All right, well, this is the very beautiful Edith. Edith, could you give me your full name, please?
Edith Townsend.
Wonderful. So are you comfortable giving me your age?
65. I'm embracing it. I feel great. I feel 20 years younger than I did before I started the wellness package, and I'm retired. I Was a little leery if I was gonna make it that last year or so, because I was having so much pain and just tired all the time.
Yeah, so tell me, tell me a little bit more about what your life was like before you started with us here at the clinic.
Basically, I worked and I went home and just exhausted, I just hit the couch and that was pretty much it. Didn't really have energy to do a whole lot.
How did that make you feel?
Rotten, rotten. I hate being sedentary. I've never been sedentary in my life, so it was really a tough, tough time for me.
Why is it important to feel better?
Just enjoying life, seeing the grandkids, going out and doing things, and just feeling, well, not feeling your age, just being able to enjoy life again. Quality over quantity any day of the week.
Right. There's all of these— there's all— there's these influencers that are talking. Bryan Johnson talks about living to be 160.
Um, I don't want to go there.
Yeah, our philosophy is quality over quantity.
Right.
Good quality lifespan.
Yes.
Exactly. So what's your life like now?
I get up in the mornings, I go walking between 2 and a half 4 miles a day. Just have good meals, able to get out and cook again. Don't eat out much, just cooking and enjoying my afternoons, going to the gym, working out. It's been great.
What are you able to do now that you weren't able to do before we started?
Everything, whatever I want to do.
Yeah.
Before, I just didn't have the energy, and now it's, uh, after losing some weight and, and getting everything— I say everything fixed. I had the 2 hip replacements, that helped, but I really don't think I would have made it to the end of my work at 65 to be able to retire if I hadn't gotten involved here at Pinnacle. Yeah, that's beautiful.
That's wonderful. Thank you for that.
Yep.
So what had you tried before coming to Pinnacle Integrative Orthopedics for our metabolic work? What did you try in the past?
Well, years ago we were doing P90X, and that was great, and I felt great at that time, but weight-wise and energy-wise, And I'd try it while I was working and I just didn't have the energy to do it anymore. So like I said, once I started losing weight and getting active again, it's just truly changed my life. I love that.
What made you finally want to decide to get help?
I did, well, for work I traveled a lot. Being on an airplane all the time and just driving, I could not drive from here to Dallas without taking a break, getting out, walking around because I hurt so bad. So I mean, that's what, 2 hours? I couldn't sit for 2 hours at a time without hurting, so I had— I knew I had to do something.
That's amazing. Just your journey with the pain, I think, has been a really— tell me about your pain, the pain that you had before and how it resolved after we started our treatment.
Oh man, I was taking ibuprofen or Tylenol all day, every day, just really, just really struggling. It'd wake you up at night. Couldn't get a good night's sleep, so you never really felt rested. But like I said, once, you know, I did the— and I'm awful with acronyms, so y'all gave me some shots where you spun my blood and—
Bone marrow aspirate.
Yes.
Stem cells and PRP.
Yes, I had that done and that helped. That got the ball rolling for me because I wasn't hurting all the time. And then I was able to do all the work for my job that was required. And so that made a huge difference. Yeah.
Yeah. So you've been involved in the full Pinnacle Method. You know the full extent of our program, both from the regenerative side, the stem cell side, and then also from the metabolic wellness and longevity side.
Yes.
What has really made the biggest difference in your progress, do you think?
I think the weight loss.
Yeah.
That really had a huge impact. Yeah.
Yeah. How long did it take you to see some improvement when we started working together?
Well, when I started the shots, I would say maybe a month. 6 weeks after that first shot, and then it lasted, so I didn't even have to use the other shot till later on, and so that worked out well. That got me through that year where I could not be off work. We had a lot of things going on.
Yeah.
Um, and then the weight loss part of it, I mean, it was maybe a month and I started really Feeling better and getting some good energy going.
Amazing. Yeah, you've only gotten better.
Yeah, that's it. Yeah, my sister's walking 6 miles a day and I'm, I'm up to 4, but I'm trying to get to the 6.
That is incredible.
Yeah.
What's your favorite part of our program?
Uh, well, I like the fact that you, you take good care of it. Uh, yes, I have the weight loss stuff, but You make sure my blood work is good. The hormones, oh God, after my first hormone pellet injection, I felt 20 years younger. I mean, that just really, I didn't think about that earlier, but I would say that was the highlight. That along with the weight loss, I felt like a new person. That's great.
What do you find the most challenging? What's been the most challenging for you?
Staying in the house during the week, not, not being on the go all the time. That's been pretty challenging, but I'm finding ways to resolve that.
Staying out and active. What's the most surprising thing that you learned about yourself and your health over the past, what, 24 months that we've worked together?
I would say, I, you know, of course you see how your parents, when they're aging, how their life goes, and, and all your family and friends, and it was like, I did not want that. I did not want to be sedentary and hurting all the time, and I wanted to get out there. I want to see things and do things and live life. Uh, You know, I've worked all my life, so now I'm ready to play, darn it. Yeah, I want to have a good time.
Why is it important to, to, to, to play and to live so, so fully after doing all of this work for your whole life?
Oh, it just, it's just a world of difference. It makes everything so much better. I mean, it, it's all worth it. I mean, you've got God and family and friends and Just embrace it and run.
Community.
Yeah. Community.
What would you tell someone considering the Pinnacle Method here at Pinnacle Integrative Orthopedics? It's an investment.
It is.
It's an investment not just of your hard-earned money, but also of your time and intention.
Right, but you know, you can go shopping and you can buy stuff and you just collect stuff and it just sits there. You know, if I'm going to invest, invest it on us, on our bodies and our minds so we can just keep going.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That's beautiful. Anything else that you'd like to share? Joy, excitement?
Oh, just I'm so thankful I found you guys. And I— the first time I met you, I don't know if you remember, you were replacing my sister's hip. And you came out and told us she came through the surgery well, everything was done, and you had an OU bandana on. I said, well, it's not bad considering. So no, it's just been a good journey.
Wonderful. And we're so happy to be here with you. We're so grateful that you've made these choices and these changes in your life, and I'm excited to see The, the next steps for you.
Yeah, I'm anxious.
Thank you so much.
