How We Helped Paul Go From 0 to $200k Funded In 60 Days

Paul went from failing funded trading challenges to securing $200,000 in funding in 60 days using George's program. After losing his first $100k account to phone trading and revenge trading, he rebuilt with a dedicated workspace, 3% risk per trade, and a 1:3.8 risk-to-reward ratio. His advice: treat trading as a business, be patient, and take profits early.

So imagine this: you come onto a sales call with my team and you make the outrageous claim that you're going to get funded quicker than anybody else has done ever in the history of the community. And then just 60 days later, you do exactly that. This is the story how my student Paul came from some pretty poor education, some signals failing tens of funded challenges to within 60 days learning my strategies, getting funded once with $100K but making a very, very bad mistake and losing the account on the same day that he got it. I shouldn't laugh at that, but it's quite funny. And then very shortly after, getting things right again and getting funded with $200K. So this is the story of how Paul went from unprofitable to $200K in funding in 60 days after taking his, uh, taking his trading to the next level through our training. I hope you enjoy this one, and I'll see you in the next. I mean, it's interesting to say the least. I must admit, it's very, very interesting hearing, sort of having a conversation with Joshua and sort of how that first call went, speaking with George. And, and yeah, I just wanted to hop on, really get you on a call and really just find out a little bit about your story, really. It's, uh, very interesting for me, and I'm sure for anybody who's going to end up watching this, I'm sure it's going to be very interesting for them as well. So I guess we could start by if you could give a bit of an introduction to yourself.
Yeah. Okay. Yeah. Well, my name is Paul, obviously, and I guess, well, I've worked in financial services since I left school, which is a very long time ago. And so, yeah, at one point I just thought I've run a couple of businesses over the years again in financial social services. Um, I guess, um, you know, about a year ago I, I was on Facebook and saw some, some sort of trading sort of adverts that you see on Facebook, and, um, I ended up, um, joining, um, like a signals group and things like that, like most people start. Um, unfortunately, um, yeah, that was going sort of okay, but if I'm honest, it was, um it was very hit and miss because, you know, you get a signal and if you don't jump on it straight away, you miss it or you get in late and all that sort of thing. So there was a part of me that knew that it wasn't for me and it was, you know, I needed to learn how to do it myself. And that was really where it all started. And then unfortunately, this time last year, my wife actually had a stroke and she ended up in hospital for 3 months, which obviously put, you know, put my sort of plans for trading on hold. You know, she's doing really well, which is fantastic. Um, so I picked it back up again sort of September last year, um, the trading side of things. And, uh, yeah, um, joined, joined an American sort of training group, uh, which, you know, I'm not knocking them, they were good. Um, they, you know, taught me some bits, but, um, it just didn't, didn't feel right to me. This wasn't quite right. Um, I think a lot of that to do was sort of time differences and stuff like that. Um, you know, start— starting your day at half past 2 in the afternoon for me didn't quite fit with my lifestyle. You know, I'd prefer to do it in the morning and, you know, have the afternoons to myself, really. Um, you know, I guess, you know, over the— over that period of time, I didn't know that— well, I felt that trading would, would work. Um, and that's why I've sort of stuck with it. Um, I did do some, um, some challenges, uh, through an American, um, through that, that's trading as well. But I failed several times. I mean, you know, almost double digit. I think it was double digit times. So I soon gave up on that one. Um, and then I saw you on Facebook, um, and I thought, well, no, he seems like a genuine guy. Um, and, um, I sort of listened to a few of your videos, watched a bit, um, and then, uh, made some inquiries. Obviously had a chat with Joshua, who, um, was very knowledgeable about the, you know, the, the course and everything that goes on and and sort of very enthusiastic about it. And he sort of helped me make that decision to join. It was a bit of a leap of faith, if I'm really honest. But I got in and went through all your training and it just made a lot of sense to me. Do you know what I mean? The way you put it across is very straightforward and it's understandable. I guess I've got a slight advantage in the fact that I've worked in the industry for many years, so I understood sort of how markets worked and you know, at a sort of a high-level concept of sort of supply and demand and stuff like that. But obviously the training you provided has gone deeper and helped me understand it more and to be able to use it, if I'm really honest. Yeah, and that's sort of where I am now with you.
