In this tutorial, the presenter walks through HomeZada’s Project Actions feature, which helps homeowners plan and manage remodel projects. Users start by selecting a project template (e.g., kitchen remodel) and choosing whether to use a contractor, do it themselves, or start with no predefined actions. The system copies a set of pre‑populated action items—researching products, setting a budget, checking permits, evaluating contractors, verifying insurance, taking photos, and saving warranties/receipts—into the new project. Users can delete, add, or edit actions, and mark items as Done via a dropdown. The feature works for both contractor‑led and DIY projects, illustrated with a Half‑Bathroom remodel example that includes demolition, sub‑floor prep, and toilet installation steps. The overall goal is to provide a checklist‑style guide that keeps homeowners organized and ensures successful home‑improvement outcomes.

HomeZada has a great project feature that guides you through all the steps required to ensure that you have a successful project. If you go click on New Project, there are a series of templates that come with the system, and let's say you wanted to do a kitchen remodel. When you hit Create Project, over on the right-hand side, you can see the section here that calls Project Actions. So you can obviously hire a contractor to do a kitchen remodel. You could choose to do it yourself. Or you could choose No Project Actions, which starts with a blank slate. But essentially, if you leave it as Use a Contractor and hit Create Project, the first thing that we do is copy the template of all the items here for you to start giving yourself a budget for all the items that you want on your project. But more importantly, this new feature under the Actions tab here really guides you through a series of steps to ensure that you have a successful project. So it helps remind you that you should research different product choices. It's a great idea to establish a budget for these things. Sometimes you may have to determine whether you need to get a county permit. Evaluating multiple contractors, talking to the references, verifying their contract insurance, taking photos during the project, saving all the warranties and receipts. It really becomes a checklist to ensure that you've hired the right contractor for your project, and it helps you manage that overall project. The feature is pretty easy. If you want to delete a particular action item, you just hit the trash can button. You can customize it up here at the top by hitting Add Project Action, where you can create your own action items as kind of reminders over things you need to do to manage the house. And you can certainly use the, the Done drop list over here on the right to give yourself a little note over which items you've completed versus which items you have still yet to do. And this comes with all of our templates. So we basically guide you through the process of any home improvement you want to take. And if we go back to, for instance, All Projects, and we go to our Half Bathroom Remodel and look at the action items here, you can see here this was a project that we did as a DIY. And we basically created all the series of installation tasks of everything from demolition to prepping the subfloor, installing the toilet. You can really use this even on DIY projects to give yourself the list of all the things that you need to install based on the products and materials that you've chosen to use. So we hope you enjoy the Project Actions feature to help guide you through successful home improvement projects. Thanks.
