Emily McDonald explains how chronic stress damages your body and shares what she uses to run a business without burning out: morning grounding, setting intentions, avoiding rushed starts to keep cortisol down, and stepping back from stressful media and conversations.
If you want to know how to have a lot of things going on and not be overly stressed, this is how I do it and the science behind it. Of course. In this video I talked about how chronic stress ages you and how I'm able to run my own business as well as do many other things without being overly stressed because a lot of stress is a mindset. Of course there are nuances to this, so check the pinned comment, but here are some of my top mindset hacks to not be stressed first and maybe most important thing is to know that how you start your day is how you spend your day. The first thing that I do when I wake up in the morning is ground and center myself in peace and set intentions for for the day. A tree that's rooted in the ground is a lot harder to blow over than a tree with no roots. Root yourself in the morning and stressful events will be way less likely to blow you over. This will also alter the chemicals in your brain to bring you more peace. And please do not start your day in a rush. That is the best way to boost cortisol and also to reduce your brain function. Another thing that I do is to zoom out, take the alien perspective on any situation and realize that most of the time it is not life or death. When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change. Also, check your addiction to stress. Do you love watching drama or horror on TV or talking about other people? Because none of those things bring peace.
