kind of hero.
Yeah.
And. And unpacking that is one of the most healing, quite literally physically healing things we can do. It's the primary medicine because what, what is left over is love. You know, like if. If you really come to terms with the truth of the reality that you are loved and your boundaries are intact in such a way that you can honor that you don't need to outsource your power. You don't need to receive this validation from these systems that are telling you that you're good and okay. And as long as you keep believing this and saying this, you're a good little girl. Good little boy.
Yep. We're leaning on men and women for validation when we should be leaning on the infinite, the sustaining infinite that's already inside of us. We're a part of the whole. We're a part of that. That magic. And the more we witness it, as the yogis would say, when we're at one with Brahman and we can be in the void and be out of it, then we're complete. There's nothing you need. There's nothing on this planet that you need to conquer. You don't need control over another human being. You can just simply be.
Wow. That's so beautiful. And this radical acceptance, too. Yeah, this radical acceptance. Like, I think a lot of people have this perception of masters, that they. They are just like this very pure, only perfect, loving.
Resource or energy. And I think what. What is part of that, that a lot of people don't understand is, like, that they. To be a master. You're also in acceptance of. Of the Maya. Like, you're in acceptance of the reality that this is a polarized space that we.
Yep. Limited, finite, decaying.
Yeah.
Time. Right.
So that's not integration. There's that, like, shadow integration that I think is forgotten when we get into this, like, purity kind of culture of. Of like, oh, be Christ. Like. Right. Just.
Yeah.
And. And I. I absolutely have reverence for the energy of Christ. However, this misunderstanding of what that could mean in terms of, like. Oh, yeah. To. To be Christlike, you have to be perfect and pure.
Yeah.
And without any sin. No shadow.
Yeah. And this is the hall of mirrors, you know, like Manny P. Hall talks about. So there's no way you're going to go through Earth school and not have ego moments, shadow moments. If you had no ego and no shadow, you're. You simply. I'd look over and your shoes would.
Be on the ground.
Be gone. You know, sometimes I wonder where Bailey is, because her shoes are just sitting in the corner. I'm like, all right, when's she gonna come back to the Earth plane?
I knew it.
Yeah.
Knew Bailey was.
Yeah. Sentient angel.
Yeah.
Yeah. But I think the reason people are listening is they. They want to feel that. They want to feel connected to spirit always and always. They want to feel the light inside of themselves. But when you're Dealing with a health issue, when you're in pain, when you have a chronic disorder, whatever it may be, or there's a disillusion or an illusion that's in front of you, how do you remember that? How do you sustain that? You got to break free from the physical body, which is why I'm attracted to that. And you first started your life with experiencing so much sickness so that it would open you up to the potentiality you turn your scars into stars, as I like to say. I did the same thing. I was tortured as a kid. And they've heard this story before, but I turned that pain, that trauma into fuel. You know, my message or my. What is it? My mess became my message, more or less. Right.
Yeah.
So let's help the people that are dealing with these issues of the body. Because when we feel free in the body, you feel connected to spirit even more.
Yeah.
And right now, obesity rates are on the rise. First time a generation is going to live less than their parents. In fact, they released something recently, the cdc, of course, Centers for Disease Creation.
That two years was taken off our life expectancy because of COVID Right. We're seeing loneliness. And all these other things are the biggest epidemic. And now they're coming to realize that. Yeah. Long story short, how do we have people age more gracefully, more connected to their bodies? And I know this is your specific type of work.
I read a book a while ago called the Body's Electric, which is all about acupuncture, meridians, different points that they can activate. I know you've also studied German new medicine.
Yeah, yeah, I'm in the process of studying that.
Yeah.
It feels like so. So to kind of speak to your point of so many people being in pain. Right. And this. This tendency to want to escape pain.
Yeah.
Because pain is bad and wrong. And when you're in pain, this idea that it needs to be fixed immediately. I do not subscribe to that because I think part of why we are here is to experience full embodiment. So when we are disconnected from our bodies, when we are acting as if we're in this lifetime, but we don't need to be in a physical shell.
Yeah.
There can very easily.
Kind of arise this fracture between your relationship with your physical shell. And then of course, like, there's a pain signal. And of course there's like, there's more layers to this. But what's really happening, I think foundationally is there's some. Something calling your attention.
Whether it's emotional or physical. I believe that those go Hand in hand, always.
And to fully give it the attention it deserves, we have to practice being in our bodies. And there are so many things in this sort of conditioning loop that we talk about that bring us out of the body. Right.
Like.
Like kids scrolling on TikTok these days. None of them are really rooting into their body school. The trauma response of disassociating, this shame around sexuality, all these things are removing us from our bodies. Um, so I think step one, if somebody's going through something chronic.
Is to experience the pain and get very curious about it.
Lean into it, lean in.
Doesn't have to be in a masochistic way, but just getting really curious.
It can be, though. I mean, if you're into that kind.
