In this instructional video, Elizabeth Dodson demonstrates how homeowners can quickly generate detailed, AI‑driven budgets for roof replacement projects using the HomeZada digital home‑management platform. She begins by explaining why a thorough budget is essential—clarifying investment size, payment strategy, and enabling accurate bid comparison to avoid overspending. She then walks through the HomeZada UI: selecting a new roof project from a template gallery, choosing a budget level (low, moderate, high), and opting for a contractor. The platform automatically identifies required materials (plywood, roofing material, roofing paper, labor, insulation, etc.) based on the home’s stored data (e.g., a 2,400 sq ft house in Melbourne, FL). By invoking the Zada AI Budgets tool, the AI calculates quantities and costs for a low‑end asphalt shingle roof, yielding an initial estimate of about $10,000. The presenter engages the AI in a dialogue to explore alternative materials—metal, slate, clay, concrete, synthetic roofing—and observes how swapping to concrete tiles raises the estimate to $15,000. After reviewing and adjusting line items, she saves the estimate, adds contractor overhead, and arrives at a final $18,000 budget. The video concludes with a call‑to‑action encouraging viewers to sign up at homesada.com to replicate the process.

Many homeowners find themselves in a home that's 20, 25, 30 years old and it's time to replace the roof, but they have no idea how to create a good budget for it. Let's learn how easy it will be with AI to create a great detailed budget for homeowners. Real quick, let's go through a quick summary over why you need a budget in the first place. One is you're putting an investment into your home, so you really want to know how much you're going to invest. 2, you want to know what your payment approach is. How are you going to pay for it? Cash, credit, maybe you have to get a home equity loan. Probably the most important thing is having a detailed budget. It's gonna help you create a better way to evaluate bids and get on the same page as it relates to the scope of what you actually want with your new roof. And thus, you're much more likely not to overspend. Now, how does AI do it? It basically takes the list of materials that are typically required for a re-roof project, the dimensions of your roof, determining what type of products you have, and then choosing DIY or hiring a contractor. Let's face it, most people with a roof are going to hire a contractor. So when we go to Homesota to see how easy this is— Homesota is a digital home management platform. It does lots of different data management about your house. We're going to go click on projects and focus on that and click on new project. And here you see a gallery of about 50 common home improvement projects. So we can either scroll down and find the roof project, or we could just use the search button here and say roof. Roof. And you can see here there's a template here where we're going to hit Create Project. Now on the left-hand side, you can see I can do a quick little estimate. Again, this is high level, low, moderate, or high. Let's say you're budget conscious and you want to go low and you want to come in here and you're going to choose a contractor and you're going to hit Create Project. Now the first thing Homesada does magically is basically looks at all the different materials that you're going to need. Maybe you're going to need plywood. Roofing material, roofing paper, labor, insulation, and all of those items are typically automatically identified for you. Now in the upper right-hand corner, you can click on Zada AI Budgets, and it's going to initiate the AI tool to essentially try to create a detailed price for your home. Now, because I've already set up in HomeZada that I live in Melbourne, Florida, and that my home is 2,400 square feet, it's automatically taking all of that property data And it's basically trying to come up with the detailed quantities, how many squares, how many square feet of materials are going to be acquired based on a low end of, you know, using asphalt shingles, for instance, as the roof material. It's calculated how much money this is, and you can see that your total is about a $10,000 budget. Now you can ask it what other roof material choices are there? Right, so you're engaging in a dialogue. Again, think about having almost like a roofing expert at your fingertips where you're basically saying, hey, what are my other product choices? And what's it— what's going to be the budget? You can see that the budget-conscious one chose asphalt tiles, but you've got choices like metal roofing, slate tiles, clay tiles, concrete tiles, You know, synthetic roofing, etc. And then you could ask it to rebudget using concrete tiles. Again, now Homes Auto is basically going through that same list of material items. Again, you could make— you can add these material items, you can delete them. And now you've got— you've gone from a $10,000 re-roof to a $15,000 re-roof just by swapping swapping out concrete tiles instead of asphalt shingles. And you can see basically you can always have and save this information. And now if you want to save this as your overall budget, you can come in here and hit the Save button, and it's going to bring all these materials over here. You can make any adjustments here if you want. You hit Save, and it comes back to the main estimate. And you can see here's my $18,000 because down here I've estimated the contractor overhead because we're going to do that via a contractor. And you can see just in a matter of minutes, you were able to get multiple estimates at a detailed level based on different price points for your roofing project. In summary, if you want to learn more about how to use AI for your new roof projects, go to homesada.com and sign up today, and you can do that same exact exercise using Homesada. Thank you. Thank you.
