I think learning how to really like lean into those experiences has been really beneficial and really helpful. And so meeting with our mutual friend Frederik, reading his book, The Now, I think that it really gave me those skills to understand how to navigate that change in such pivotal moments of your life, especially when you're losing something as big as a job and really understanding that you can look at life from two different perspectives. And that's looking at it from a negative perspective and woe is me and these things always happen to me and getting stuck versus an abundance mindset of like, I can do this, I have the capability, and I'm already doing things in my life that will help drive me to the person that I want to be. And so really honing in that mindset has been really beneficial for me to help navigate life. Then I remember him telling me this really amazing advice about the fact that I really just have to believe and tell myself that everything is going to work out and that I can't wait for these moments to happen. I have to start now because because again, the future is now. And that really there's a lot of beneficial things that are happening in my life. He really helped me to reframe my mindset on even though there's all of these things that are going wrong and I'm hyper-fixating on those experiences. He also asked me like, what are some good things that are happening? And so from that conversation, I laid out all of the good things that are happening and started to reframe my mindset from, oh, I don't have this to I already have this. And it's just focusing on those experiences and those things that I already have to help elevate me to my future Katie self. So here I am on this luxury sail yacht in the middle of the ocean, and we have Starlink on the boat. So I'm getting ready for my first night shift, and my landlord calls me, and I'm like, I didn't know I could receive calls. So I answer the phone, and I tell him I'm on the boat, I'm so excited. And he's like, well, I'm actually calling with some sad news. And I go up to the deck, and I will never forget this. One of the older gentlemen that was on the crew, he said, Katie, the dolphins arrived just in time for you. And this is 10 PM at night, mind you. And I go up and there's fog that surrounded the cabin of the boat and it's swirling and I see the water and there's bioluminescence in the water. And then there's dolphins that are torpedoing to the boat like 20 miles per hour and then they just start jumping. So what an experience to lose my house in the same moment, be able to experience something that most people won't get a chance to experience in their lifetime, being surrounded by bioluminescence. Bioluminescent dolphins in the middle of the ocean. I've still been your child.
