A short YouTube video (speaker: Dr. Joshua John-Ram Schacter) warning about risks of major knee surgery. The speaker emphasizes that larger incisions lead to more scar tissue (which can cause long-term pain and numbness) and cautions that hospitalization increases the risk of acquiring illnesses and complications requiring readmission and therapy. The overall message is that hospitalization and major incision-based knee surgery carry avoidable risks.

When you have a major surgery, you're in the hospital. Hospitals are where people get sick.
You can avoid having a big incision, knee incisions. The larger the incision, the more scar tissue. Even when we do these minimally invasive surgeries, you still develop a lot of scar tissue. Scar tissue is painful. You can have numbness that'll last forever or years. When you have a major surgery, you're in the hospital. Hospitals are where people get sick. That's a bad thing. When we have to go into a hospital, it increases our risk. And then if we have a complication, we go back into the hospital. And that hospital, love see you once you're admitted to the hospital after joint replacement, they know again, hey, this person is most likely going to need to come back. They're going to have to come and do therapy with us. They're going to have to come back and see us. If they have a complication, we get to take care of that. We're going to have the medicines and all these things. So hospitalization is something we want to avoid, especially now when there's so many things that we can get sick of in the hospital.