Yeah, no, I obviously went through the team and just had a bit of an understanding as to I mean, really, I wanted to understand what went on because it's only been around about 2 months, I think, since you joined, just over 2 months. And yeah, from my, from my conversation with Joshua, I believe on the call you were saying something along the lines of who's done, who's got funded the quickest or something along those lines. He was like, who's the quickest and I'm going to beat it. It was something along those lines. And I think, I think you kind of came to the conclusion that you wanted to get this done in about 60 days and Yeah, I think we've done it in about 60 days, right?
Yeah, well, it's been about 10 weeks. I think I've been with you guys just under 10 weeks, started on the 26th of February. Um, and, um, yeah, my, my goal was to get funded as soon as I could. Um, I did manage that. Um, uh, when did I get to the end of April? I got my first account. Um, I lost it quite quickly. I made a huge mistake and I've learned from that, but it was human error. So I still have faith in the fact that, you know, it works. So I went out and I thought, right, I've just lost 100, so let's go for 200 because that was the plan anyway to get 200. So I thought, well, might as well just do it. And, you know, touch wood, this morning I've passed the verification on the second stage. So yeah, amazing.
Amazing. So obviously you came into, into this with an amount of knowledge. You, you had some experience in the markets already.
Yeah.
Walk me through a little bit about sort of how you approached that sort of first 30 days, because obviously you've sort of digested the information, learned the strategies very, very quickly, and put yourself in a really great position to just really hit the ground running, really. So what was that first 30 days for you like in terms of routine and sort of going through the training and application, stuff like that?
Yeah, I am fortunate enough that, you know, I could spend the time going through the training. So I did devote quite a lot of time to the training and I watched, you know, pretty much every single video. I watched some more than once, made notes. I did do a little bit of homework, although I'm not very good at doing homework, so I didn't do a lot. But I don't know what to say really. It just made sense. Um, I spent quite a lot of time on a demo account, um, just trading, you know, obviously no money whatsoever, just, just, just, and spending a lot of time on the charts just watching, um, you know, the price action and the way the markets were moving. Um, as I say, doing, um, sort of demo trades, um, on a demo account, um, and then I decided that I'd go for a sort of a free trial with a funding company, and I passed that twice. So I thought, right, that's time to go for it. So yeah, that initial thing was just really, really watching all the videos. The other part of it was, and again, I don't know, the sort of the webinars that you guys do, and you can watch them recorded, which are great. The examples that you've got that we can watch that have been recorded, and also the Q&A sessions. Whilst I don't go on them, I do watch them. And, you know, everybody's got the same sort of questions, haven't they, at the end of the day. So your question comes up, and yeah, I've learned an awful lot from that on top of the training videos, really.
Yeah, so I guess for you, really, it was like, let me just get the information down and let me just put it into practice. I find I mean, from the people that we work with, it's very much about, okay, let me just get those reps in as quickly as possible. And then once you've done that, you kind of— the next logical step is to say, okay, let's just go and try and do this for real now.
Yeah, yeah, absolutely. Yeah, and that, yeah, that's, that's it really. It's just that repetition. It's that, um, I don't know, your brain remembering what, what it looks like when it happens, when, when it moves right, and you can get on the back of it.
Yeah, yeah, definitely. So when, when sort of beginning to undertake like a, a real challenge, I guess, for I guess coming off the back of losing quite a lot of challenges and failing quite a lot of challenges, how did you approach this challenge, the first challenge you did, sort of after learning sort of what we teach? Did you take sort of a different approach? Had your mindset shifted in any way?
Um, I think the mindset had shifted. Um, I think I respected the markets more, if you know what I mean. Um, the way I approached it was, was to just go for it and, and you know, I, I know it sounds a bit blasé, but you know, you, you, you pay for the challenge and, you know, I guess that's what you can lose. And again, it's not, not a small amount of money as such, but, um, you know, and, and it was just go for it. Um, I did— I failed the first one, um, and that was, um, due to overtrading. Um, you know, I think one day I did 18 trades or something stupid like that. And when you look back, why did I do that? Um, so, uh, and I learned from that second time around. Um, so yeah, it was a question of, you know, staying a bit patient, watching for the right things at the right time. Um, you know, being conscious of not overtrading. Um, one thing I've learned very, very recently is, um, to not— I found myself trying to, to earn too much money off one trade. And I know you guys recommend a 3% return on a trade, which, or 3R, which, if I'm honest, that's what I'm doing now. I've just started doing that and I'm not doing any more than that. And what I found was actually it's enough to get you through the challenge if it works. And what I did find was a lot of trades were sort of coming back on me, and even before I'd got into breakeven, I was losing money on them. So again, that was a big learn from from the whole experience, really. Yeah.
