But there's a lot going on. There may be periodontal issues, gum recession, cavities, old restoration. That is why if you invest in your smile and get veneers and get that smile makeover, it's extra important to be vigilant about your oral hygiene. Coming in for regular checkups, cleanings, all of that. Flossing is a big thing that's often overlooked. Most of the bacteria in your mouth lives actually between the teeth, not on the teeth. Crushing your tongue is often overlooked. That's another place where bacteria hide. There are things that maybe people don't think about for. For instance, the idea that maybe white wine is better than red wine. However, white wine is still acidic. Anything that's acidic is going to make your teeth more susceptible to staining, change the PH of your mouth. So I would say being careful with what you ingest, staying hydrated, and really just taking care of your overall health, too. Anything you do for your overall health will inadvertently help your oral health.
