A short YouTube presentation by Dr. Joshua John‑Ram Schacter describing the wide-ranging personal and systemic impacts of chronic joint pain (physical, psychological, activity/sleep, cascading joint problems) and outlining Pinnacle’s approach using ‘holistic orthopedics’—assessing joints plus systemic inflammation, hormone balance, lifestyle, and activity—to help patients reach peak wellness.

As we know, chronic joint pain can affect so much of our lives. We can have frustration, depression, and inactivity. This can lead to weight gain. This can lead to problems with other joints. And in fact, I very commonly see problems with other joints to include. You know, I saw a patient today who has been dealing with hip issues. He came in talking about how his knee has begun to bother him. Well, this can occur for a number of different reasons. The hip can affect the gait, which changes the way that you use the other joints, and can make them painful. It can also set up a chronic inflammatory response in that extremity, which then obviously doesn't necessarily spread to the other joints, but can make them more likely to become chronically inflamed as well. And then it can also cause mental and other physical problems. So chronic joint pain can be a major, major issue for our patients and for anybody in the general population. Anybody who's experienced just a small amount of joint pain would know that chronic joint pain can affect everything that we do in our lives, from our sleep to our activities and our work. So that's one of our goals here at Pinnacle, is to help patients deal with this chronic joint pain in safe, advanced ways. Our goal is to take our patients to the peak of wellness. And. And we do that by applying the principles of what we call holistic orthopedics, where we take and we assess not only the patient's joint, but we also assess their overall health, their amount of systemic inflammation that may be in their body. Hormone balance is very important for managing chronic joint pain, and overall activity and lifestyle is extremely critical. And so these are all things that we want to look at when we apply the principles of holistic orthopedia.
