Well, um, I have been through a long journey of losing weight. Which I started 10 years ago. And of course that affected me all around in my whole lifestyle, my inability to do a lot of things. And I had started on my own, you know, dieting and exercising about 10 years ago. And I've been seeing Dr. Fekhar about 5 years, I believe. And she's helped encourage me and move me along the way on my journey to get down. I've lost 100 pounds, so I've really turned my life around, and it's been a good experience being with her in this office. Well, more or less by monitoring my blood work and monitoring the drop in my A1C, my cholesterol went down, helping me cutting my medicine back. Removing a couple I don't need anymore. I basically did the dieting myself. I didn't ask for any extra help to do any type of dietary pills or anything like that. And I just did it by changing my lifestyle. But it was helpful having her encouragement and also monitoring my progress and seeing my numbers go down and get better in many areas. I was at a pre-diabetic level, and now I'm not even near that anymore. I feel very good, very satisfied. I'm very happy about it. I tell everybody all the time, and I work at it. I just came from an hour workout with my trainer at the gym. So, it's going to be a lifetime— lifelong change that I will not break. It's just something I'm not going to do. I would describe them as being very good and very attentive. It's easy to call up on the phone and get a live person to talk to, which is not always true in all situations, and even other doctors. And they're very accommodating. If I say, "I know my blood pressure isn't as high as you just read it because I I feel the machine's wrong, they'll retake it, and it often is wrong because, you know, when you walk in, you sit down the first time, you're a little higher, and then they redo it, and then I've relaxed a little more, and it comes down to the normal level. Yes, I would definitely recommend that they come here, and I've told other people, friends of mine, about this practice, and, you know, they would get good service. I came here.
I've had allergies, seasonal allergies, um, it affects my sinuses a lot, sneezing, watery eyes, coughing. Dr. Takkar would sit with me, she's my family practitioner, and she would listen to me and, you know, I'll talk about my symptoms, she would, you know, Pretty much all the prescriptions that she's given to me has worked. That has improved my quality of life. Excellent. I'm doing well. Seasonal allergies, I just have to use it for a short time and every year renew. Medical Access has helped me to take better care of myself. In terms of, like, I've been trying to lose weight, keeping up to date with recommended tests, age-related tests, and very good with their follow-up care. They have the top, best doctors because they give you top— make you feel like you're top priority.
I had been to the clinic with my children when they were younger and stuff, and so the doctor that I had was retiring, and I'd had such good experiences with all the doctors here that when that happened, I decided to go ahead and add them on as my primary care physician. I've had my son in boots for broken heels and rashes for my daughter, colds and sicknesses for me. I think that, you know, the most beneficial way that they've been is that I really feel like all of the doctors that I've seen here, I can really trust. You know, they're all very warm and personable. They're not the types that just are like, "Ah, we'll just give you some medicine and fix that up." They're more to push you to do things in a more holistic way without being, you know, over the top, you know, hokey about the whole holistic thing. So, you know, the majority of my experience was with Dr. Jimenez. And he's great, you know, it's always nice to go to the doctor and even if it's just chatting for about life for a few minutes or anything like that, not feel rushed and, you know, during, you know, a few-minute conversation it comes up, "Oh yeah, I forgot I needed to ask you about this or about that," or, you know, not being rushed in and out the door but, you know, still trying to be productive and get things done in a reasonable fashion for all the patients. I would absolutely recommend Medical Access to anyone. Between the care of the doctors and the flexibility in their schedule, I've been with so many other doctors where, you know, even if I'm, you know, deathly ill with the flu, you can't get in to see them or anything else. So having them both as my primary care physician and then having The urgent care aspect of it as well is so nice as compared to other doctors because you always have that secondary option as a way to still get in and be seen.
