Insurance companies are not always interested in helping you to get well. One of the biggest questions I get from a lot of patients who are interested in our wellness program is is this covered by my insurance? And unfortunately, it's a complicated answer. Some of the medications we prescribe are covered by some insurance programs, but most are not. And one of the things I like to explain to patients is insurance companies are not always interested in helping you to get well. Dr. Schachter and I worked for 15 years in a hospital based clinic where we strove to help provide the best care for patients. And we were only able to offer treatments and medications that were covered by insurance, didn't always meet the patient's needs. And while we may have been able to fix a broken bone or replace a joint, the patients never really got their best care.
