In this video, Beth Dodson of HomeZada explains to estate attorneys and planners how the HomeZada platform can streamline the end‑of‑life process for their clients. She outlines three core functionalities: (1) tracking every item in a home to create a comprehensive inventory, (2) assigning each item to a specific individual or organization and adding notes or stories to capture the owner’s wishes, and (3) exporting a formatted home‑inventory PDF that can be incorporated into estate‑planning documents. Dodson highlights the benefits of these tools—preventing family disputes, reducing theft risk, and ensuring clear, documented intent for the disposition of personal belongings. She then describes two implementation pathways for professionals: purchasing HomeZada Professional to give clients direct access, or partnering with third‑party home‑inventory services that can use the platform on the client’s behalf. Hi everyone, Beth Dodson here with HomeZada. Thank you so much for joining me today. Today we're going to talk to the estate attorneys and estate planners and how they can recommend HomeZada to their clients so that it actually helps the overall end-of-life process. Yes, that's what we're talking about today, so let's get started. There's 3 key areas that HomeZada can provide value To anyone who is in the process of estate planning. And the first area is by tracking the contents inside the home. We often forget about those contents, and once they add them all up and they're extremely valuable, they can also cause friction among family members if people aren't getting what they want. Secondly, while inside HomeZada, you can— and inside the home inventory functionality, you can assign individual or an organization that gets that particular item, and then you can assign notes, whether it's a story you want to tell about the item or a reason why you think this individual or organization deserves to get this item. So that's the second area of HomeZada and how it can affect estate planning. Once these 2 things have been done, tracking a home inventory and assigning where these items need to belong, an estate planning home inventory PDF Can be printed out of HomeZada, and it can be submitted to your organization, the estate attorney and estate planner, so that you can incorporate it into the overall end-of-life documentation. And you also have a record on file. Now, we all know some of the reasons why this can be extremely valuable. We avoid family squabbles, we avoid potential risk of theft among family members, which has occurred. And we avoid— and we create a clean view of where the contents need to go based on the wishes of the individual who actually owned them, which is also very important. This also prevents any risk of an item potentially going to a family member or, let's say, a museum. You know, the person who has identified where they want their items to go, they have that Organized within HomeZada, and now you have a record of that, which is extremely important. So how can you actually do this? As an estate attorney and estate planner, you have a couple different ways that you can do this. One, you can sign up using HomeZada Professional and submit and buy the gift of HomeZada for your customer. They can then start entering their home inventory, and they can simply do this using their mobile phone. Or any other type of device that they have, but it's all in the cloud, safe, secure, and you have that data and they can go access that. The second way to do this is to hire out. There's plenty of organizations out there that offer home inventory services that can use HomeZada to document all that and follow these procedures and bring that information back to you on behalf of the client. This is not uncommon. People provide home inventories all the time, whether or not you're doing an estate plan or not, but this is another good reason why. it's important to document the contents of your home. If you do not know of an estate home inventory professional in your area, please leave us a comment down below or let us know at info@homezada.com, and we probably know somebody in your area that we can recommend. So this is how we can do this to prevent any squabbling down the line and have clarity of where items need to go. And when we say items, we mean all of the contents within the home. Not just the financial capital that may be in a bank account. So we hope you find this helpful— excuse me— helpful. And if you have any questions, please let us know. You can ping us also in the comments below or info@homezada.com, and we look forward to hearing from you. And good luck with everything. Thank you.
