How to Stop Feeling FOMO (Hypnosis Session) | The American Hypnotist

In this guided hypnosis recording, the narrator (The American Hypnotist) addresses the fear of missing out (FOMO) by first framing it as a deep‑seated subconscious reflex that cannot be reasoned away with conscious advice. The session then leads listeners through a series of relaxation techniques—deep breathing, progressive muscle relaxation, and a descending‑elevator visualization—to bring the mind into a highly receptive state. Once deepened, the listener is invited to imagine a large room representing their present life, surrounded by glowing doors that symbolize the tempting alternatives that trigger FOMO. By focusing on the details of the current room and asking what can be learned and appreciated there, the doors gradually dim and disappear, reinforcing the idea that the present moment is the only real reality. The script further expands the metaphor with a multi‑self visualization, showing that each alternate door leads back to the same present room, cementing the subconscious lesson that all imagined futures are merely variations of the now. An anchor phrase, “This is the moment,” is introduced for future use whenever FOMO resurfaces, and the session concludes with a re‑orientation count, a brief energizing breath, and a call to action to message the hypnotist on Instagram and explore other recordings. The overall purpose is to re‑program the subconscious response to FOMO, replace it with present‑moment awareness, and provide a practical mantra for ongoing self‑regulation.

Welcome to the most present you will ever feel. In the next few minutes, the constant pull, the feeling that something better, it's happening somewhere else without you, we're going to quiet that all the way down. So here's the truth about FOMO. You can't really talk yourself out of it because you already know the advice on an intuitive level. Everyone says, be present, stop comparing with other people's experiences. People say, just get off your phone. You've already heard this stuff 100 times, but it never quite works. It never quite actually makes an impact on you because the pull doesn't come from the thinking part of your mind, the conscious part of your mind. This is a reflex, the FOMO. It's buried very, very deep in your subconscious, and you cannot reason with the subconscious. You have to reach it directly. And this is exactly what hypnosis can help with, because the best part is you don't need to do anything. You don't have to fight nerves or like force yourself to focus. You're already here, already listening, and you can just let my voice do the work. And I promise you, you will come out the other side feeling a rare feeling that right here, right now is exactly where you're meant to be. That this is the moment, your moment. So right now, find a quiet spot where you can sit or lie down comfortably, and we'll begin. Now let's begin by taking a very big deep breath in and release. Deep breath in and release. Even deeper now. And release. Let all the waves of relaxation start coming into your mind, into your body. With every breath, you can let yourself go deeper and even more relaxed, deeply more relaxed. Just let all the muscles in your body start getting more, more relaxed with every breath. And you'll notice that the more your body gets relaxed, the more your mind relaxes, the Mind and the body becoming one. And as your body, every part of your body gets more relaxed with every breath, you let your mind become more and more relaxed. Feel every part of your body, your head, neck, shoulders, stomach, each part relaxing one by one to the deepest possible level, sinking and floating. That's right. Feel your eyes becoming heavier and heavier and laying them closed down even more deeply, deeply more relaxed. And you can let every breath through the sound of my voice send you even deeper, feeling So, so comfortable. Now take a deep breath in for a count of 4. 1, 2, 3, 4. Hold it and release. 1, 2, 3, 4. Nice and slow now. Deep breath in for a count of 6. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. Hold it. And release. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. Feeling so good, feeling so relaxed. Every breath just sending you deeply, deeply more relaxed. Every word I'm saying sending you even deeply more relaxed. That's right. Every sound you hear in the background taking you even deeper, 10 times deeper. Imagine you enter an elevator and see the doors close and the numbers go down. The elevator takes you even deeper and deeper and deeper. 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1. And the deeper you go, the better you feel. And the better you feel, the deeper you go. Now that you're in this deep, deep part, quiet, of your mind, I'd like you to imagine the elevator's doors open and you're standing in a big, big room. And around this room, you see on the walls, there are so many doors, and each door is glowing. Behind every door, it's somewhere that you're not. Maybe it's a friend's party that you saw on Instagram. Maybe it's a trip that someone you know is taking. It's some event. It's some life that someone else seems to be living and you feel like you're missing out on. Just take a little bit to feel that tug towards each of these doors. Because each of these doors, they pull at you, and this is the FOMO, this is the feeling. Let them glow for a moment. But now, here's the first thing I want you to notice, because this entire time you're standing in this room of your own, right? So first, look around this room that you're actually in. Look at what's here, the objects. Look at the details because you can, you can construct this room however you want. I'd like you to ask yourself, what is in this room? And second of all, ask yourself, what can I learn from what is in this room? What can I learn from me interacting with this very room? And as you construct this room, as you learn from this room, as you interact honestly with everything in this room and explore the room that you're in, something happens to the other doors that surround the room. One by one, they start to glow less and less and less. Until behind them you only see darkness because you've simply stopped wondering what's in them. Because you only care about the room you're in. You're enjoying yourself. You're having fun. You're enjoying life in this very room. You're laughing in this room. You're happy in this room. You're having fun smiling in this room. You're finding the positive parts in the room you're actually in and you're zeroing in on them. Now let's do something that when you're in hypnosis and when you're in this beautiful state, you can do this. You can step into many different