a typical day in the life of a trading entrepreneur living in Dubai

A Dubai trading entrepreneur walks through his day: a 9 am team call with 36 community members, mentorship sessions, and reviews Q1 results showing a 180.4% increase over last year. He explains how he promotes top traders into mentor roles and builds a profitable education business to scale his impact.

We come in peace, peace, peace. From the west to the east, north to the south.
Need to be quiet because the Soph's still asleep, but let's go and do a run of some sort. I'm supposed to be doing 10K, but I haven't run in like 2 weeks, so we'll see.
You sit and watch the sky turning ever gray, black and white, watching money leading men astray. When I said it made my belly gank, my belly ganked every day.
Yo, it never changed.
I wasn't ready for the grave. My grandfather getting knuckled by the pepper spray.
10 to 9. Itinerary for today is Team Call at 9 with the community members, then got a call with my mentorship team just after that. I've got an interview with one of my students at some point this afternoon, basically assume that. I think he joined us 3 weeks ago, he's already got himself a $50K funded account, so we're going to do an interview with him. And then I've got a one-on-one mentorship call with one of my students later on today. In between that, I've got— we're onboarding a new closer. I'll take you along for the ride. I'll give you a few insights into running the business, how I'm trading around running the business as well. If we take any trades, I'll share those as well. So I've got 10 minutes to my team call, so I'm gonna go get in the office and get things ready. Good morning, troops! How are you doing? Welcome, welcome. So as always, we will obviously give everybody a little bit of time to get in. We'll start in a few minutes or so, but as always, we'll have a little run through the markets, right? Nothing ever changes. Every single trade we take is exactly the same. And again, you can see that repetition, right? Sweep of liquidity, 1-minute chop with the imbalance. A day in the life. We've just finished up our weekly coaching call. Yeah, everybody's saying hi. What's that? We got 36 people on this morning. Celebrate this night with me. End of Q1 was yesterday, so going over all of Q1 numbers, I just want to understand performance, understand how I've traded, but also understanding how my business has performed. I think it gets frowned upon a lot in the trading space and having an education company, but if our purpose is to help traders become profitable right? If that is the, the root of what we're doing, the only way we're going to be able to serve the masses is if we have a well-built business. Our business has to be profitable. Our business has to make money in order for us to grow and reach the amount of people that we want to help. So yeah, we could have had a better start to the year, but we're 180.4% up, uh, on last year's run rate. So if we continue this, then yeah, we'll, we'll do really, really well and we'll be able to serve a lot of, a lot of clients. But so whenever somebody comes through our ads, watches the free training, the first port of call is I'm gonna— they're gonna be speaking to one of our closers. So we've just onboarded a new closer. Again, that's a, that's a problem in itself, right? Really making sure that we're getting the right people, so we're not— making sure that they're not going to be selling the wrong people into the program, um, making sure that everybody who joins a program understands really what it entails and what they actually and the work they need to put into to get the results. And I've actually got a call in like 15 minutes with, uh, our mentorship team. So last month we took on a new mentor. With mentors, I really like to hire internally. I always like to find people within my community that are doing really well, understand things well, have good communication skills, good empathy, and I like to just bring them in, right? I mean, if somebody's come through my program got results, proven themselves, they're probably the best people to mentor the new people, right? Because they've, they've already walked that walk, they've started that journey themselves. Uh, yeah, I've got a call with George and Henry, um, two of our coaches, uh, in just a minute. Um, but yeah, I'll keep you up to date on whether I'll take any trades. I mean, it doesn't really look like much is going to happen this morning. Yeah, nothing really happening just yet, but if we do have anything, I'll keep you up to day. But yeah, I'll speak to you in a bit. We about, what, 2, 3 weeks in? A month in? Yeah, it started, um, I think the first one was around 14th, 15th of March. I've done, um, 15 calls now. Cool, awesome. We have to remember we've got a duty of care for these people, and we're holding up our end of the bargain by making sure that they're progressing through through the training. And if they show up and they say like, okay, I haven't been through the training, then we have to have an SOP in there to say, okay, well, in that scenario, what do we do? Like, if they've not been through the training, our job then is to make sure that we get them engaged again. Taking one call with you, Dave George. Oh yeah, one second. Yeah, what a surprise. Food gets delivered. Oi! Food gets delivered. Do you want some? Do you want some chicken? Cheese? Do you want to go outside? Do you want some? Do you want some of my food? Yeah, what a surprise. Food gets delivered and then Fatty comes here.
