Emma Naylor-Weston and Imogen talk about recognizing when your life reflects what you've manifested, sharing their personal growth journeys and how inner work and mindset shaped their businesses. They discuss the role of community and coaching in building soulful entrepreneurship.
The Soulpinners are here to welcome the new way of business, to create a community of entrepreneurs who want to do business a different way. They do it the sole way. We are here to guide you along the soulful path and create your business desires.
Hello and welcome to the Soulpreneurs podcast. So this podcast is being brought to you from England and Spain. We have a special little episode for you today and we were really, really inspired to record this because of honestly, our conversations that we have separately. That's basically what this podcast is going to be because mine and Emma's relationship is all about sharing our business, sharing what we're going through, the, the good and the bad and all of that kind of stuff so we can inspire you and you feel like you have people to relate to, people who are on that same journey as you. And we were speaking the other day and we just had this huge, huge realization of where we once dreamt we were going to be and then all these little things that are leading us to that way and actually being there. So, em, I want to like take you back to where you, when you first, first, first started to even get into coaching. All of those little things that you were inspired by and what you looked up to and you were drawn to and how that's kind of paved your way for where you've gone.
Hey, Imogen, I'm very jealous, first of all, but you are in Spain. I wish we had recorded this last week because I would have been in Greece, but I'm back in sunny London. Yeah, it's really interesting that we kind of had this conversation. I think it was a few days ago now, where we kind of just spoke about. I can't believe that we're actually living out the reality that we wanted to for so long. And I actually did a post on it where we're constantly chasing for kind of the next thing that we forget that we're exactly where we wanted to be, you know, a few months ago. We're sitting in the goal that we've hit. And because we're so obsessed with hitting the next goal and getting to that next level, we often forget to celebrate. And that's one thing that you taught me really early on in my journey is celebrate the small wins, the big wins and everything in between. And I'm really, really starting to be better at that. But if we look back at kind of my journey, I always, always wanted to do something in coaching, but I often found now I know they were self sabotaging behaviors, limiting beliefs at the time I didn't really know what that meant. And for anyone listening who doesn't really know what that means, it's basically our brain stopping us from doing things and basically stopping us from reaching our goals. Mostly out of fear, but mostly kind of out of protecting us. Because often when we make those changes, we're doing something that we've never done before. So our brain is saying, no, no, no, you need to stay comfortable, or. Or it's finding times in our past where things didn't go to plan, where we felt we failed. And it's trying to tell us again. See, you tried to do something before, and it didn't work out. So we really. I've worked so much through that. And this morning, after that conversation that we had, I had this big realization that there are a few things that are in the pipeline which obviously I want to be able to kind of share about with. Working with certain people that, at the beginning of my journey, was such a big goal of mine. You know, there are certain other coaches and certain projects that I really, really wanted to work on. And one of the big things that has happened is working with corporate clients. And I have been able to work with corporate clients via a wellness platform that I'm the coach on. And I had almost forgotten that that was something I really, really wanted to do. And that conversation we had really kind of sparked my memory. And I sat down and I journaled on all the things that I'm doing now. You know, all the coaching, the group coaching, the corporate stuff, the other projects that I'm working on. And it just really reminded me that I really, really wanted all of this. And I don't think I've really stopped to celebrate because of this journey that I'm on that is just going at 150 miles an hour. I never really celebrate myself and my successes. And what I've been able to do over the last few days is dance around my kitchen, which I never do on, like, let's say a Tuesday lunch break. It doesn't feel.
That's my daily.
I love it. I love it. My fiance came down. My fiance came down the other day.
Oh, nice to call him a fiance.
We've only been engaged nearly two weeks, but. But he came down and he was like, what are you doing? It's the middle of the day and you're dancing. And I was like, I'm celebrating my wins. I'm celebrating myself. And where I am now in my journey is so beyond where I thought I would be at this stage of being a Coach and going on this whole journey. But I often have to remind myself when I'm looking forward to my other projects, I have to remind myself of how far I've come in all of the goals that I've really, really hit. And, and having that accountability with you is so amazing because I know if I was kind of doing this journey, I say on my own, but we speak pretty much all day, every day. And having that community with you and within the two of us, it really allows me to kind of celebrate myself and have someone else to really, really celebrate my wins with. So, yeah, it's definitely been a roller coaster and it's really made me realize that everything I'm doing today is something that was. It was on my vision board. It was all on my vision board. It was all everything I dreamed and prayed of day in and day and now I'm living it. So I have to keep reminding myself to look back and be like, look how far you've come and you are living your dream.