And did you find the whole sort of— because we're very mechanical with the way that we sort of get people to do things— did you find having that sort of mechanical aspect behind the way that you were trying to do things, did you find that that was helping you to sort of focus on doing the right thing as opposed to just doing anything?
Yeah, definitely. Yeah, without a doubt. You know, having those rules, for want of a better phrase, is— you almost need it. You know, you've got those rules to stick to. You know, if you see this, this, and this, do that. Um, if you don't see it, don't do it. And you know that, and that makes a lot of sense, and it, and it, and it does work.
Yeah, no, 100%. I, I definitely find, I mean, with a lot of people that we speak to, especially people that have come from a similar background to yourself, which are a fair amount of people that have spent time in the markets, kind of, I always look at it as discretionary, mechanical. You kind of have two sides of things. You're either a discretionary trader, which typically doesn't work in a lot of cases, or you have a sort of mechanical guidance to help you get into the right trades. And often just by simply making that switch and starting to look at things in a mechanical aspect, even if you haven't necessarily got an edge, right? Even if you haven't actually— if you mechanical rules don't have an edge, it does lead you into a much better position, sort of going, going through things that way. Um, so I want to touch on— I want to touch on the, uh, on that first account, because I know you've got 100K in funding, and then I think on the same day that you got the account, you lost it.
Yeah, yeah.
Talk us through that. I mean, what were the mistakes that were made?
So massive mistake was using my phone to trade, um, which I've stopped. I'm also— I'm almost tempted to take the, um, the, the trading app off my phone so it is not even a temptation to do it, although it is nice to watch them if you're, you know, if you've got to go out or whatever. Um, so yeah, it, it was basically a combination of a couple of things. Um, it was a, um, a revenge trade over a loss but done on my phone, um, and I got the wrong lot size in. Um, and basically I turned around to do something, turned around back at my phone, and it just— the market just dropped dramatically. Um, and I'd lost too much money in the first day. Game over.
Yeah.
So I was not best pleased with myself at all.
Yeah, I'm sure.
But, you know, I thought, well, I dusted myself off. I thought, right, that's not happening again. Um, so like I said, I don't use my phone now. Um, I used, um, the, the software that you guys recommend. Um, I've bought myself a, um, a big screen so I can look at the screen rather than a laptop screen, which is, um, again, a hell of a lot better than it was. Um, you know, and that was always the intention, to sort of set myself up in an office environment at home to do it. Um, but for whatever reason, I hadn't got around to it, and I was sitting on the settee with the laptop on my lap and the phone by the side of me to place the trades and stuff like that. And then I thought, well, if you're going to take it seriously, you've got to do it seriously, do you know what I mean? So, um, and that's what I've done, set up a little area, and I've got a, you know, proper setup now, and it's working much, much better. The improvement dramatically overnight.
Yeah, I think I, I think I talk about this in, in the training, and I think in the, in the mindset module, it's about just having, having an environment that is sort of conducive for taking things seriously. I think a lot of traders come into this and they think that because it's kind of easy to do per se, not necessarily get it right, but it's easy to do. It's very easy to just click on a trade and potentially make some money. You kind of, you feel like it's a hobby more than it is a, a career and a job, and people don't take it as seriously as they need to. And then it's like, well, you actually have to give this far more respect than you think if you want it to provide you with the returns that you want. And often, I mean, many, many people, even myself when I was starting, you make the same mistakes. You, you start to trade with your phone, you revenge trade, and You kind of have to go through those things, I think, in order to get the wake-up call to say, okay, I need to take this seriously.
Yeah, I think you're right, you know. And you say it is a wake-up call, and it's like, well, you know, I'm not letting that happen again. That, that's just not happening, um, you know. And you, and you, you do find yourself doing it because you, you know, you, you put a trade on and it, it rolls back on you, you lose, and you think, no, it's still— I know it's going to work, I know it's going to work. So you revenge on your phone, bang, you're in again. But like I said, Um, I don't— I can't remember what lot size I ended up with, but it was way too much. It's like gone. Um, and that was, you know, just stupidity really, more than anything else. Um, but I thought, right, that's it, let's, let's get it, get it done properly, and, uh, went for the next one.
