Hi everybody, Beth Dodson here with HomeZada. I hope you're having a fabulous day, and thank you so much for joining us and watching this video. Today we're going to talk about a tip that you can use specifically inside HomeZada, and this has to do with importing and exporting Excel spreadsheets within HomeZada. So oftentimes we get a lot of customers who call us or email us and they ask us about importing an Excel spreadsheet. And why they ask us about this is they've probably done what I did many years ago, is establish a home inventory in an Excel spreadsheet, and they want to make sure that they can capture that work or have less redundancy and less double entry when they enter in a new home inventory inside HomeZada. So we can actually import spreadsheets. However, in order to do this, you need to first export an already set up spreadsheet or Excel file from within HomeZada. So what I recommend here is you sign up for HomeZada, you enter the number of bathrooms and bedrooms, you enter the type of home, you actually get your predictive house setup, you actually review it and say, yes, I do have these spaces, or no, I don't. And then you rename them and/or you add additional spaces that you may or may not have. And then once you do that, then you go to the reports section on the top purple bar inside HomeZada. You choose the inventory reports. You specifically choose inventory export/import. Report, you choose to download your setup Excel spreadsheet. Okay, it'll show you exactly what to do. You download the Excel spreadsheet, that's the one you've just set up. Well, then what will happen is you can marry the spreadsheet that you currently have with the fields and the information inside the HomeZada spreadsheet. It's very important that you understand why you have to marry your spreadsheet with HomeZada's. So HomeZada actually has fields within it, and those fields need to be aligned. And for people who are not familiar with this, you know, spreadsheets have to be able to talk to each other specifically. And then once you enter a spreadsheet back up into the system, it needs to be aligned with the fields that are in the system, because my fields in HomeZada are not changing. Do we understand that the fields in HomeZada are not changing? So when you marry your existing Excel spreadsheet with the new spreadsheet that you've published outside of HomeZada, you can then add all the information. Another tip to keep in mind is you cannot change the columns. So the columns are vertical, cannot change the columns. You need to make sure that they stay the same. You do not have to enter information in the fields, in the columns, but you cannot change them. Do not delete them. Do not add more. Leave it alone. However, you can add more rows horizontal. You can add more rows. So if you have a new space, you can add a new space. If you have a new item within a space, you can add those details. And if you're more familiar using Excel to establish your inventory, That's totally fine. Then when you're ready and you're finished with your Excel spreadsheet, you can import it back into HomeZada. And in that same area, on the purple bar, go to Reports, choose Inventory Export/Import, and then you will see the wizard that walks you through how to import the Excel spreadsheet that you've adjusted. Remember, that spreadsheet has to be the one that you've exported out of HomeZada and then re-imported into HomeZada. Not any other spreadsheet that you have. Okay, be very clear. If any of this information is confusing or you don't quite understand, please leave us comments below. Please email us at info@homesada.com. But I wanted to share this tip because a lot of people do not know that you can do this in Homesada, and it can make your life a whole lot easier. This is also important if you have finished your inventory within Homesada and you want to Export an Excel spreadsheet and deliver it to somebody else, whether it's an insurance company, whether it's a family member, whatever the case may be. You can also do that. So always remember that. It's a great little tip. Um, so I'm going to put the instructions down below as well about how to do this inside HomeZada. But if you have any questions, once again, if you have any questions, Please give us comments. Please email us at homesada dot excuse me at info at homesada dot com. But if you are unfamiliar with homesada, I invite you to go check out homesada at homesada dot com. So have a wonderful day. Happy inventorying. I know I loved mine.
