a busy week in my life at CMU: fashion show, fundraising, hackathon

This YouTube vlog (uploaded by Eunice Lai on April 4, 2024) documents one hectic week of a Carnegie Mellon University student juggling multiple activities: fundraising (protein shakes, cookies, pies; Rags to Riches challenge), a fashion-show/booth build, daily routines (gym, classes, tutoring), creative work (portraits, painting), and a hackathon where the team reaches the final round. The video mixes on-camera narration, event footage, and conversational clips with peers and reports several specific fundraising tallies.

Good morning. Welcome to A week of a life at cmu. It's an extremely busy week for me. I have a lot going on. A hackathon, a fashion show, some fundraiser I have to do. It'll be interesting, exciting, a little bit unrepresentative of my normal life here, but I hope it's pretty fun. Hi, would you guys like to buy a protein shake? 30 grams of protein for just $5. Fresh. Made fun of you. Okay. It's been two hours. Three hours. Two hours and we're still going strong. So far, $150. Not bad, not bad. It is currently 10:45pm I'm finally back in my room. It's been a really long day, but I'm used to it because look, this is my Google calendar for the week. Yeah, it's crazy. It makes me want to throw up. But that is the CMU lifestyle. You stay stressed. Okay? Good night. Good morning. I woke up early for a cheeky leg day. Can you guys see how bipolar Pittsburgh weather is? It was so bright and sunny yesterday and now it's raining. It's been an hour or so since I got back from the gym. I just changed, got ready, and now I'm going to do an online tutoring session powered by my school. It makes good money and I'm a broke college student, so. Win win. Morning everyone. Hope you guys are having a decent day even though you're to use the formula too, cuz you don't have to. I have like 30 minutes between my class and session, so I'm just quickly making a chicken salad. I skipped class today to come to construction. You're filming with Ariana and Vicky. It's for a booth. You want to explain what booth is? Booth is when we basically built a house in like six days and we have to tear it down after three days. Yeah, exactly. Not great. But. But you know what, that's okay. Hello. Hello. We are currently driving to Dollar Tree to prepare for our next part of our Rags to riches challenge. So we made $250 on the first day, which is pretty good, right? That's hella solid. Yeah. So we're hoping to nail it down all in one day. Yeah, I didn't see any background. Someone finally came to help. We're working on the matcha. It looks so fire. It's like looking pretty good. Ooh, look how another person just came. A third person has come. Hello. Who's double vlogging? Camera on camera. Action. Hey, Cookie season. Think we have. It's a lot. And we still have a lot more going on here. Wow. This is my little factory line. My little sweatshop. Amazing. Good work, guys. Free eyes. Faster, faster, faster, faster, faster. This is our final batch. Notice how it progressively looks? It looks like a planet that, like, hasn't been inhabited by humans yet. Oh, it's like the craters. Yeah. Today's day off of a run because I woke up earlier than I thought I would, and. Yeah, I don't know, it's a great day outside, so. Breakfast wrap. Done. Oh, rejection. Our first purchase. Dead ass. Well, no, we had another one. Baked cookies. We are now starting the pie section of our fundraiser. 3, 2, 1. Feel about being pie. So good. I can't see. Okay, so we just. We just cleaned up. How are the finances looking, Thomas? Looking good. Looking good. We made a total of $10. $10. Wow.
Look, Saint Virgin.
I'm now walking to this one class I have that's off campus. It's right next to a boba store, which I sometimes get, but not today.
Left my old ways for my future acquisitions. I know.
I just got back into my room. I made myself a little snack. Apple and peanut butters. I'm only halfway through my day and I'm so exhausted. Like, I don't know how I'm keeping up, but. Yeah. How are you feeling? I feel really good. I'm honestly just doing the basics, as in painting the base. And then they're fixing the way that I painted. Don't worry, I'll fix up your work. Don't do it, guys. I don't know if you guys can see, but I took a bunch of portraits of a bunch of random people.
A little bit, maybe a little more. Just trying to keep a score. Two cups in and knowing my liver sore and knowing I'm into sore and knowing I'm in for more. Rewriting destiny. Right when I hit record. Patching up the trauma, getting ready to.
Go prepare for my hackathon. Because we go into the final round. All that hard work paid off. Yeah, Super. I'm super frazzled because I have so much going on and I have rehearsals, but we'll get through it. Post presentation. We did well. We did well. We're rewarding ourselves with a capsule grain bowl. Oh, this is a really sad remote. Photographers, rise up. So we're getting ready for the final. Living old. Yeah, we did it.