realities at once. So I want you to imagine, use the power of your visualization, that there are many selves of you and they are simultaneously spreading from your body in one walking through each of those doors that you used to care so much about just a moment ago. And you just open them and you step inside. But each of these versions of you, when they enter each of these rooms, they're noticing something strange. These are all just carbon copies of the room that you were in originally. You see the same things, you see the same attractions, you're interacting with everything in each of these rooms the same. Because the instant you step inside any of these other rooms, it becomes the here, the now. It becomes that same present moment that you are already in. And I mean, that's the truth that your subconscious is learning right now. Because that light that you saw behind those doors into those rooms, it was just a moment that you imagined in the future. It was not actually real, it was an imagined moment. But the room that you're actually standing in, right, at any time, the default room, the room that's always here, this is the actual room, this is the real room. And you realize this is the moment, right? This is the moment that you can live. It is not a moment. It is not even the present. It is the moment, emphasis on the the. It is the only moment, the only one there has ever been. Now you, you're back in the original room. And you look around at the doors and you watch the doors start to disappear into the wall almost. They're glowing and then they're fading and then they're just gone. And the whole room, it just goes completely quiet to the outside world because nothing out there is calling you anymore. The only room left, it's the one you're standing in. So construct it, build it out, explore it with it, because this is your actual room. This is literally your real life right now. And you watch it fill with light and fill with things and fill with people that you love, because this room, it is the only living— it's the only real true thing there is. It's not any of those other imagined realities, those other fake realities. And this right here, this is the reality that you get to build. It's in this room. I'd like you to ask yourself again in this room, what is here and what can I see here? What can I learn here? What can I appreciate just right here? Feel gratitude if you would like for what's actually in front of you, right? Feel your breath, feel your body, feel your good health, feel this real genuine life. It is a life that you have built at the core and it belongs to nobody except for you. And you feel this sense of pride. It's a pride that you're basically becoming this person who lives their own moment, who lives in the moment instead of watching everyone else's, wishing they were in a future imagined reality, which is actually just a fake reality. And so here's what you're going to take with you in the future. The next time you feel FOMO, anytime you're scrolling on Instagram and you see an event or Someone's telling you how amazing their life is and you feel that old little tug of comparison in your mind. You're going to say a few words to yourself. This is the moment. Not this is a moment, not, not this is the present that you've heard a million times. This is the moment. And instantly you can feel grounded. Because that will be the anchor for you to look around. Notice the colors of the room you're in. Notice the textures. Notice whatever you're feeling in your body right now. Notice what is actually a genuine life experience, right? And in your mind, you'll see those imagined doors in the room. They will just disappear into the wall as you settle back into your real room. That is your life. It'll be instant and it'll be any time you want. You can let this settle deep, deep, deep into your subconscious, right? Just want it to happen, expect it to happen, and you will watch it happen. Now, in a moment, I'll count from 1 to 5 and you will return feeling refreshed with a very deep sense of presence gratitude, and the feeling that you're exactly where you're meant to be right now. And you'll also emerge feeling rested, recharged, very light, as if a huge weight, as if all of this FOMO has completely lifted, and it's as if you forgot it ever freaking existed. One. 1. Every nerve, muscle, and fiber coming alive. 2. Feeling a surge of energy through your fingertips and your toes. 3. Feeling your head washed through with cold spring water. Eyes clear, nose clear, chest clear, stomach clear. 4. Opening your eyes. 5, fully alert, fully aware, feeling so good, so wonderful. Now take a deep breath in, taking all the good positive energy of the present and the present moment, and exhale all the negative energy leaving your body, leaving you feel so good, so wonderful, like you can do absolutely anything in this life. Congratulations, you just used hypnosis and the power of your own subconscious, as a matter of fact, to basically quiet down the fear of missing out and to realize the importance of the one moment that is actually real. This moment, the moment. And the best part is you carry a phrase with you now, right? Because in the future, anytime you feel the FOMO, you can repeat to yourself as a mantra, "This is the moment." And anytime that pull comes back, those words will just bring you right back to here, this moment. Now do yourself a favor. I'd like you to right now just look up and look around the actual room you're in, the environment you're in, and name 3 concrete things out loud or in your head that are objectively good right here, right now. These can be things you observe through vision, there can be things you hear, there can be feelings inside of you. But name 3 things to your brain, because your real life, it is in this room, in this environment. It is not on a screen. And so you will remember, remember forever, this is the moment. And there's gonna be moments in the future, actually, when you notice the shift in how you understand FOMO and how you engage with FOMO. When you do, I would love it if you could message me on Instagram @AmericanHypnotist, because I would freaking love to hear your story. I've helped many people with their FOMO in the past, and every time I get so much gratitude because It is the coolest thing to be able to hypnotize someone to, yeah, just help someone they have struggled for years with. So if you love this, please message me on Instagram and take a look at my other recordings too, because each one, it's specifically built to improve another part of your life very surgically with the power of hypnosis. So go out, enjoy the rest of your day, enjoy the moment. You have freaking earned it.