And I know this is going to be a really vague question, but what do you feel like were some of the key elements that got you to this point that you. You've literally got things that you have manifested and got. What's the word? Got Opportunities that you were like, oh my God, I felt like I was so far from. But that's somewhere I was driven to go.
I would say it was doing the work on myself.
And again, that's a very vague answer. But you know, I was always the loud one.
I was always the confident one on the surface. But deep down inside, I never put myself forward for opportunities a because I was scared of petrified. Petrified is the right word of rejection. If someone tried to give me feedback.
Or someone said not now or actually.
You'Re not the right fit, I would take it so personally. I never put myself forward for anything else. And I think the second thing was.
Really, really knowing my worth and knowing.
That I don't have to say yes to everything.
If something doesn't feel aligned, I don't.
Have to say yes to it. And I can start saying yes to the things that do feel good. But most of that work came from me working through my limiting beliefs, understanding why I self sabotage, understanding the behaviors from my past and how they're showing up now. So as much as you can, do the business, work on it, create the business, create the products, have an amazing.
Offering or, or whatever it is that you're doing.
For me, where the big, big change was doing the internal work and it's the hardest part of the puzzle to do, and it's a continuous journey. I'm constantly doing work on myself. I'm constantly investing in coaches.
I'm constantly reading and learning and doing courses.
And I think for me, the big, big shift came when I was ready to do the internal work. I think that's where the really picture. What about for you? Where would you say?
Because you've always had the confidence.
You were a dancer, you were on stage. You were used to being the center of attention. How did you doing this work?
Absolutely not. That's the thing about, like, dancing and performing. You put in on a show, like, you're putting on a front, you know, and it's like, it's so crazy because I'm so obsessed with RuPaul's Drag Race, and it's like I actually myself, in a way, on dancing, on stage, how they felt in drag, like, when they were just guys, women, just as they're, you know, not dressed up in this art form, they're very much like. What's the word? Like, calm, you know, whatever it is. But then when they get into that Persona and the outfit is all that confidence comes out of you, and it's the character, and that's exactly what it was. And it made me less confident as a person, which sounds really counterintuitive, but because I was so confident on stage, and I loved being that character, but I was like, but I'm confident when I'm that character, not when I'm Imogen. And I felt like Imogen got less and less kind of thing. But for me now, like, you know me, my. I do not follow the rules. I do not follow any structure in life. I'm someone that goes against the grain. So for me, like, my biggest business has been very much like, what work do I do on myself? I never, ever, ever look into, like, where is my strategy? Where can I do my marketing? I never do that because all that stuff will sort itself out. And also, that isn't my zone of genius. So for me to try do that, when it doesn't make me feel good, I don't enjoy it. It's not my zone of genius. So I'm not going to get anything out of it. And I'm fully in this, like, honestly, this, like, free and easy, happy, go, lucky world, where I just do the things that make me feel good. And that is, like, when I'm doing things for my business. I love creating. I mean, I absolutely love helping my clients. I love doing human design readings like, they just make me high on life. But all the other stuff, it's like, okay, where can I not use that energy? Where can I put that energy elsewhere? So, yeah, definitely, definitely. Always the inner work. Like, it's always. And it makes such shifts in, in your business, your personal life, like everything in your friendships. I always feel like there's as well this kind of upgrade in your relationships when you do this inner work, because you're not coming from a wounded place. When you're speaking to friends, when you're speaking to colleagues, when you're speaking to your partner, relationships, family. When you start to heal that wounded place inside you, you communicate differently and you have a different way to be in all those relationships as well. So I know we're spe about business here, but it's, it's honestly everything when you do this work. So yeah, and the work we, we are saying is all this self development stuff. You know, you could, you could read the books and you could do the things and even start meditating, start journaling. And then it's like, and now what? And it really honestly is about learning what it is. Like if you, we're saying, like, have a better mindset, but if you don't know what mindset actually means or how it actually works, then it's like, how are you going to do that? If someone says to me, like, I'll be better at rugby, and I had no idea what rugby was, how to play it, I wouldn't get anywhere. Right. But if I went to a rugby game, I went and learned what rugby did. Like, how do you play all of that? Then I don't know why rugby just popped into my head, but that would be how I then got into rugby, got better at it, understood it. And that's exactly what it is with all of this stuff. You know, if you're someone who's feeling like you want this, you want to look at your life and get to those places that you are manifesting, get to those things that you desire. It is about doing the work on you because the version of you that is there is different from the one you are now. So you need to tap into that and get into that. Healing and understanding as well is really, really key.
