In this demo, the presenter walks through the end‑to‑end deployment of a Citrix SD‑WAN appliance in a home office. After receiving the device, he simply plugs it in, inserts an LTE SIM, and connects it to his wireless router. The corporate SD‑WAN orchestrator automatically pushes the required configuration, placing the appliance in resilience mode with a primary broadband link and a backup LTE link. He then connects a Chromebook to the appliance’s Wi‑Fi, launches Citrix Workspace, and starts a virtual desktop (VDI) session. While streaming an Eddie Van Halen video inside the VDI, he disconnects the primary broadband link; the SD‑WAN instantly shifts traffic to the LTE link, and the video continues without noticeable interruption. The orchestrator UI shows the virtual path changing from the primary to the LTE link, confirming a seamless failover. The presenter highlights how this small‑form‑factor device provides reliable, resilient connectivity for remote workers, especially in a post‑pandemic world where home‑based productivity depends on uninterrupted internet access.

Hi everyone, hope you are keeping well and staying healthy. So as we live in this, in these interesting times where our home office is our best friend and we are highly reliant on our internet links, what happens when the link goes down? It seems like that's our worst nightmare these days because we become completely unproductive and our life pretty much pretty much comes to a standstill. So with that said, I wanted to show you a quick demo of our Citrix SD-WAN appliance that we— I've set up in my home network. So just for some background, I requested for the SD-WAN appliance. It was shipped to me. All I had to do was essentially plug it in, insert my LTE SIM card, and connect it to my network. And the configuration was essentially pushed down by our corporate team using the SD-WAN orchestrator. It was as simple as that. And at that point, the device was ready to go. All I did was I, on the LAN port of the device, I plugged it into, you know, essentially a wireless router, and I have a wireless network coming out of it. And I've connected my Chromebook via that wireless network, and I'm using Citrix Workspace and within Citrix Workspace I've launched a VDI instance as you can see, and so that's launched using our Workspace Client. So if you look at SD-WAN orchestrator, what you'll see is that my primary link is up and running and my virtual path is now through my primary link, but I also have my LTE link at my disposal, and you can see here that my LTE I'm not sure how well you can see this, but I've got 4 bars on my LTE signal right here. So it's up and running. Now in my case, I've set this up where I've got my primary and LTE in resilience mode, which means that at any point in time, only one of the links— the traffic is sent through one of the links, but you can also set it to logically bond and leverage the combined bandwidth if needed. So let's go back to my Chromebook. And let's launch a video on my VDI instance. I'm gonna launch Google Chrome, launch YouTube real quick, and once that comes up, since We are all missing Eddie Van Halen right about now. Let's listen to Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love. Move that to full screen. So now I'm running a YouTube video via my VDI instance launched from Citrix Workspace on a Chromebook. So what I'm going to do next is I'm going to disconnect my primary link from my SD-WAN appliance. There you go, it's down. And at this point, if all goes well, and you can see that what just happened, now I'm running through my LTE link on the SD-WAN appliance, and I'm still watching that video without much of any disturbance. So the VDI session is still running properly, the video is still running. Now let's look at SD-WAN orchestrator to see what's going on there. So if you look there, now you can see that my virtual path has gone from my primary link to my— hopefully I can zoom in, but essentially now it's leveraging the LTE link and it did a seamless failover with no issue to my video and my session. And all is well. So again, what I wanted to show here is that in this current day and age where, you know, remote work is basically what we're all stuck at, and probably for the— in a post-pandemic world, there's going to be a whole lot of remote work as well. It shows you how relevant the Citrix SD-WAN appliances you know, small form factor device that provides you the resilience that you need for your home network, thereby assuring that you can remain productive even if your primary link goes down. So again, Citrix Workspace, Citrix SD-WAN, VDI, the way to go. Go Citrix!