Oi! Oi!
Yeah, a little Chipotle. No carbs in the day. He's got veggies, chicken, steak, sour cream, and a bit of cheese, and then obviously some lettuce. But if I, if I eat, if I eat carbs in the day, yeah, it's game over, game over. So usually just eat protein and fats in the day, keep myself fresh, keep myself sharp. But yeah, he's gonna be spying on me while I stay in my food. So not really much on the markets for today. Um, I mean, price has moved pretty nicely, to be fair. You can even see that. Yeah, price has moved pretty nicely, to be fair. We've rerun our liquidity, which is pretty much what we're looking to see, but no real entry. There's no entry in there, but we're pretty much running to exactly where we're anticipating. Um, there was a nice trade here yesterday which I'm going to do, um, I'm going to do a little breakdown on. I'm going to do a little breakdown on this. We haven't really had much today, to be fair. I mean, usually like markets go in cycles, so one day you have trades, following day you're probably not going to have one. So Yesterday we had this, we had this move here. It was a little bit unorthodox, but it still, it still traded within the sort of criteria that I want to see. So this was a New York session trade, and this is kind of what I call like a New York liquidation, where you see price essentially take liquidity to fuel the move in its intended direction. So you can see here how through London session we essentially just built this we built this structure here. Um, we did have a run of this liquidity here, which is essentially what got us to this point. But then as New York opened, we had a run into this liquidity, we had a run into this little supply chain that's been formed here on the lower time frame. And then essentially what we're saying is that there should theoretically be pressure coming from above here that's going to lead this to essentially peel over and run to the downside. So if you drop down to that 1-minute this was like a 7.77 risk-to-reward position. We can see what's happened here is we've had that bearish chock. Um, now I must preface this, this was based on MetaTrader, so TradingView charts and MetaTrader charts always going to be marginally different, um, just because you're trading off of different servers. But this candle here on MetaTrader had actually traded above this high, so this was a shift in structure here. But then this shift has in turn created this imbalance behind. So it tells us this, that this run liquidity is actually— there's something happening here, it's not just a nothing move. And then taking the entry as we pull back into that imbalance, stops go just above. And then because we're only using the 1-minute execution and we're expecting a 15-minute move, typically what's going to happen here is price is going to use this liquidity to create a continuation in structure. So We can obviously see here that the bearish structure has been developed. We've run buy-side liquidity, which then sees us run into, into this next week low here to see that continuation to the downside. So really nice position, 7.77%. So I mean, even if you cut this short for 5R, you're, you're still quids in on this position. But yeah, pretty textbook move. And I would usually invalidate trades that close twice past liquidity. But because the entry came within that first candle and this second candle hadn't closed, I'm still taking this as a, as a valid move. But yeah, pretty nice, pretty nice move. Um, today there's not been a great deal. I mean, there was potential longs in here, but it didn't meet my entry criteria to take it. I couldn't get an entry in this move here, so didn't take this position. Move on to the next one. Um, And again, like, you always see signs, right? There's always signs. If you can't get into a trade where you'd usually want to, that would typically mean it's not going to run where you want it to. So I mean, this would be an initial target, I guess, but you'd kind of expect it to lead on to this high being taken. But what's the time now? So yeah, we're sort of coming into New York session now, so we might have something. But again, I'm not overly bothered. We'll keep an eye, set some alerts and see what happens. Yeah, I mean, really trading is, is just about really knowing what you want to see, right? It's not about trying to find something every day. It's about being very specific. I want to see X, Y, and Z happen, and when X, Y, and Z happens, I'm going to take the trade, right? There's obviously— there's a million opportunities, but if you don't have focus when it comes to your trading, I mean, you're never going to see consistent profits, right? It's all about having that edge, understanding what setups are going to give you that edge, and then just sticking to it. Let me, let me show you the view. I know everybody always sees this view, but let me give you a bit of an insight as to where I live. I basically