A short YouTube monologue by Dr. Victoria Veitzman, a cosmetic dentist in NYC and LA, explaining how aging first appears in the smile (staining, chipping, vertical and horizontal loss of tooth volume) and how that can shorten the lower third of the face, aging it by about 10–15 years. She recommends restorative dentistry to rebuild lost volume and provide soft-tissue support, and emphasizes daily and professional oral-health measures (whitening, regular dental visits, sonic toothbrush, water flosser, flossing, tongue brushing, hydration, and oral probiotics) to keep a youthful smile.

I'm Dr. Victoria Veitzman. I'm a new beauty doctor and cosmetic dentist in New York City and Los Angeles. I'm here to give you the 411 on Smile Anti Aging. The smile is really one of the first places where aging can show up in your body. This can look like staining, chipping, and actually loss of volume. Your teeth lose volume both vertically and horizontally. Over time. This can result in a shortened lower third of the face, which can kind of age your face about 10 to 15 years. The way we deal with that is we do restorative dentistry. We rebuild the volume that's been lost, and we provide a scaffold for the rest of your face. The teeth really provide support for the soft tissue. So a lot of times when patients come in talking about a facelift or other cosmetic procedures, we always recommend getting a smile makeover first and then going from there, because you could probably do less later then. Also, other ways you can keep your smile looking young and youthful is obviously whitening, but also more importantly, taking care of your oral health. That means, you know, seeing your dentist regularly, obviously using a sonic toothbrush, regularly using a water flosser, and flossing regularly brushing your tongue because a lot of bacteria lives there, and staying hydrated and even using an oral probiotic, I think is really helpful because it helps maintain the good bacteria and the bad bacteria in your mouth. So that's my 411 on Smile Anti Aging. Thanks. New beginning.
