In this single‑speaker presentation, Beth Dodson (HomeZada) shares a collection of customer stories that illustrate why homeowners use HomeZada. The core use case is creating a detailed home inventory to protect against loss from water main breaks, fires, floods, hurricanes, and to simplify insurance claims. Customers also leverage the platform for peace of mind—allowing families to locate belongings, keep distant relatives informed, and even aid in crime investigations. First‑time homeowners rely on HomeZada to learn maintenance tasks, budget and schedule home‑improvement projects, and avoid anxiety over costs. Specialized users track high‑value collections such as art, wine, sports memorabilia, and firearms. Estate attorneys and planners use the inventory to document assets for clients. Some customers have turned the inventory service into a business. A notable example is a Hurricane Harvey homeowner who accessed their inventory from a different computer to file a claim quickly, saving time, money, and stress. Dodson also describes her personal workflow: annual maintenance scheduling, cash‑flow planning, and disciplined project budgeting, which she credits to HomeZada. The talk ends with an invitation for viewers to share their own stories.

Hi everyone, Beth Dodson here with HomeZada. I hope you're having a fabulous day. Pardon my voice a little bit, a little under the weather, but let's get to it. So today we're going to talk about why our customers use HomeZada and what we're hearing stories about and why we're so excited here at HomeZada on these stories. So one of the reasons why homeowners are using HomeZada is because they really do want to track a home inventory. So many people have lost their items due to a water main break in their city, fires, floods, hurricanes, and they want to avoid filling out those forms for the insurance companies again. So they decided they wanted to prepare for this and they wanted to have a home inventory. And with that said, they not only built a home inventory, they started using other features in HomeZada and they started realizing, wait a second, I could start a business using HomeZada. So a use case for some of our customers is that they use HomeZada for their own situation, like a home inventory, because they've already experienced a challenging situation and don't wanna go through it again. 2, they actually want to build a business around this, so they realize the importance of it. So that's one. The second thing that we hear from a lot of our customers is that they wanna have peace of mind with their belongings and they wanna know where they are. So we have a customer who is a professional that did an inventory for a family. It was grown adults and a woman who was being moved to a retirement community, and that was for her own safety. But her home had been in her life for a long time, and she wanted to maintain it, and she could maintain it. So the woman actually did all the inventory, took her iPad, to the woman while she was in her new home in her retirement community and showed her that all her belongings were still there. It gave her mom— it gave the woman such a peace of mind that it was amazing. And then what happened after that was the family was spread out all over the United States, and they now have access to the system so they can also learn what is where. So those are huge examples— peace of mind, Keeping the family in the loop, and that's really important because people have a sentimental value to the things that belong to them, and that is precious. So another thing that we get from is a lot of first-time homeowners. First-time homeowners are new homeowners. We've probably all been there. It is chaos when we become a new homeowner. It's like, what? What was I thinking about? And we don't know what we need to do. We have no idea what kind of maintenance we need to do on our homes. We're not quite there in owning a lot of stuff, so we get the start of a home inventory. But then we also look at our house and we want to remodel it, and we're like, okay, wait, we don't know what we need to do. We don't know what the maintenance is going to cost. We don't know what we're going to get as it relates to projects. Can we do all of our projects in one year? How much is this going to cost? And so they get excited because Homesada helps them with that process, and it makes their first stage and their first home easier to own because they're ahead of the game, and they appreciate that, and they're not having Anxiety because they don't know what to do or they're over budget on these projects. They're actually preparing for it prior to, and it helps them manage not only their anxiety but their stress and then their joy of owning a home. And that's what's important because owning a home can be really great and create great memories in there. Let me just look at my notes. One of the other things that we had from a homeowner— oh, this is a cool one. Someone thinks they may have solved a crime with HomeZada. Very cool. They actually performed a home inventory and they believe that items were stolen because of the nature of those items. And with HomeZada, they've actually earmarked some things. It's amazing what a home inventory can do. So that's exciting. And then, um, I'm trying to think of some other things. Oh, we have a ton of homeowners and people, even some renters, who wanna track the items that belong to them, but they're really specific, the things that are important to them. And when they're looking at a home inventory, they wanna track sports memorabilia, paintings, gun collections, art collections. They wanna track their details of their wine. So, Homesada can be used for all of that. And these people love that because that's what's most important to them. And other things in their home, not that they're not important, but they're not as important as those items, and they want to keep an inventory of them. Um, it's— I'm trying to think what else is happening because I talked to so many people. Oh, estate attorneys and estate planners also want to help their customers just by documenting all this information. Um, bring families together. Oh, we have customers that were in Houston during Hurricane Harvey. They also need to know that their inventory was safe, and they were nervous because they didn't have their computers, they didn't have their phones, they didn't have anything. That's, that's not important when you're trying to protect yourself in a state of emergency. So they accessed a different computer from a different location, accessed their HomeZada account, And there, and behold, there's their information about their home, and they could file a claim super easy. They were so alleviated, and they were so, um, at peace because they understood that what they had was there, and all they had to do was go through the process. And I can't tell you how many times our customers tell us that we save them money, tons of money, tons of time, tons of stress. But I just want to put these little stories out there because a lot of people ask me, why would someone use HomeZada? I can tell you from my own personal experience as well, I save a boatload of money. I actually manage my maintenance tasks annually, and those maintenance tasks are important. So I schedule that out and I budget that out. I've also established trends using HomeZada, so I know exactly what's going to be budgeted when. And so not only can I manage the annual budget, but I can manage my cash flow for each quarter. And that's really important because it helps me manage where I'm going to spend the most. And as you can imagine, I— maybe most people spend the most probably in the fall and the spring. And how do you actually budget that when you know you've got vacations coming up and everything else? But I also manage and budget my projects. So most people that know me, um, I just don't do projects— I don't do all kinds of projects each year. I actually do a project a year somewhere in my yard or in my house. And that's important to me because if I do too many at once then I could incur a lot of debt, and that's not what I want. I want to be able to manage my projects and pay for them and then enjoy the next project the next year. And it gives me time to prepare for those projects so I can be more thoughtful as to what I want, whether it's decorating, whether it's enhancing something, whether it's repairing something. I can just be more thoughtful as to what I want rather than rushing to get things done and then being dissatisfied With a result, so I just wanted to share some of these ideas of how our homeowners are using Homesada today. The joy it brings them, the relief it brings them, the peace of mind it brings them, the businesses that they're developing because of Homesada. All of this is super exciting. I am excited for these people, and I'm excited that homeowners are finding value with Homesada. So if you have any questions, please ask us, and then also. If you have your own story, we'd love to hear from you. You can videotape it, you can email it to us. We'd love to hear it and, uh, how, how that helps you. Have a great day.
