Can you grow your own Ube?! Let’s see if I grew anything besides purple vines🍠#garden #ube #plants
In this informal garden vlog, Nicole Johnsey Burke shares her personal experiment of trying to grow ube (purple yam) at home after purchasing a starter plant on eBay. She plants the ube in a whiskey barrel, monitors its root development, and repeatedly digs into the soil looking for tubers. Throughout the video she references her children’s excitement about ube ice cream and the hype around ube as a superfood, using the project as a way to impress them. After several attempts, she finally uncovers a small “baby ube” tuber, celebrating the modest success of her DIY gardening effort.
