A short patient testimonial by Keith Vaughn (age 58) describing a sudden knee injury after rising from a seated position, progressive failure to improve over days/weeks, decision to seek care, and an outpatient procedure performed by Dr. Schachter that substantially reduced pain and restored mobility. Vaughn reports near-complete recovery: normal walking, improved sleep, minimal lingering pain under stress, and satisfaction with the surgical outcome.

I'm Keith Vaughn and I am 58. I couldn't walk very good. I had a incident getting up from being seated on a garage floor. Very quick move to not being able to walk real quick. Just painful. And something had to be done. It just didn't get any better. I thought, I'll give it a week and see if things improve. We didn't do any good. So I thought, well, we'll give it two weeks. Still no good. And I asked around. Friends of mine explained what I had done and they were.
Pretty much convinced that I had torn something in my knee. So I thought, yeah, I better have it looked at. My biggest concern was that I would go through all of the trouble of the procedure and all the downtime and all the pain and then it not really make much difference. I trusted Dr. Schachter to do a good job. Didn't know it was going to be so much outpatient wise it was pretty quick and easy. I can do pretty much all the walking I did before. I don't have any trouble sleeping like I did before. Don't really have any pain that is lingering. If I stress it, I might have a little bit, but I don't really have any problems. I was asked what my pain level was and I was like, well, is there anything under one? Because I really don't have any pain right now. And what happened to my knee was something that couldn't be completely fixed, but they got it as close as possible and that's working out real well so far.
