In this brief excerpt, Debilyn Molineaux shares a teaser from her pilot research that employed a standard eight‑question interview to explore individuals' preferred futures. If I, if I can just give another little teaser here, in the, the pilot research that I've done using the standard 8-question interview about what your preferred future is, so it's some me sitting down asking questions and being a really dedicated listener and asking somebody about the future they want to envision for themselves, what they prefer, material things don't come up, escapism doesn't come up, What comes up is they want to feel deeply connected to the people near them. They want to be in a community where they feel like they belong, and they want to contribute back. And that contribute back is really what gives me hope. It was in every— those three things were in every interview I conducted for our pilot project.
