Hi, I'm Dr. Tevan Organisian, practicing at Beverly Hills Dental and Health Wellness Center. Sleep apnea is one of the disorders and sleep disorders. And one of the most common sleep apnea disorders is called obstructive sleep apnea which I'm going to talk about it. Sleep apnea is inability to breathe and depleting the oxygen level in your body. Usually people they experiencing at night gasping, snoring, headaches in the mornings, waking up in the morning feeling very tired or excessive sleepiness or fatigue. Treatment modalities are following. Usually they get cpap but a lot of times those patients they cannot tolerate to CPAP because it's very discomfort for them to sleep with the cpap. And one of the things is as we dentists, we do is scan all the teeth, upper and lower jaw and then from there we just go ahead and produce this kind of appliance which is similar to orthodontic retainer. It's very clear, invisible and very comfortable. And then this wears over the teeth upper and lower jaw. So what this does is protrude lower jaw forward and it opens up the airway so patient be able to breathe comfortably. Most important thing, this has no any metal because we practicing metal free dentistry and is a BPA free devices. So when patient goes through the treatment eventually so they get this overall feeling good, feeling very energized and losing weight and they feel happy.
