A short talk (transcript excerpt) by Dr. Victoria Veytsman about anti-aging dentistry. It explains that early signs of aging appear in the mouth (loss of volume, collagen, elasticity, gum-level changes, tooth discoloration, wear and chipping) and that cosmetic procedures—especially smile makeovers and full-mouth rehabilitations using porcelain veneers—can reverse or reduce these signs, often making patients look 10–15 years younger.

We can often turn the clock back at least 10 or 15 years just with a smile makeover. So when we talk about anti aging dentistry, what we mean is that the first signs of aging often show up in your mouth. Remember, it's one of the most used parts of the body. So what that looks like is your skin loses collagen and volume, but so do the teeth. The bones in your face change, the musculature changes. So what can we do as cosmetic dentists to help the anti aging process or help reverse those signs? So when we talk about anti aging dentistry, we do procedures in the office, like full mouth rehabilitations. We can give back the volume that's been lost with time to sort of reverse the clock. One of the first signs of aging, too, is chipping and discoloration. So these are all things that we address with our smile makeovers. We can often turn the clock back at least 10 or 15 years just with a smile makeover. With anti aging, the mouth is really one of the first places it shows up. And it's a couple of different factors. It's loss of volume, it's loss of collagen, it's loss of elasticity, it's changes in the gum levels, it's changes in the color of the teeth. It might be some wear and chipping, and these are all things that happen with time, and they're normal, but there are definitely things we can do to address them.