Of thing, well, then, you know, then you'd have to be totally responsible for the fact that on some level you're desiring this.
Yeah, well, there's ax throwing, there's shooting guns in the forest, there's yelling into a pillow, there's punching the bag. I mean, these are all good ways to let go of anger and rage.
There's a. Yeah, of course. So that sometimes the message is that there's something that needs to be released.
Right?
Yeah, sometimes there's. There's something that needs to be felt. And if. If you're going to ignore what needs to be felt, then we're going to manifest it physically so you can't ignore it anymore. Right. And. And I think this doesn't only apply to the body. Like, if we're ignoring something that needs to be felt or integrated or realigned. Like, yes, it can manifest in a. In a knee problem, but it can also manifest in this, like, chronic, maybe a relationship problem or a problem with your home and the pipes keep breaking, or something happens in your external world where you get in this cycle of, how did this happen to me? Again, Poor me.
Yeah.
But really, what the message is, whether that's in your body or in your environment, is, okay, there's something to be felt and acknowledged here. And if we can do that, we can more gracefully enter the place of lightness, which my. One of my core beliefs is that life can be. Can be easy. Yeah, Life can be beautiful and light, but it is more work to devote to existing in that place in an embodied way.
Yes.
It's more work to be there than it is to succumb to a victim consciousness. That's very easy to be a victim.
I think attention is one of the greatest resources we have in attention. Antenna. I think we're literally Walking antennas, Right. It has been said that everything in the universe is frequency, whether Einstein said it or one of the other, you know, Tesla said it. Who knows?
Probably.
Who even knows if the history is real at this point? Right. I wasn't there. Maybe I was, but who knows? Who even knows that?
Exactly.
I'm detached. But the antenna, right? And when we're clouded from the mountaintop, looking down is our expanded self is on the top of the mountain. And our lower, you know, the personality that's going through this Maya experience is in the valley. If we're disconnected from that expanded self that's giving us the keys. And those little warning lights on the dashboard of our life could be our physical body. The pain symptom in the knee could mean movement moving forward. Left side, feminine. You know, you can look at symbols in life and really derive a pretty complex and pretty simple algorithm for what's actually happening in your world. And then you can start to work on the internal. But I think the big mistake most people make is I'm going to cover it up with a pill. I'm going to pop this, I'm going to pop that. And then all of a sudden, you're even deeper into the valley and you're more disconnected from the expanded self that's been giving you the directions the whole entire time.
It's right.
Right. It's right there.
It can all be so simple. And when one is embodied, it actually becomes so much easier.
Yeah.
It could be more painful at the start because you're catching up on feeling what needs to be felt.
Breathe that in.
Yeah. Oof. But.
But what it comes down to is like the, the suffering is the, the disconnection, right? It's the disconnection and it's the disallowance of what is here on this plane, what we signed up for.
And it can be navigated very wisely when we have that connection, like you said the antenna.
The right resources will show up when you're open to it, when you actually. When your desire is to be. Well, the right resources, whether it's internally or helpful people around you.
They will show up. And if they're not showing up, I believe that it's time to unpack an attachment that one might have to being in the suffering and being in the pain. On some level, there's a desire there 100%.
And so many people are addicted to the suffering and they don't even know it. It's like you're. You're looking in, trying to save them from their own suffering. Because they're in a pool and they need a lifeguard and you throw them the raft. They don't grab it because they don't even see it. So then you want to jump in. And now you have a weepathon with like 12 people in a room that are all addicted to the vibration of suffering. And then you expand that out even more. You got, what is it, 7.4 billion people that are all swimming in the same pool of suffering. Because media, media Medusa is actually controlling the minds of the collective consciousness. So the only way to pull the collective consciousness out of the suffering is just to be the light and come back home. One of the favorite things I say when my girlfriend and I pray before every meal is. And I say it pretty often, I could say it a lot more, but it's thank you for allowing us to return home. And then feeling that in your body I am here. I am in this now. Now is the only time that exists.
It exists and it doesn't exist. And here we are. And isn't it beautiful? Right?
Oh, that's so beautiful.
Yeah, Yeah.
I think even just the acknowledging the power of prayer. Yeah, right. Like there's this popular thing going around that like thoughts and prayers aren't enough. We need political action. You know, there's this tempting sort of idea of like that's, that's all fake, you know, but to me.
Thoughts and prayers are the foundation toward the action. Like that, that is the concrete that you're pouring for whatever you're going to build, whether that's for yourself or others. But to me that's, that's really tuning the antenna, you know, and that, that's a very self responsible thing to do. When you're approaching prayer from a self responsible place. It's, it's not that you're begging for something that's outside of you.
Yeah.
But it's that you're acknowledging that you're, you're using your thought will indeed to align yourself with something greater.
Yeah.
Or something more.
Expansive.
