a Fall HARD Reset (pantry cleaning, disasters, talking about goals and my disorganized life)

Eunice Lai films a day reorganizing her life for fall: cleaning out her pantry, meal planning to cut her $200/week grocery spend, and setting up systems in Notion to hit five workouts a week and sleep by 12:30. She's also editing her closet for colder weather and mapping out goals for the rest of the year.

So it is 8am right now and today is gonna be my hard reset day. So I just came back from my fall break so there is seven weeks of school left and three months of life. Not life. Three months of this year. Yeah, dear months of this year left. So I just kind of want to get my shit straight and just, yeah, like feel I finish the year really strong because I kind of spent my fall break like trying to optimize my life on notion and reading like self help books like Atomic Habits. And I'm kind of inspired by it. So I want to try to do a hard reset day at set some systems, making some new goals and finish the year really, really strong. So, yeah, join me on my little adventure today. Let's start off by going to the gym.
It.
So I just got back to my.
Room and I just picked up this little microphone so hopefully the audio would be better. And now I'm gonna take a shower and eat, have a little breakfast smoothie. Okay. I can't figure out the lighting in here and I don't really have time to. But while I'm eating my little breakfast smoothie, I'm gonna just do some of my homework tasks so I can spend the rest of the day dedicated to optimizing my life.
So this is a little random intermission to my little study session, but I also have to take studio photos for a part product. So yeah, once I get this done, we are back to our reset.
And I'm back in my little apartment. But I'm in my kitchen because I plan on inventorizing. Is that how you say it? Inv. Inventory, izing in, inventor, whatever. You get the idea. But I'm going to go through my entire kitchen and see what I already.
Have because I don't really remember.
I've been gone for a week and honestly, I might find some nasty stuff. So it'll be a little surprised. So you guys might be wondering why I'm doing this because it seems like a tedious process and yeah, it is. But I'm cooking alone. I'm just cooking for myself. So I think food goes bad way easier. Goes bad way easier because I'm just cooking a lot less at a time. And I don't know, for my first seven weeks of school, my grocery budget has been atrocious. Like I've been spending like $200 a week and I'm not cooking any gourmet food or anything. So there's no justification for that to be happening. So, yeah, I just want to see what I have and I want to just reduce my food base, you know? Yeah, I am back with my lunch. I kind of went to panic mode and stopped filming, as you can imagine.
Because I think making sure the place.
Doesn'T burn down is a bit more important. But anyways, I'm gonna eat my lunch now and I'm gonna start going through my meal tracker that I've made and I'm gonna see what I have because I actually realized I have a lot of ingredients. So I'm gonna see what I already have and try make some meal ideas for the next week so that I can go grocery shopping efficiently later. Sam. I'm now at Target, so I usually go to Trader Joe's to buy my groceries because I heard it's cheaper. And honestly, it just feels more organic and healthy. But now I'm in Target to finish up my grocery shopping and to buy a yoga mat because that's going to be part of my system that I'm going to implement later.
Now, now comes the rant part of this video where I kind of talk about the goals and systems I want to set for the remaining part of the year. So my main goal is health, probably because I've just been perpetually sick since the start of this year, and it's horrible. I'm so tired of being congested all the time. I'm also partially deaf right now because there's just so much mucus and gross shit everywhere. So, yeah, I want to improve my physical health, and this will be done by exercising. So I want to exercise five times a week. I need to eat well, so just eat healthier. And I need to sleep more because I'm a morning person and a night person at the same time. So I just don't get enough sleep in general. So I want to create a night routine that will get me in bed by 12 and sleeping around 12:30. So I have a full eight hours. And with the. I also want to improve my mental health, I guess, because I've just.
I've been.
I've been going through it. So I just really want to learn to adapt to my new environment and be okay with where I am. And I guess along with that, I want to learn how to slow down and pay attention. So if you saw my little kitchen fiasco earlier, that just comes from me being too stressed all the time and trying to move too fast. And that just causes you to make little mistakes. Like literally yesterday I accidentally broke my glass because I accidentally smacked it with my computer. So there's just always so much on My mind. And I just want to de stress and take life slowly so I can appreciate the things around me more and also just make less silly little mistakes. I also want to do a little closet clean out sometime in the next few weeks. Because this is my first time living somewhere cold. I don't actually have a lot of winter clothes. So I think this is a good time for me to start doing this. And yeah, I kind of want to have a cleaner aesthetic. Yeah. So we'll see. We'll see how we can implement that. Lastly, I just want to develop some microhabits that can make such an impact in your life. So this may include drinking enough water, getting your step counts in like daily gratitude in the morning, something like that. I used to make fun of it, but I think it's kind of necessary in my life now. But yeah, the way that I'm gonna try to implement all these systems and goals and habits and to constantly remind me to do them is through notion. I'm not sponsored by notion, but I really love it right now. I've been using it to track everything from my habits to my systems to my workouts, to my meal plans.
Everything's on my notion.
And yeah, I just wanted to end a video just kind of saying, like, it's not easy to get into habits and to have the perfect optimized life immediately. As you can tell from today, it was super chaotic and it was totally out of my control. And I don't know, I felt a little bit sad that my day didn't go as perfectly as I thought it would as I was recording it. But that's okay that that's part of the process. We live and we learn and hopefully once everything sets in and I'm more used to routine and more used to just like, being the ideal self that I want to be, it will all fall into place. But yeah, thank you for coming along and good night.
