Dr. Frederik G. Pferdt suggests asking AI for probing questions instead of answers. Rather than seeking direct solutions to problems about relationships, work, or decisions, request one to three questions that force you to think deeper. The shift from answer-seeking to question-receiving clarifies your thinking and leads to better insights.

On the next topic that comes to your mind, instead of asking AI for an answer, ask AI for a question. Whether it is the relationship with your dog or the decision at work, a philosophical topic, you know, we have been trained for decades to perceive, I would say, an open command line like, you know, the Google search bar or the Amazon search bar as a way to ask something and get an answer. But the truth is we can also go to it and ask a like for a question, right? Like, like, uh, and so I would propose this simple experiment is on any given topic, even a small trivial topic, ask AI to ask you one question or maybe even three questions. Say, hey, ask me three questions on this topic, whichever questions you think are going to help me think about this in a clearer, better, smarter way. And I can't wait, wait for you to find out where that leads you because it will lead you in a new territory and you'll probably be grateful for it.
