Caffeine shrinks blood vessels in the brain, which eases headaches by letting the tissue around your brain contract. The brain itself has no pain receptors, so the pain comes from that surrounding tissue stretching. Caffeine also sharpens focus, especially when paired with L-theanine.
Did you know that caffeine helps to relieve headaches because it restricts blood flow in your brain? And this makes sense because our brains actually don't have any pain receptors. The brain itself can't hurt. That's why you can be awake during brain surgery. What happens when we get a headache is that the tissue around our brain stretches, and that is when the pain is registered. And so when caffeine restricts the blood flow, it allows the tissue around the brain to contract, which relieves the pain. But this does not mean that caffeine is a bad thing. Caffeine is actually a cognitive enhancer. At the right dose, especially when mixed with L theanine, that combo is goaded, and your focus will be through the roof.