Yeah. I like to think gratitude is the best prayer. Like, like the old statement. Right. Thank you. The two best words you can say for a prayer. But gratitude is the present day payment for a future of abundance that hasn't come yet. And when we can sit in gratitude, when we can say thank you, we like to go on thank you walks and we just look through. I wrote about it in the Drew and you book. But you see through the wow goggles, like the eyes of wow. And everything you see, it's like wow can you believe this? Can you believe we're here? Look at that. This is amazing. How can it get any better than this? And when you feel that resonance in your body, you become a much bigger antenna, electromagnetic wise. Right. Your heart is a much bigger electromagnetic field than your brain ever could be. So many people are in their heads. I've been in my head most of my life.
Aren't we all?
This guy, you know, being tortured. The first place I wanted to go is my mind. Of course, it was too painful to be in the body. So if you feel that and you're listening to this, we would encourage you, Valerie and I, to return home, be in your body and whatever that looks like for you.
Oh, yes. And it can be. It can be a slow return, and that would be completely. Okay.
Yes.
It can be a walk with your hand over your heart. You know, it can be.
Come on.
It can be. Just asking that body part that feels a little uneasy what it needs.
I love that.
Yeah. What do you need? Like. Like a child, you know, just a gentle. It can be very gentle to return into the body. And I think it should be. I think heal should be gentle and reverent and compassionate, because I believe that our bodies are just as sacred as our consciousness.
Like Alex Gray says, the body is the box that consciousness comes in. And so it's so tempting, especially when there's an awakening happening. Yeah, it's so tempting to want to focus on these sort of upper chakra, this sort of spiritual element to ourselves. And that feels really good, but. And then sort of discarding the material realm, including the body. Right. Like, I don't want anything to do with materialism.
But when we're not rooted in the body, it's. It's more difficult to access our fullest expression. Right. So it's like honoring the body, the way that we would honor our soul is a really healthy practice, I think, while we're on Earth.
I love that.
Yeah.
I'm a big fan of Louise Hay's old work, you know, being a Hay House author and, like, connected to that tribe. And I. When I was, like, 16 years old, I started doing mirror work, and I would just look in the mirror, I'd look into my eyes, and I would just tell Drew, the young Drew, how much I loved him. And I would just sit there in the mirror for, like, 30 to 45 minutes. I love you. Thank you. I love you. I'm sorry. You know, like the ho' opono, ho pono stuff. And literally, you would feel years of subtle trauma Just melt away from you every single day. So mirror work is a slow, gentle, easy way. If you have body issues, stand in front of that mirror, naked, as hard as it is, and just love yourself.
Absolutely, yeah. So beautifully said. And it's that. It's that sort of paradox that the more we come into our bodies and this. This loving relationship with all of our layers, the lighter it actually feels. No, there's this temptation to leave so that we feel lighter. That's a false. That's sort of a false way.
It's almost a version of. Of addiction to be leaving our bodies so that we can feel light. It's a survival response.
100.
So it's. It's okay for a time, but when we're really prepared and ready to come into our fullest potential, it can feel a lot better to. To actually root in.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Now I know you got a lot of juice when it comes to helping women, like, root in, especially with their sexuality. Can we talk a little bit about that?
Yeah. So I. I think there's a lot that the Eastern philosophies have to offer in terms of sort of another lens through which to view sexuality, especially the sacredness of women's sexuality. From our menstrual cycles to our anatomy to how we come into sexual relationship with ourselves and then a partner.
It can be very easy to get into this sort of reductive, sort of separation of. Of sex and sexuality in this culture. Right?
Yeah.
And sex as something performative or like a performance.
Yeah, I've been down that road.
Yeah. And for men and women, really. But there's something in. In the Chinese medicine viewpoint called heart and kidney not communicating. And that is. So the kidney system is related to the reproductive organs. And the heart is, of course, you know, what we would feel intuitively for that to be. And when they're not communicating, there can be problems with sexual impotence, but there can also be problems with fertility.
So 80% of men over 40 are now. They have, like, ED, which is insane. Sperm counts are at a record low from the male side. I can only imagine what's happening to the incubation egg station of women as well. Like, it's. It's kind of fallen off the rails. It's a little bit scary. Right.
There's a lot to unpack there too. Like, there's a. Of course there's the physical element of the pesticides, the foods we're eating.
Wait, there's. They put chemicals in our food. I'm confused.
Well, like, even. Even just, you Know how many times do people eat like something that's seedless, Right. And that's suddenly preferred?
Yeah.
But what is the seed in the, in the fruit? It's the jing. Right. It's the reproductive capacity. So if you're eating like a seedless watermelon, you're eating a watermelon without jing.
So I have seedless grapes on this property.
Yeah.
Should I be ashamed? Do I need to do a healing.
Session, forgiving the grapes?
Oh, we don't have seedless grapes. Okay, okay. Apparently we don't. I was confused for a second.
