I really wanted to talk about this topic of motivation versus Clarity. I speak to so many women every day, and one of the biggest challenges is that they face day to day is struggling to find that motivation to wake up naturally. They think it's a motivation issue. And it's not uncommon because even if you have a good job and things feel good and things feel fine, like many of the women in my world, most people aren't excited to get up and just wake up and go to a job that feels okay and feels good. So naturally we step into that feeling of it is a motivation issue. Now, most people, as I said, aren't excited to get up ready to go seize the day. But why? Why does that happen and what can we really do to fix it? So not being able to wake up excited is actually a symptom. It's not the problem. So it's actually a symptom rather than it being a problem. Not having clarity is the real problem. So it's that clarity piece. When you don't have enough clarity of where you're going, you aren't encouraged, you aren't excited to wake up every single day. Now think about it this way. When you go to the airport, for argument's sake, you know that you have to be there at a certain time. It feels easier to wake up, right? If you know that you have an event that day, it's easier to wake up. It feels more exciting. It feels like you have something to wake up for. And of course it's really easy to say, well, going on an airplane and going on holiday or going to an event, of course that's far more exciting. And yes, that is in reality. But the biggest thing is we know what we're heading towards. So waking up at 4 o' clock in the morning doesn't just feel pointless and aimless, it actually feels like you have a goal that you're working towards. So by having something, having that clarity, and having that purpose to wake up and do something, we have that excitement. And I cannot tell you the amount of people who, once I share that with Them, it clicks. Having that clarity and having that goal that you're working towards is going to allow you to feel motivated and excited and ready. I have tried, along with so many of my clients, putting my phone away before bed to make sure I can have a better sleep or reading every single help, self help and motivational book that I can find. All from the Miracle Morning, the Power of now, all of these incredible books that I really thought were going to solve my motivation issue. And yes, for a short while, of course they work like anything. We're excited. We, we've got a new goal. Something is really, really good and it's exciting and it's fun. See, we've got clarity of what we're trying to do. We're trying to read all these books to make change. It feels exciting, it feels fun, but then that actually goes away because that isn't what we're aiming for the whole time. That's just a short term fix. So trying all of these things really made me realize I had to deep dive into was it a motivation issue or was it something else? And that's where I started to unpick the fact that it is. And I had a clarity issue. Like so many of my clients, that clarity piece is the missing piece that is missing. That missing piece of the puzzle is what is going to change everything and allow you to actually get onto that path. I always felt that I was kind of playing this catch up that I was continuously trying to make up for lost to try and understand why I wasn't feeling motivated, why I wasn't feeling excited. And that's as I said, when I realized that I was looking at the wrong thing. I thought it was motivation. Trying to motivate me, trying to motivate myself and feel inspired was not enough. So what it was about, as I said, it's about that clarity piece of what I really, really, really wanted to do in my life. I've shared this a lot on the jobs that I were in, I didn't hate them. Some of them I did, but they weren't awful. I had a good salary, I had good benefits, I had a good setup. Yes, I fluctuated with did I love them, Did I hate them? I went through periods of burnout. But overall the jobs that I was in were okay. On paper they were good. They were fine. But what I realized was that in order to feel super inspired and super motivated every single day, I had to be doing something that felt aligned, full of purpose and felt good. For me, just doing something that we think Is good is not going to give us that motivation and that clarity on feeling excited and feeling great every single day. What I also started to look at was the people around me, the coaches that I was working with, the people who were doing really, really well in their careers. What did they all have in common? Why were they waking up every single day excited, feeling good, wanting to go to their job, wanting to go to their career, actually talking about how much they love what they do. And that was because the stuff that they were doing was aligned to them. They had clarity on their vision, they had clarity on their path, they had clarity on the impact. They knew exactly where they were going. So they were inspired every single morning to work towards that goal, to work towards that purpose. They have goals that they want to hit and goals they want to achieve. So many of these incredible powerhouse women that I coach and that I speak with have always been told just to follow the path in that way. So many of the times they haven't even thought about what do they want? What is it that's important for them? Where are they going? Where's that career guy? What aligns with their purpose? What aligns with their vision? What aligns with their goals? Because that big piece of clarity work is often missed with so many of us because we're put on this path that we think we should follow. And then we wonder where we lose this motivation. Because a lot of the time it's not our goals, it's someone else's goals. It's someone else's goals that we think we should be doing. And it all comes back down to not a lack of motivation. Because believe me, some of these incredible women I work with are so motivated to make change, they just don't