Yeah. And I think what you mentioned about doing the work and you know, I was at that stage where I feel like I'd read every single self help book, I'd listened to every single podcast, I'd started meditation, I'd done so much stuff, but I really, really needed that extra accountability and that extra kind of like actually deep diving, because it's great to kind of do the surface level work, which really for me was the start of my journey, kind of my growth journey of understanding why I am a certain way and reading books and listening to others who have been on the same journey as me. And, and I think it's the most amazing way if you haven't kind of started your journey or you feel like you're kind of stuck in a rut, go and get those free resources, go and listen to the podcast, go and do the free webinars, the free downloadables.
From the coaches, whatever it is that.
You feel you are able to do right now. Because I think for me a lot of it was the worthiness of feeling about investing in myself. If you'd asked me to pay for a course or for a coach, the worthiness I had within myself was so low, I didn't feel worthy of investing in myself. I didn't feel worthy of having that money spent on me. And now if I see a course that I like, if I see a coach that I like, there's no two ways about it. I'm doing it, I'll figure it out, I'll find the time to invest. It's not about the money, it's about the worthiness that I have within myself. And I was having a conversation with a friend the other week actually, and I said that to her. I spoke about kind of worthiness of investing and she said, wow, that's really something I've never thought about. I always thought it was about the money, I thought it was about the time commitment. But I realized maybe I don't feel worthy of investing in myself. And she went home and said, I've had to have a really good long think and journal session around why. And she says, every time I leave you, it always leaves me with a question. And that's what the beauty of investing in yourself does. It allows you to ask those questions, to see things from a different view. And most of the time it allows you to meet other individuals who are on the same journey as you once you kind of start doing that work. I definitely noticed this, that I was attracting other like minded people for forming, forming networks, meeting people who were on the same journey as me. The universe gave them to me to kind of say, hey, listen, you're not in this alone. And that for me, throughout my whole growth journey and personal development journey and whatever it is that I've done has been that community, being around other like minded for me, mainly women that it's just been women that I've attracted, but there's obviously everyone in this kind of journey together. So yeah, that's been really important and really kind of a big pivotal moment was being in that kind of community.
Yeah, definitely. And it's like when you realize there's other people going through this stuff as well. I think a lot of it is like, if I think back to the beginning of my journey is like, I feel like I was walking around blind, like I was just walking around, like, with no idea, like what life really was or who I was. And I felt like I had all these problems. I thought that I didn't know who I was, what direction I wanted to go in, what my goals were, any of that stuff. But really what I had to do was peel back the layers and pull down the mask of protection that I put up in order to see, like, what system am I running from, how do I work this system? What does it mean? And then move on from there, you know? And that's exactly what I've been doing for these last few years. And that is literally why I'm sat here in Mallorca. There's no other reason other than the fact that I wanted to change. I wanted to shake stuff up. And I was like, well, what do I like? Like, I like the sea and I like the sand and I like the sun and that's why I'm here. Like, it's crazy.
I literally love the fact that you.
Just got up and just moved.
I remember when we were like, I'm thinking about going somewhere.
And then before I knew it, you.
Were like, I've booked somewhere to stay and I've booked my hotel. And the beauty of the work that you've done on yourself is trusting that that's the right thing. It's not the fact that you know anyone, and I mean this when I say it, anyone can get up and go and do it. It's do they go up and do it? That's the difference. Everyone has the ability to get up and book a hotel and go move country, but it's the ability to go actually, what am I, what am I saying to myself that's stopping me from doing that? And if you'd asked me a few, will you ever quit your corporate stable? And I say stable and inverted commas. Will you ever quit your corporate stable? Well paying job, I would have said no because I didn't believe that I could go and do what I wanted to do and earn money and live in abundance and be in the best place in my life because I was self sabotaging myself without realizing. And over the years the worry of certain things and the reason I stayed in certain jobs and stayed in certain companies or stayed in certain relationships doesn't exist anymore. Because I believe in what I want and I know what I want is going to happen. Because the proof is this time, however many years ago, all the things I was dreaming for, I have right now. All of the things that were on that vision board, all of the things that I felt so far away, I am living that reality right now. But I had to trust myself and I had to do the work to get there.