And this is, this is really. It's not to demonize certain foods, but it's really just to, you know, there's, there's of course, that physical element. Right. We're just consuming things that are not as fertile unless we're very conscious of it. But then there's this metaphysical element. Right. Where we are not only disembodied, which we talked about, but also this idea of the heart and kidney being separate and, and they need to be in communication for there to be healthy relationship, healthy fertility. And what can really fracture. Fracture, that is the use of porn.
Yeah.
Exposure to pornography, whether it's actively using it or, or just being immersed in a culture that is sort of pornographic. Woven in.
Yeah.
And what, what can happen there is the, the heart energy that is really designed to be woven into a sexual experience is cut off.
Ah.
And that can be, can be really devastating for one's own.
Sexual relationship with one's own self. Really?
Yeah.
I mean, that's what it starts with. And then, of course, then becoming partnered. The whole view on sex becomes this, this thing that the body parts are separated from the, the entity, the being itself. So, so unpacking that, I guess bringing awareness, especially in this culture that's considered sex positive. Right. So it's all sex positive. Anything relating to sex, like, there shouldn't be any shame around it. I agree with that. However, I think we need to be discerning in terms of. Instead of just blanketing everything sexual with this sex positive idea.
Yeah.
Really like being discerning on what is actually going on there. Like it. At what point are we doing ourselves a disservice by pretending that.
You know, all of this is sort of this progressive, like.
Liberation. Right. Of, of sexuality, when in fact it's taking us away from the, the potency and power that could be sex and connection.
I agree 100%. It's, you know, we believe very strongly in developing deep, deep, deep levels of intimacy, which is why we love monogamous relationship, right? The deeper you go down, the more you see the divine. I believe, I believe God exists outside of the relationship, but through, through the connection and the unification of two souls, masculine and feminine, you actually have divinity. And I just see spirit expressed so much in some of the characteristics and qualities of my partner. When I'm viewing it with intention, when I'm viewing it with more thoughtfulness, when I'm more present. And I think porn robs, like you said, that of the relationship and giving it up. I can speak to this because there was years where I would look at porn every day as a young man, you know, and then giving it up, not only did I become a lot stronger, more focused.
I hit my goals quicker. But now that creative force of call it an orgasm, when it's built up, when it's intentional, when it's a visual experience, when you're feeling it in your heart is amplified exponentially. And I can understand why. I've also had many dreams of like ancient Egypt and, you know, orgies, happening to travel through time and space and then being in these pyramids and like, whoa, what's going on here? It's an old, ancient practice, but we've forgotten it. We've lost the art of having that type of intention. Like, when's the last time you were focused on a goal in your own life, you know, talking to the listeners that you really wanted to see be made manifest. And you spent seven days building up sexual energy only to have an orgasm on Saturday night with that on the top of your mind while that orgasm is blasted off into, you know, you know, not to get too visual, but that's the power that creates worlds. I believe we're in possession of it, right? God willing. And I believe it's so misused. And if you look at the AI agenda, transhuman agenda, it's really a big component of that. Let's make them numb. Let's numb them with porn. And then all of a sudden, before you know it, you got teenagers wearing haptic suits in a basement, never even in a relationship, getting tube fed some type of biochemical hazardous food, right? Probably Bill Gates is in charge of it. And they're getting off because they're plugged into this haptic suit. They've never had human touch. How much does that suck?
Oh, my gosh, right?
They've never seen love manifested in a relationship because they're addicted to a computer, generating those feelings, that empty feeling inside of them.
It's so sad.
It's sad.
The hungry ghost, you know, exactly. The. It's the fake shell of what God intended. And I think it can be really manipulated. People can be really manipulated to equate sex positive culture with this. Stepping away from painful shame around sex.
Yeah.
And I, I don't. I think that you can, you can remove shame from the equation of, of your relationship with your body and with sexuality while also acknowledging that elements of this so called sex positive culture are, are pretty much anything but it's, it's extracting something out of. Out of what is our most sacred and creative power. It's extracting it and, and really, really kind of we can get in this loop of, of giving our chi, our essence, our jing.
Yeah. For sure.
To this machine.
Yeah.
Right. It's exploit it. It's an exploitation of, of our jing.
Yeah.
And so I think it's really symbolic of where we're at and, and also this awakening like people like you and I, where we can go when we reclaim our jing. We reclaim our reproductive essence, our creative essence. We. We cleanse our intention. We get into relationship with the land, the landscape of our bodies, really.
Yeah.
And, and that can be so powerful, but also requires quite a bit of re. Acclimating.
Yeah.
Just on a nervous system level really getting. It's almost similar to like when you, when you start eating real food and your, Your nervous system is used to this fake hyper beyond. Oh gosh, don't even get me started.
And so for a while you're. Yeah. Your brain is, is still wired to crave fake flavors.
Yeah.
And I had something come in. You know when you're in the shower and you have like a little thing that drops in.
I'm more of a bath guy or bath.
I'm actually a bath person too. We take like so many baths per.
Week, but every night. Oh, it's like a bath ritual best. Yeah.
Baths. Oh my gosh.