Yeah, yeah, no, definitely. So how have you managed all of this around your sort of other commitments in life? I mean, I'm sure you're working and doing other things like that, so, so how have you sort of fit trading into your sort of routine and made it work, essentially?
I start 6 in the morning, finish mid-morning if I can, and then I've got the rest of the day to do whatever else I need to do. I'm fortunate I haven't got to be at a place of work at 9:00 in the morning because I run my own business. So I can do the hours I need to do. I can do it from home, my other work. So it's not a problem. I am lucky in that respect.
Yeah. And I guess going forward with your trading, how do you see trading fitting? I guess, what are your goals? I mean, are you looking for this to just be something that you, that you're going to have on the side of your business, you're going to keep sort of juggling the two, or is trading something that you're looking at to say, okay, well, in the next however many years, I kind of want to be able to step away from my business and focus more so on the trading side of things as opposed to juggling them? What are your— what are your—
that is the medium to long-term goal, without doubt. Yeah. To be able to, you know, do this for a living.
Yeah, yeah, no, that's, that's, that's really good. I mean, we get a lot of people that are in very similar situations, and it's kind of like, I've run my business for so many years now, and it's very time intensive. It takes a lot of my energy up. And if I'm looking into the future, I want an option where I can say, okay, I'm just gonna stop doing that. I want to be able to go and travel. I want to be able to do what I want. So if I can have something that can I can wake up at 6 and I can get things done by 10. Yeah. And then the rest of the day's free. I, I want to, want to be able to have that sort of lifestyle.
Yeah, definitely. It's that freedom, isn't it? It's that lifestyle, as you say. It's the freedom, um, financial freedom, um, as well as, you know, your time. If you can do it, um, it's— I think it's, it's possibly one of the very few things that, that you can do that gives you that ability.
Yeah, yeah, no, definitely, definitely. Well, I mean, you, you've done this probably quicker than anybody we've had. I think, remember, I said somewhere, I don't think we've had anybody do it quicker. And I guess it's kind of— you said you were going to do it faster than anyone else, and you've kind of come in and done it faster than anyone else. So, uh, we, we definitely commend you for that. Yeah, with, with that in mind, we've just got to keep it now. Yeah, but hopefully we've learned the lesson from that first 100K, that this, this 200K is going to be, going to be, going to be really good. Um, so I always ask this at the end of every call I have with, with a student. Seeing what you've gone through and sort of how you've got to where you are now, what would be, I guess, 3 tips that you would give to somebody, or 3 recommendations you'd give to somebody that is, I guess, you sort of pre-weTrade? Yeah, I guess somebody that wants to get to the stage where, where you are now.
Yeah, um, I think the 3 things is, is, um Patience. Be patient. Take it seriously, you know, to, to, you spend that time and, and not just on the learning side of it, but when you, when you're involved in it, like I was saying with the, you know, treating it as a, as a, as a proper business rather than a hobby as such. And then really it's, it's just, again, it's, it's, it's not going for too much. You know, sometimes, as I said, I was finding myself Um, you know, my take profit was way up there, and I'm thinking, when I look back on it now, I think to myself, it wasn't going to go there, so why was I putting it there? Do you know what I mean? So actually, take, take, take the profit. Yeah, you know, there'll be another trade to take some more.
Yeah, you know, that's, and that's one thing that I try and get as many people to learn from me, because I've been through that, whether I was going for 1:10s and 1:20 risk-to-reward trades, but now I think my average risk to reward is 1:3.8. Yeah, it's not about catching everything, it's about saying what can I catch in here consistently. And instead of trying to scale your trades through risk to reward and more trades, you just scale it through capital. Like, we've got such a great opportunity to get access to capital now that we don't need to be going for these super high risk to reward trades. Like, you take 3% on 200K, like, yeah, good, it's a good earner, it's a really good earner.
Yeah, yeah, absolutely.
100%. Well, yeah, I do, um, I do appreciate you coming on. Uh, great story, I must admit. Great, great, great story. And I'm really looking forward to seeing how you prosper through the program and community now. And I'm really excited to see some of the results that you get. Um, so yeah, thanks for jumping on with us. And, uh, yeah, I'm sure lots of people are going to learn a lot of things.
