Joyce describes going from 30 minutes at her computer to pain-free workdays and caring for her horses twice daily. Dr. Joshua John-Ram Schachter documents her recovery in this interview about regaining function and daily life.
I just like to do a lot of things on my computer. I wasn't able to do that before. I could maybe do it for, yeah, maybe half an hour if I was lucky, and then just have to get up and.
So what's your life like now, Ms. Joyce?
Well, my life is a lot better. Almost totally pain free. I have horses, so I go out, I feed them every day, twice a day. I take care of everything out there, which I was doing before, but in pain. So now, yeah, it's much better.
And so what. What can you specifically do that you weren't able to do in the past?
Well, I can sit at my computer now. I like to be on my computer. I don't know. I just like to do a lot of things on my computer. I wasn't able to do that before. I could maybe do it for maybe half an hour if I was lucky, and then just have to get up and leave it. So that's one big improvement in my life.