Make sure you're using your charcoal filter though.
Oh yeah.
You don't want that tap water seeping in.
Oh no. We're on a. Well, so we have like a million filters. But, but yeah, so like a sentence that dropped in was like the avoidance of pain is not the same thing as pleasure. And also pleasure. Pleasure just for pleasure's sake.
Is not, Is also. It can be abused. Right.
Yeah. The pursuit of pleasure.
The pursuit of pleasure. And also.
This. Yeah. This idea that it's something that we are going after over and over and we actually end up missing the present moment.
Good God. Yeah.
And so I was in the bath and I Think it probably came through because the bath itself was, to me, a way of coming back to balance that day. It wasn't like adding on top. It wasn't like the cherry on top, this, like, pleasure chair. It was like. It was like, this is what I need to survive.
Yeah.
You know, so that's important too. But just recognizing that that's not a substitute for pleasure.
Yeah.
For real embodied pleasure. Right.
And water is a portal.
There's a lot of information in water.
Water and light.
Yeah. It's insane.
Imagine. Imagine how much information is carried through the light.
Could you imagine?
Oh, my gosh.
You could study water your whole life and not know anything about it.
Right. Oh, my gosh. It's. Yeah, it's magical, really.
So sacred sexuality, bringing that practice home, becoming more grounded in your own body being home. These are all things that will benefit your health in a very, very deep way. Profound shifts will start to happen. And listen, if you're a chronic porn user, there's no judgment. There's no, you know, that's your own thing that you're working through. It can be done. I think for me, what really helped in that was understanding that a lot of those shoots, they do satanic witchcraft rituals before, and there's a lot of anchor points in it to where they're literally grabbing your soul for a certain period of time. And also neurochemically, like, if you look at the MRIs of people watching porn, chronically abusing it, and you're wondering why. You're not that focused. You're wondering why. Maybe you bounce around from different jobs, different projects, different mission alignment, different purposes in your life. Really consider that as a starting ground and think of everything that you do, everything that you put in your mind, you become so if you're watching that every day, you are literally absorbing that energy. Some would say it's a lower vibration. Some would say there's, you know, no vibration at all. It's all made up in illusion anyway. But if you're at that point, you're probably not watching porn. So congratulations.
Yeah. Yeah, it's so. And it's such a good point. Like, if. If somebody's out there and that's where they're at in their journey, it's not something that we. We want to say, oh, that's bad and wrong.
Yeah.
What it really is is this invitation to. To see that there's something more.
Yeah.
There's. There's something greater. There's something greater that's possible. There's something that will allow you to Be more powerful and more free.
Yeah.
And it can be very easy to be stuck in an illusion of. Of. This is. This is like the peak. This is the peak pleasure. If I give this up, it'll be a life of no pleasure.
And that's.
That's a lie. That's a complete lie. Quite the opposite.
Yeah.
Yeah.
The deeper you go in partnership, I believe you can get so much more out of life and.
Absolutely.
And understanding what gaps you have in yourself, your own psyche, your own spiritual development, your own physical biological development.
Yeah. And even in the. In the health and wellness community.
I see. You know, there are. There's always room to expand a certain part of yourself. Right.
Yeah.
And it can be very easy to be caught in this very linear mass. Masculine way of approaching health, where we're looking at labs, we're going into supplements like nutrition. That's all good and well, and it's very important to have that element locked in so that our bodies are nourished. But then if we are pretending that's all there is, then we're also doing our bodies a disservice. Right. Because.
There'S a. There's an intimate understanding of, you know, the body that you can cultivate with the. The mind and emotions and external reality. Right. And.
That'S. It's a shame to miss out on that and get hyper focused on one. One element of health.
Yeah. Well, we're at 45 minutes already.
Wow.
So we are cooking, and it feels like we haven't even started yet.
Yeah.
Which is so good.
Exactly what I feel.
Give me your three favorite Chinese adaptogens, superfood herbs that you would recommend and why you'd recommend it to people. Listening to this.
Wow. You know what? I'm gonna answer this question in a different way.
Okay, perfect.
Because when I think about herbal formulas, I mean, they really are. One of the beautiful things about Chinese medicine is that they're. They're customized. And so infrequently do we use single herbs.
Yeah.
They're all working in a synergistic relationship with each other. That's the approach, usually, that Chinese medicine takes.
And what I would probably suggest to people.
People who are seeking an adaptogen or a tonic.
First, of course, to find a wonderful herbalist. But also, like, are you an herbalist? I am an herbalist.
Perfect.
Yeah. But. But. But also, I think what I would offer people is. Is cultivating a relationship with your kidneys.
Yeah. Why the kidneys? Out of all the organs, why the kidneys?
So, yeah, like, whatever. Adaptogen you choose, or whatever herb you end up resonating with.
