A message from our co-founder

Jeff, co-founder of Firestart Marketing, built marketing tech for Google and Oracle before helping his friend Curt automate content creation and distribution. That experience revealed a gap: solo entrepreneurs had plans but no time to execute them. Firestart solves that with AI-powered content and automation.

Hi, I'm Jeff, co-founder of Firestart Marketing. I wanted to take a moment to tell you about the company and what this channel and our business is all about. Bottom line, we spent our careers building marketing technology for enterprise customers. In our careers, we were lucky enough to have a lot of advanced knowledge, um, and help build the internet. In internet marketing as there is, as it is today. And we got to work for companies that help to define how marketing actually works today. Companies that we've worked for and the technologies that we built now, now are in play at companies like Google, Oracle, Adobe, and many more. But now we've decided to focus our energy on helping what we think is a largely ignored group: small business owners and solo entrepreneurs. I kind of stumbled into this, by the way. I was laid off in August from a company that was doing some pretty cool work with generative and agentic AI models. And at first I thought I was going to go down that same path and build something really cool and strategic for enterprises. But then one of my now business partners, Curt DeMarais, was struggling with his small business and asked me to help him with his marketing. I get asked that a lot by my friends who run small businesses because I— they know I'm in marketing and they know I've spent my career in marketing, but it's always been tough for me to give them advice. I could tell them what they really needed to do, but the truth is that they could never really have the resources or the time to execute a full marketing strategy that we came up with. But the truth is, is that marketing only works when it is kind of a complete strategy. You can't do one-off little things and you can't be inconsistent. You really have to put energy into it. And so it does take a lot of effort to get it right. And small business owners don't really have the time to execute that on their own and often lack the money to pay for agencies to do it right for them or work with agencies that I don't really know what real marketing is all about. But Curt was persistent with me. And so while on the phone, I used my marketing knowledge and my AI knowledge to build him a really solid marketing plan. And he loved it. But then he said what I thought he would, which is, how am I gonna find time to execute all of this? So I went back to AI and I said, what if I generate all your content for you? And I did. I generated him emails and social media posts and blog posts and everything that he needed in his tone of voice that he could use over the next month. And I told him I would do that every month for him. It was pretty straightforward and easy for me to do. So Kurt was pretty dumbfounded and, and took all that information and looked over it, the content. And then he asked the next question. So now what do I do? How do I put that out there? I'm like, well, just copy and paste it into the channels and then hit send. So Kurt looked at me a little funny and when, when he thought, when am I gonna have time for that? I mean, he does spend his whole day working on cars and, and the last thing he wants to do is run his marketing at the end of the day. So I agreed to automate it for him. But as I got like 2 hours in automating it for him and trying to connect all of his systems and all that kind of stuff, I realized He's not alone. There's more people like him out there who still need something like this. So I built some requirements and built a, a, a dev team, and we built the software. So here's what we're setting out to do with a small business owner. We want to create a company that, one, creates time for you in your day, two, provides you with direction and help to build your business. 3, deliver and measure success on that help. And finally, support— give you support to ensure that you have a world-class marketing effort to help you build to your dream, whatever that dream may be. Whether you're trying to grow into a unicorn or you just want to create a great lifestyle for yourself, we're here to help you out. On this channel, the plan is to put out 3 videos per week. One will be from one of us 3 talking about our journey, or we may even let you into a meeting that we have every week or something that we want to share with you that kind of highlights how we think about working with you guys every day. We're going to offer weekly tips on how to do your best marketing. We already have some of those in the channel now. Encourage you to go look at those videos, try and keep them around 5 to 7 minutes of one concept at a time to, to really help you figure out How do you build your marketing plan? And finally, we hope to start a short podcast where we can bring in some of our marketing expert friends, and we have plenty of those, and showcase some of our customers who are doing great work to help you give ideas on how to improve your business. I hope that you find it all useful and plan to interact with us. I'm really looking forward to sharing this journey with you, and I'm hopeful that we can bring you whatever you need to be successful in your business. Bye for now.