know what that change looked like or where they're going. So that's the number one piece we always start with, is getting clear AF and getting that clarity on what they want to do in their career. What is that next step for them? What are the big audacious goals that they have? And again, so many of these incredible six, seven figure career women who are leading these global companies, who are absolutely incredible, come to me and say, I just feel like something's missing. And it's always this clarity piece of what are their goals versus the goals that they think that they should be doing. And that's where that. That's where that mismatch often is. So I want you to think about if you've ever felt this feeling of, I don't feel motivated. I feel like I'm losing momentum. I want you to link it back and say, but what am I going for? What are the goals? What are the, what's the purpose? Everything that I'm doing, do I have clarity on that? Do I know what the steps are? What is it that I'm doing? And does everything I'm doing feel super aligned to me? Because as I said, I speak to women day in and day out who have never done this clarity piece on what feels good for them, on what they enjoy doing. So when they're making these big career decisions of what's their next move? Are they going to go for the promotion? Are they going to do the 180? They are feeling like they don't know where to go and they are feeling stuck. And it's not a motivation issue. It is a bloody clarity issue. So I wanted to share with you three questions that if you are feeling in this realm of lack of motivation, lack of clarity, things are feeling a little bit difficult. I want you to think about these three questions. So the first one is what aspects of your current or past experience roles have brought you that level of fulfillment and satisfaction that you are looking for or that you don't have at the moment? What do those feel like? What are they? What were they? And write all of these down. The second one is envisioning your ideal future. What specific contributions do you aspire to make professionally? So what is it professionally that you desire to contribute? Is it a specific business? Is it a specific cause? Is it a specific impact? None of this is to do with money. None of this is to do with job title. And again, that's where we get so caught up. And this is all to do with the impact on you, what it is that you want away from all of that. And then the final piece is thinking about how does your career, current career or sort of future progress or future growth currently where you are, how does that align with your values, your passions and your long term aspirations? So the role or career that you're in right now, whether you're running your own business, whether you're working for someone else, whatever it is that you're doing, how does that align with your values as a human, your passions as a human, and if you were to look 5 to 10 years time, is the role or other things that you are doing in your job today, is that setting you up for that future? And again, I speak to so many women in my world, in my one to one containers who are in jobs that do not align with their long term vision. They are in jobs that do not align with their passions and values. And then they wonder why they don't feel inspired or excited every day, every day to jump out of bed. Now I'm going to caveat that because not every day is going to be sunshine and rainbows. And even when you have clarity, there are still going to be days where things are challenging, things are difficult, but you have the purpose and the drive and the passion and the understanding and the goals to go for something. And that's going to make it a hell of a lot easier than just feeling like you're doing all of these difficult things without actually having that end goal. So if this is you, I have something that's officially launching tomorrow and I wanted to come and share on it and it's going to be at the pre launch price at the moment with a special bonus before we launch, which we officially launch tomorrow. And this is for you. If you are looking to get super, super clear on your next career move, if you are looking for new career paths or new opportunities or promotions or pay rises and taking that next move that you want to be aligned with your strengths and passions, we are going to assess your current situation and where you want to be where you currently are now and how we are going to get there. Again, getting that clarity on how we're going to get there. We are going to, I'm going to teach you how to position yourself as that expert in your field, to become magnetic, to actually get you to where you want to get to. We're going to get the clarity around how you, you position yourself in that field. We're also going to, and I'm going to teach you how to uplevel your mindset to get that clarity, to get that confidence, to become that unapologetic version of yourself and set these audacious, huge, big career goals and really, really map out the next steps of how you're going to get there. And once you do all of these things, once you get that clarity and once you step in to that clear version of purpose, of alignment of values, I promise you changing career, leveling up, getting that promotion, getting that pay rise, whatever change you're looking to make in your career becomes so easy. It becomes so easy. Regardless of what's going on in the market, regardless of what's going on in your industry, leveling up in your career gets to be easy. When you do all of these things, when you get super aligned, when you get the clarity on what you need to do and how you need to get there So I really, really hope you enjoyed this. And I just want to remind you, it's not a motivation problem, it's a clarity issue. And the great thing about that is you have the power today to start making change and getting that clarity and leveling up in your career. So I really hope you enjoyed this and I will see you all again soon. Thank you for listening to the Career Chronicles podcast.