I think if you develop a relationship with the kidney system, which is sort of a representation of not only the reproductive system, but also this idea of jing, this idea of sort of embodied nourishment in the bones, in the marrow, in the brain, in the spinal cord, our sense of longevity, when we are able to consciously connect with that and then direct whatever herb we're taking to that. That region, the soles of our feet, is the start of the kidney meridian. So that rootedness into earth, that's actually what I would guide people to do.
Root down ground.
Yeah, root down ground. And develop a relationship with the herbs or supplements you're taking and instruct them to. To nourish. Nourish deeply.
Have you ever. Have you read the Anastasia series?
No.
You would love this. But she takes the seeds of everything she grows and she puts it in her mouth so that her DNA can actually help the seed in the ground be formulated for her.
That's beautiful.
And I can see us doing that in the greenhouse that we're building, like grabbing the herds, herbs, the kidney tonics that we'll create. Yeah. And just really developing a relationship with that.
It reminds me of the sort of this, like, metaphorical nourishment from Mother Earth. Similar to how a baby sucks on its mother's nipple.
Yeah.
And how the nipple will actually detect the saliva of the baby and give the exact nutrients and.
Things that the baby's immune system needs.
No. Come on.
Yes. Yes. That's why.
Are you serious?
Yeah. It's so beautiful. So the nipple will really detect exactly what's going on with the saliva. And then when you said that about sucking on the seeds, that almost feels like a version of that with Mother Earth.
Oh, my God.
Yeah.
I had this idea. I gave it away in a business mastermind once, and it was to pee on a strip every day. And then through the process of looking at the minerals and vitamins in your urine, it would then give you exactly what you need for the day.
Wow.
Long story short, I should have had them sign an NDA because somebody took it. They raised, like, 30 million bucks, started this company.
Which is awesome. Good for them, right? I love that you can share ideas like that and make other people money, but at the same point, it's just an idea from a man. Me and Mother Nature already is doing it everywhere. Nature has all the answers. It's, like, already been created. Like, it doesn't. It makes sense to me that a nipple would be able to do that and it blows my mind in the.
Same thing, you know, and we're so, we're so connected. I mean.
Yeah.
The 100th monkey experiment. We.
Exactly.
We will receive the downloads.
Yeah.
On a vaster scale than we can perceive.
Yeah, yeah. That's so cool. So focus on kidneys.
Yeah, yeah. And. And I think there's this level of intuitive selection of food and supplements that is, that can be used when one is embodied.
Yeah.
Before that point, I think it's important to have a guide.
And at least and do a little research.
But, but yeah, I would, I would focus on that and I would focus on, on foods and actually there's a, there's a formula called suwtong that's considered a like popular blood tonic.
Yeah.
But when you look into the classics, the way that it was classically used was, Was incorporating it into like a meaty stew.
Interesting.
So the, the whole blood tonic element, the way it was described to me once was that the herbs are helping you extract that blood nourishing element from the food itself. So when you're taking the herbs isolated from food, it's not the same. So I think that relationship is kind of interesting to integrate as well if. Whether we're taking adaptogens or kidney tonics to incorporate the relationship to our food with the, the tonic or supplement.
So powerful.
Yeah.
I went to an ashram in the south of France and one of the exercises was eating silently. So we'd have these like the pilgrimage of eating and you just sit there for an hour and you would eat a tomato, basil, a little olive oil and maybe a piece of fresh bread or something. Right. But it ended up being the greatest meal that you could ever have because you were so psychically tuned in.
Yeah.
And by the end of being in this ashram, I swear you, your psychic ability, or, you know, whatever you want to call it, your first eye, your sixth eye was blasted right open because you were so tuned in and just taking time to connect to the subtle energy of the food. There's codes in the tomato, there's codes in the basil and the olive oil and all the herbs you're discussing. And if you can just get still enough in your mind, they want to give themselves to you.
Absolutely right.
They want to, they want to dance with humans. But we've been so cut off from that supply that we've just lost our way.
Most people, the aliveness of the food and that's, that's such a good metaphor for that, that discussion of conscious sexuality too. It's, it's really. It's just another expression of being in the body and being consciously very present and reverent.
Yeah.
Whether it's a meal or connection physically with yourself or someone else.
We talked a little bit about, like, Taoist acupressure points.
Yeah, right. Yeah.
Is there anything people can do from home to help themselves with some of these pressure points?
Absolutely. So. So Taoist reflexology is really interesting. And one thing that I think people can take from it is just this. This connection with the seasons. Right. Like, so. So with a woman's menstrual cycle, like the seasons being expressed in each stage, and then also looking at things like, for example, the cervix is the Taoist reflexology point of the heart.
Yeah.
So that speaks to that heart kidney connection we were talking about earlier.
But just having that awareness that there are so many subtle connections in the body. Like the body parts are not isolated and separate from. From each other.
Like I said, the. The reflexology of the kidneys, the bottom of the feet. Right. So connecting our essence, our reproductive essence to the earth, the fertile earth. So. So really getting a sense of the. The geometric center of the body being the reproductive. Well, and sitting with that.