Yeah, trust is like the number one thing I think for me. I've gone on such a, like different journey than what is like don't know what you would do, like a corporate job. Like I'm very, very uncorporate, very different. And that's why it's so amazing for us to have this kind of platform that we're building, the courses that we're doing because we come from such different perspectives that we can really like round about everyone in no matter where you come from or what your upbringing is. And I don't have that corporate like working 9 to 5, like the certain ways you do things like KPIs, like what the, what does that even mean? But what I do have is the connection to my soul that is like so deep within me and that's how I run life. And that's literally what inspires me. Like when things are going in my business. Anytime I want to get more inspired, I want to grow more. I listen to where I'm being led and 100%, if I didn't have the trust in not only like the universe, source, goal, whatever you want to call it, manifestation, but also in myself, that I could actually really do this, that I could really, really like let go of any preconception and I could really let go. And I was someone that had the five year plan, the ten year plan, everything planned out. But really I see it as so narrow minded now. I see it like I'm shot in my. And by the way, this is like, I also think like we have to get to certain stages along our journey. There's like, you know, you start with the little bits and you start with all of the vision boards and the manifestation and then you build onto the next thing. And that's why we always say like I will always say this journey never ends. You just keep evolving and growing. And I'm at that Next bit now where I don't plan anything because I don't want to limit what is possible. I don't know what's possible. And it's like finding my human design was the absolute like catalyst for all of this. But, but it's still like all of these pieces of the puzzle that is put together to form my like deep confidence and deep just ability to just be like fuck it, I'm just going to do it and not care what and don't. And not create a repercussion, you know. So I think it's important to say with our group coaching course, awaken from within. Every thing that we're talking about now, the fact that we're living a life that was like distant reality or a made up reality, fact that we're actually living that life now is a real like advocate for the. What is in this course? What is in this course is the things that helped us be that version of us. Not like we don't speak about the outside world. It's not about like the external, it's really, really about what is going on within you. Understanding the machine that you're working from, how does that really work? And then using these things to really, really follow what the fuck you want to do out of life. Have the belief to be like, do you know what, I'm going to dream big, go high and I'm going to get there. I'm not going to settle for anything less. And group coaching as well is just so, so powerful because like me and Emma are so driven every day because we speak to each other, we have that accountability and that's what it is. It's that you just get constantly inspired by people, constantly inspired. Anytime I've done group coaching, I've done so many group coaching courses and I will continue to do more. They're just so, that just got such good energy in them. Really, really inspiring and it just, you feel safe and that's one thing. We'll make it like, you know, our goal and our whole ethos is that safe sacred space for us to go through this all together.
I'm just, I'm honestly so, so excited. As you said, we've both done so much group coaching and we know what.
We liked, what really worked. And you know, for us it's really.
Really important to share the journey. We know that there's not a one size fits all. Everything we talk about and everything we do is our experience. But it's also very much inviting you to take what we've done, put your own spin on it, learn from others, and really grow as a community.
So if it is something that's kind.
Of resonating with you, or as we said before, you've read the books, you've listened to the podcast, you've done the.
Masterclasses, you've done all the free downloads.
And if you're ready to kind of.
Go on that next journey, we are.
Starting enrolment for the course that we from the Awaken from Within. And we would love to kind of have a chat with you, see if it's something that works for you, answer kind of any questions that you have. And Imogen and I will be on there, showing up in the community, sharing our journey with that to support you. And we really, really cannot wait to invite all of these amazing people into the community that we're creating and the group coaching.
Yeah, amazing. And like, you can go onto our Instagram page, the solopreneurs, or either one of ours, I Am Em, and the imaging Method, and just send us a message on that. We'd love you to be a part of it. And I can really, really feel, really genuinely feel the people that are coming forward for this. And I'm so excited to share that journey with them and really have this healing, awakening journey together.
Imogen, go and enjoy the rest of the sun, because I can see the sun still beaming through the wind. It's getting a little bit gray here, but we hope you enjoyed listening to kind of our journeys. We're so excited for the next stage of our journeys, for the next stage of your journey. And we really, really cannot wait to be a part of it where business meets soul and journey meets alignment.
