If you find yourself exhausted and fatigued all the time, if you're grouchy, if the things that you used to love don't excite you anymore, those are all red flags of areas that you can go a little bit deeper. Are you a woman in medicine, feeling overwhelmed and disconnected from the personal fulfillment that you desire? You're in the right place. Join doctors Joanne and Erin as they rewrite the rules for women in medicine. Let's begin. In this episode, I'm so excited to talk to my Amazing Co host, Dr. Joanne Sotelo, and she's going to be giving you permission to change your mind, something we might struggle a little bit with in medicine. So, Joanne, I would love to hear your perspective on why it can be so difficult for women in medicine to change their mind. I know it might sound like a simple statement, but it's something that could be deeply transformative once you really feel it in your bones. So listen to it again. You are allowed to change your mind. And if you're a woman in medicine, I want you to lean in even closer because this message is especially for you. Because why is it so hard for us women in medicine? And I think it's something that we talked about before of our doctor programming. Even from the first day of medical school, we're taught persistence and resilience and dedication, but not often the importance of reflection, alignment, and course correction. We're so we learn to just get on your lane and stay on your lane and just go harder at it. And we, we have success with that mindset, so it gets rewired in our brain, which is partly why it's so important for us to really think of this as a mindset shift, not just as a random concept and also for us. Frequently changing our mind can feel like failure, disloyalty, or weakness, but that's not necessarily the case. Right? What, what if changing your mind is where we find our wisdom and sometimes get sad as I talk with other women in medicine, because I love talking about harmony and fulfillment and, and all those things that, that we review in this podcast as well. And it's so frequently that we kind of bury down our dreams and we cannot even remember the core of who we are. And it's so neat to find, as we've been talking in this last episodes, to really find that pause to really check in and the power of choice and making these decisions, including changing your mind. And I know it's tricky because we sometimes talk about just go for it and have your dreams and don't give up. And it's also important to then say, is this serving me? Is this still in alignment? This is where I want to find our fulfillment. And. And we could be talking about big things or even small things. Just the permission that you.