Yeah.
I think. And then also observing how it. How it feels, how it shifts, how it changes with the. The landscape of earth and recognizing that there's this inherent connectedness.
Whether we want to see it or not. But with the. The seasons.
The. The Chinese calendar recognizes, like, 24 seasons. So it's a lot more complex.
Yeah.
Than. Than the four seasons we see here. But even just like allowing yourself. Yin time in the winter phase of your menstruation.
Yeah. Withdrawal.
Letting it go.
The red tent.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. And then like ovulation. This summer energy. Right.
Yeah.
And. Yeah. Seeing it within and without. And then. And then honoring, like, this innermost part of a woman, which she often has, like, scraped on a pap smear. Right. Like in this very sort of robotic. And like what feels to me like a transhumanist kind of.
Performance.
This idea that women have to go in and get their cervix scraped every year or every few years. Right.
Yeah.
And that's an un. Kind of an unpopular thing for me to be talking about. But what I. What I see there is there's this disconnectedness from the sacredness of the cervix. Most women aren't. Aren't touching their cervix. They're not in connection with their cervix. And often the only touch that they are getting is this ethanol oxide swab.
From their doctor, which is terrible.
Which is just. It's also carcinogenic in itself.
Yeah, of course.
And this is not to induce fear or to tell anyone how to approach their health care, but. But just examining, like, what is going on there.
Yeah.
Really, like, are I. I know of someone, I know of many women who feel very emotional when they, like when they have a Pap smoke mirror. And it's like, yeah, of course. It's the reflexology point of the heart.
And to me, that makes sense that nature designed it that way, because that is the gate that sperm is going to be going through. If you're with your beloved, like, that's really who should be touching your cervix and. And yourself. To me, that feels right. To me, that feels.
Like a reverent way to be in communication with this. This heart portal, really.
I had an experience with a Western doc recently over a UTI thing, and it was devastating. Like. And I'm prepared, mentally prepared. I don't know what he's gonna throw at me. But before you know it, a simple UTI that I'm dealing with is now the cause of concern for getting MRI scans, getting CAT scans, 15 different blood draws. And the guy reminded me of, you know, the little guy, and I think it's Lord of the Rings, but he's like, okay, now I'm going to draw even more blood as he, like, comes out of the back, like, dropping all these, like, fear tactics on me. And then I get on the phone with my, you know, we love this Chinese medicine doctor. But I get on with her and she just laughs, chuckles. She sees it all, you know, and of course, my don, who I've been working with, he laughs, he's like, you take way too many supplements and you just, like, we can be so stubborn as humans, chasing after something that we think is going to help us because it's deemed white coat Ph.D. this and that. And if we just listen to that sacred innate wisdom, we would probably avoid many of those consultations.
Oh, absolutely. And all of that is really an example of, like, when we get stuck in the mind.
Right, Exactly.
In the mind, this rat race of, like, we have to know more, we have to prod. We have to know exactly what's going on at all times for us to be safe. And that's. That's a lie as well. I mean, that's an illusion. Yeah, that's one way of approaching life. And people are free to do that. But then what I feel is lacking is this offering of another way. Right. So it's like, sure, if you want to engage with the system in that way and that feels right, go right ahead. But what I stand for is this sort of permission. Not that anyone needs permission, but I feel really aligned with this idea of if, if that's not resonating with you, if you don't want to go down that path, there are others. And it's a very kind of jarring like.
Confrontation sometimes with, with what it really means to be responsible for your body and assess your own risks. Right. So that takes practice, but it's available and it's yours. And it doesn't make you a bad boy or girl to not go to the experts necessarily. So it's an option for people.
Yep.
It's an option to make your own system. And I don't believe that that's a reckless thing to do. I believe that we've been conditioned to see it as reckless.
Yeah. Ten years ago I made a video on YouTube, FitLife TV, and I was talking about the board of advisors for my body. So just like in business, we have experts that we would go to. And with your body, you know, you being the primary CEO of this business, the body, but also having a Chinese medicine doctor, a functional blood medicine doctor, a spiritual healer, like somebody who's into that. And then also you may be a western doc that has an open mind.
Yeah.
And then consulting them once a year, you know, just looking at it. And also learning how to read your own blood. Even better, looking at your own stool. You know, I've been known to have a microscope in my house and I'm not afraid to go there, you know, so it's important that you become self care is healthcare.
Yeah.
And become sovereign. Learn everything there is about this miracle multi dimensional suit you call your body.
Yeah. And I've met, I've met some incredible MDs, but really what it comes down to is like.
I have made a commitment to myself to work with those who are in alignment with my deepest values.
Yeah.
And I'm, I alone am responsible for that.
And I think creating that sort of pillar will attract the, the right people to you if you're, if you're ready for that in your healing journey. And, and again. Yeah. It's like a, it's a whole team and it's a team that you can consult in your own time. Right. Like it's, it's not something that you have to put it in a calendar every year necessarily.
