Hey there. Welcome to the High Income Business Writing Podcast. I am your host, Ed Gandia, and this is the podcast for business writers and copywriters who want to earn more and less time doing work they love or better. Client. This episode is a little different and much shorter than usual rather than my typical 45 minute format. Today I'm sharing a quick tip with you and this is part of the regular audio insights that I publish for my private coaching clients. I just thought you'd find it helpful.
So here we go.
I hope you enjoy it.
You know what's truly liberating in this business? Getting to a place where you're not emotionally attached to a prospect, saying yes to your offer or to your proposal. So you do your best in the discovery call with the prospect. You qualify them well, and if they're a fit, you just put together what you know is the best solution and then you send it or communicate it to the prospect. You explain the value, you explain your difference, you explain how you can help them meet their objectives and then you let it go. And sure, there might still be some slight attachment there, but you're willing to detach emotionally. And that doesn't mean that you don't follow up. Yes, you do follow up, and you do follow up diligently, but you don't do it in a kind of scattered and crazy and desperate manner when you can get there. That's freedom. This is not a money thing. Although of course, having strong cash flow and being in a financially strong position in your business, that definitely helps. Above all, this is a mindset thing, something to definitely work toward. So work on getting to a place, work on setting up a business and setting up systems and processes and changing your mindset so that you can start detaching yourself emotionally to having to land this opportunity the moment you have to land it, the moment you have to get this client, get this piece of work you've lost, you're a total disadvantage that puts you in peril.
