Dr. Sanda Moldovan explains that your mouth hosts over 500 microbial species. Dysbiosis, an imbalance that causes bleeding gums and cavities, can be treated with oral probiotics. She shows how to use a tablet form by dissolving it and spreading it across your mouth after eating and before bed.

Hi, everyone. I'm Dr. Sandhya. Welcome to my channel. What are oral probiotics and should you be taking one? So we talked about probiotics, meaning pro life friendly bacteria that's alive to replenish the one that's already in our mouth. In our mouth, we have over 500 different species of bacteria, fungus, viruses and parasites, all living harmoniously together. Or maybe not. When you have bleeding gums, you have cavities. We call that dysbiosis, meaning an imbalance in the microflora or the microbiome. So this is an example of an oral probiotic, and it's specifically designed for the mouth. And you notice it's a tablet, not a capsule. We let this dissolve in the mouth slowly, and then we use our tongue to just sp. Spread it around the cheeks and around the gums. This is very important to take after food and just let it sit there. It should be the last thing we should take at night to give that bacteria a chance to embed itself in the biofilm layer of your mouth. If you have any questions about oral probiotics, you could tweet me rsanda. See you soon.