Yeah.
If. Unless you feel called to do.
Yeah, exactly.
But it's It's. I think we can get in this linear sort of structured calendar view of Health 100, where it's like, oh, every five years you get a colonoscopy, and every three years.
I hope not.
You know, that kind of idea. Right. Of this timetable. And that's what you need to be healthy.
Yeah.
And that's. That's also an illusion. That's a. A way that the mind can feel in control and safe, but when we actually look at the reality, that's not always correlated to better outcomes.
Yeah.
So just coming to terms with that, it requires kind of a shift, but it's a far more empowering place to be, I think, than agreed, than letting someone choose those timetables and choose those board of advisors, basically, for your own body.
It's like going to the mechanic. You know, you go to a mechanic, the wrong mechanic, they're gonna find everything wrong with your car. And a lot of the western medicine doctors are like that. And it's not their fault. Bless their hearts. They've just been indoctrinated into a system that teaches them to do it that exact way.
Absolutely.
So. Yep. Take your power back, my friend. If you're listening to this, and maybe even it's your romantic partner, they've been inspiring you to go down that rabbit hole that maybe you didn't feel aligned with, and now you're halfway down the rabbit hole wondering, you know, wtf am I doing? Take your power back. You are sovereign in your own body. You and I love talking about that. And yeah, hold the line. Hold the line for you. Because you are loved, you are cherished. You deserve to be on this planet at this time. And you're safe. Right? You are safe. So remember that if somebody wants to add you to their board of advisors. Right. As a Chinese medicine practitioner, quote, unquote, healer, maybe we don't like to use those terms on the Internet now, but how do they look you up? How do they find you? Valerie?
My website is silver-maple.org and my email is valerieilver-maple.org Cool. There's an email list and that would be the best way to contact me, but.
And we'll leave it in the show notes, too.
Perfect.
And all I gotta ask you this, this is kind of a selfish question for me.
But what book has changed your life the most?
The most. Oh, my.
That's a tough one. I don't know that I can say the most.
But one book that's coming to mind right now.
It'S a very random book. But I'm just gonna trust that it's coming to mind.
Go for it.
It's called. I believe it's called the French Art of Not Trying Too Hard.
Really?
Yeah. And it's. It's this book that I just. It's like a sweet. Yeah, like a sweet, easy read. But I think it's what the world needs a little more of because it's this energy of loosening. Right. Like, we can be so serious, so analytical, and just trying, trying, trying all the time. Whether it's with our health or our career or a life or a relationship, whatever. And I actually love this. This. Yeah. French art of not trying too hard. This sort of like, loosening.
Yeah.
And surrendering. And there's so much power in that. Right. Like, just being consciously present, but not, like, forcing the peg into the hole all the time.
Exactly.
So that's actually one of my absolute favorite books.
I can tell you've applied this to your life, because I know if you're listening to this, you can hear it in your voice. You're very relaxed. You're very grounded. And.
Yeah. Interesting book. The Subtle Art of Not Trying.
It's actually. It's called the French Art of Not Trying Too Hard. And the reason I picked it up is because it has a snail on.
The COVID Oh, my God.
And I just, like, love snails, I think. I think they're so cool. And the snail is what's painting the title, you know? So it's. It's just this permission to release and surrender and just be your own flow, which I just totally align with.
Even the snail is carrying around a lot of baggage, though.
That's true.
Everywhere they go, they're taking their whole house, Everything. They belong. Right. It's got to be a lot of work.
Very damp.
Yeah, a lot of damp. Heat. Chinese medicine. We may not want that.
It's so funny. But, yeah, I mean, you know, I think every. Every animal has a little totem wisdom.
100.
And I love the slow ones.
Yeah.
I love snails. I love sloths.
Slow down.
So, yeah, that's a great book. And it's one that I think every time I recommend it to someone, they're really delighted and, like, kind of. It's a little breath of fresh air.
Yeah. We'll have to read it. And if you've ever been to France, like, you fall in love with French people, because most of them, they just don't care. It comes across as sometimes brash and a little uppity or sometimes even rude. But we're not used to that in Western, you know, people pleasing, especially California. I just got to make everybody happy. I gotta, you know, please other people even before myself here in.
Oh my gosh, Southern California codependency.
Yeah.
There's such a refreshing honesty in that kind of like looser.
Yeah.
Way of being. And, and that, that less fawning, right? Yeah, there's less fawning. And. And I think that feels really disarming to me.
But nonetheless, thanks for coming on. This has been so fun, so easy, so effortless and beautiful. We hope that our intention of creating more freedom and liberation in your life and more sovereignty with everything that you're going through, everything that you're up to was complete today. Valerie and I also hope that by listening to us, you feel that there's more like minded people in your world, so you're not going at it alone. I know there's a lot of that out there right now. So you were family, you're at home with us. Thank you so much for listening and we love you so much.
Thank you so much.