live in a place called Dubai Harbour. So you've got Marina there, JBR there, um, like, I don't know if you can see it, but the Burj Khalifa is there. Burj Al Arab is, is just there. Ted loves the balcony, but it's too hot out here, so he's never out here. But actually, I've opened the door for 2 seconds and he's, and he's run out. But yeah, sick. We have our own private beach on both sides. Literally, like, the other side of this building is the Palm. But yeah, I wanted a— kind of wanted the city view. But yeah, I think, I mean, it's really important, right? I think I think having— I think living somewhere that keeps you motivated, I think, is so important. Like, literally my office is in here. I have the view straight out. But yeah, I've always been— I always want to live somewhere that keeps me motivated. Like, yeah, you could come to Dubai and you can live out in the sticks, but I think it's important to have— I mean, like, literally superyachts everywhere, and you see the hustle and bustle of the city. So Yeah, I like to live places that keep me motivated. I love the view. Every day you wake up, it just gives you a reminder to work harder. But yeah, sick place, sick place. Very high. I'm slightly scared of heights, so makes me a bit nervous being here. But yeah, awesome place. Oh crumbs. Right, okay, so I've just finished the interview with my student Matt. Um, to be fair, he's actually been mentored by one of our mentors, so he's not actually my student, but he's been through my training and loved my strategies. He, uh, he'd basically been trading like a few years before. He had a strategy that was only netting him like 2% a month. The edge was only about 2% a month, so he's finding it difficult to get funding. I mean, a strategy like that is fine, but you need like a million quid in funding to to make that work. So he was struggling with that, and then he joined us, uh, like 3 weeks ago, got himself— he was in drawdown on his Phase 2 of his FTMO $50K account. He was like 5% in drawdown. Within 3 weeks, he's passed it. So yeah, he's done really well, made like 10%. Um, so just done an interview of that with him. He'll— that'll be up on my YouTube very soon, but I'm just I'm just uploading this footage, like literally this exact footage. I'm just uploading this for my editor to put together. But I've got a call in 25 minutes with one of my students, Colin. We're going to go through and review his trade, see where he's at. Um, and then yeah, this evening I don't know what I'm going to do. I don't know what I'm doing this evening. Um, haven't got anything else on, no more calls. I'm building Forex Kickstarter 3.0. I'm building out a new program, which is a massive task. So I might get some of that done. I might go out and get in the sun for a bit, but we'll see. Um, can you let me know again what you need for that TradeZilla stuff? Fairly typical day in my life. I mean, really pretty uneventful, and this is pretty much 90% of what my life looks like. Waking up every day and just ticking the boxes, ticking the boxes for process that is already proven. That goes for trading as well as business. And a lot of entrepreneurs, a lot of traders, they, they kind of get lost in this, right? They might follow that process for a little bit, then they make a bit of money and they fall off the wagon, right? They fall for the pitfalls of just living life, and then they forget to tick those boxes. And when you forget to tick those boxes you don't get the results that you want. So today's been a fairly good day, wrapped up Q1, of course, run over numbers, looking good so far. Um, targets are set for Q2. We've taken action on, on making sure those targets have hit. So today we have obviously run has been ticked off, weekly coaching call has been ticked off, a student interview has been ticked off. Um, mentorship calls have been ticked off. I've placed the trades. I'm actually in a trade at the moment. Um, it was fairly uneventful in the markets, but I got in a trade a couple of hours ago. It's not really running too much, but we're currently about 1% up or so. I'm gonna get risk removed from that position, so we'll see how that plays. But yeah, fairly typical day in my life. Um, I mean, it does get a little bit more exciting than this, but The aim of this is to build and show what it takes to build a trading education company alongside maintaining profitability as a trader. Remember, just keep ticking those boxes. Really, entrepreneurship is man versus man, woman versus woman, company versus company. And really, it's just who can deal with the most crap for the longest, and they're the ones that are going to get the results at the end of the day. So it's just about completing these— it's about ticking these boxes for as long as possible. And the more you do that, the more you follow that process, the better the results become. So I hope you enjoyed this one, and I'm sure there'll be plenty more.
