This YouTube interview (A Veteran's Journey to Wellness Part 3) features Dr. Joshua John-Ram Schacter speaking with a patient about their experience with a PRP procedure. The patient was initially unfamiliar and skeptical after two years of trying treatments, trusted Dr. Schacter enough to try PRP, and found the injections less painful than expected despite warnings of extreme pain.
The procedure. When Michelle started the injections, of course, I braced for that. And it wasn't too terribly bad. I thought it was going to be actually worse.
What kind of concerns did you have prior to our PRP procedure?
I wasn't that familiar with it. At that point of two years of trying different treatments, you start getting skeptical. And so when you hear something that's not. Not a surgical procedure, I hadn't really heard too much about it, but I was optimistic. I trust Dr. Schacter. Knowing him for so long, I thought I'd give it a go, but I wasn't very sold that it was going to do much.
And what was the procedure like for you?
Not too. You warned me it was going to be extremely painful. And so during the procedure, when Michelle started the injections, of course I braced for that. And it wasn't too terribly bad. I thought it was going to be actually worse.
And we're working on getting that less painful. There's some techniques that we're adding into our protocols, and I'm hoping so even your next one will be even more comfortable.
