Elizabeth Dodson shows how to use HomeZada's AI tool to estimate siding replacement costs. Enter your house dimensions and the system calculates material needs and pricing, adjusting for different materials like vinyl or stucco. A basic vinyl siding project came to about $18,000.

Some homeowners live in a home where the exterior siding, it really needs to be replaced, but they don't really know how to budget for replacing their exterior siding. Let's learn how advanced AI can help you budget for your exterior siding. First, a reminder, why do you need a budget? One, you're investing into your home, so how much are you gonna invest is an important piece. How are you gonna pay for it? Cash, credit, home equity loan. The third one, maybe the most important, is you really wanna have at least some understanding over the scope and what you want. It'll help you evaluate bids, make a better selection with a contractor, and ultimately manage the one that you want, and you're more likely not to overspend. So the key aspects of how AI can basically help you is it's going to try to create a list of materials, understand the dimensions of your home, what type of products do you want, is it exterior siding, and whether you're going to do a DIY or hire a contractor. Clearly most people when they're going to do a siding project are going to hire a contractor. So here's HomeZada. It's a digital home management platform. It does lots of different sort of things to manage the data about your house. But let's go to the projects page here and click on new project. Here's a template over about 50 common home improvement projects. So let's just do a quick little search for siding, find the siding replacement. You hit create project. Now on the left-hand side, you can say, you can give yourself a really a high-level or high, medium, or low-level swag. But really what we don't know yet is what the dimensions are. But we're going to find that out here in a second. So you hit Create Project and now clearly there is some items automatically identified, right? You got to demo your existing siding, you got to do the installation, you may want to paint it depending on what you put, what siding material, do you want some trim? You can clearly add or edit, delete items if you know. If you don't, you can just go to the upper right-hand corner and hit Zada AI Budgets to essentially initiate the magic of AI that's going to help you. So, the first thing it says is I need to know the dimensions of your new siding. So, you could go out and kind of basically say my house is 50 by 40 feet. Give it a basic geometry. And so, now it's going to basically take that geometry and it's going to make a whole bunch of assumptions, right? Based on the average height of a single-story house, it's 10 feet. It's basically doing some calculations to obviously with the siding project. Understanding your quantities is a huge material cost as it relates to the impact of the project. So here it's basically taking all of those items, right? And it's basically coming up with the square footage of these types of things. And it's basically saying it might cost you about $18,000. But the benefit here with, with the Zada AI is you can look at the assumptions and start to make changes. For instance, the siding material. It's basically priced vinyl siding. You could say rebudget with stucco as the siding, right? And you're literally having a conversation with Zada AI that's basically going to rebudget the same exact quantities, but now it's basically doing it with a stucco as opposed to a vinyl, and it's going to give you a different budget. Again, think how long it would take you to do this basically through, you know, internet research or calling up contractors. You're You're eventually going to have to call the contractors, but you're still getting an amazing level of AI technology to show you the benefits of being able to engage in, in basically doing different pricing. Now let's try one other experiment. Let's say you have an irregular geometry of your house. It's an L-shape where you could actually enter in the details of each side of the L and basically ask it to calculate a more complex geometry. Let's see what happens. Check out how amazing Zada AI handles the more complex geometry. You've given each dimension of the L-shape, right? And basically goes out and it figures out what the square footage is and basically has basically redone the square footage and done a re-budget based on the new geometry. So again, you could continue to engage in Zada AI. And again, you're getting much better data prior to going out and figuring out How to hire for a contractor. So if you're interested in more information, just go to homezada.com and you can learn more about Zada AI, or you can even sign up and start tracking your siding project or any other remodel project where you're looking to get much better detailed budgets and estimates to help you stay on budget and on track.
