The Miracle Morning Community Gathering - 5 Steps to Make 2023 Your Best Year Ever

Recording of a Miracle Morning Community Gathering (hosted by Jeremy Rezig with Hal Elrod and guest Lucy Osborne) on Dec 28, 2022. The event guides attendees through a short SAVERS practice (visualization, movement, affirmations) led by Lucy, then presents a five-step process to make 2023 the best year ever (1. reflect on 2022 — wins, losses, lessons; 2. identify values; 3. set value-aligned goals; 4. create a value-aligned schedule/time-blocking; 5. daily/weekly/quarterly reflection and measurement). The session includes facilitated breakout rooms (60s shares + 15s reflections), community reports, an invitation to share the Miracle Morning movie (made freely available), and a closing song. Tone: uplifting, communal, practical.

Welcome, welcome, welcome. Oh, you can't hear me yet. Hey, everybody. Hello. Hello. Let's see who we got. Hey, Sydney. Hello.
Hello.
What's up, Kathy? Hey, Cindy. Hi, Stacy. Jamie, Deepa, Christopher. Hey, everybody. I can't say all your names or as do many of you. Hello. Can you hear me? Brother James, how are you? Oh, I'm doing great. I just heard a voice in my ears.
Oh, that was Sydney. Hey, Sydney.
Hey. Down to the bottom of the zoom screen, you'll see a little box that says chat. How many of you see the chat box? Can you give me a thumbs up if you see the chat box? Okay, go down to the chat box and go ahead and share where you are zooming in from. Where are you zooming in from?
I'm currently in Dripping Springs, Texas with my buddy Josh, who's looking at me through the window smiling.
Oh, my goodness. Okay, let's see if I can read these. No audio.
Hello.
Good morning. Good afternoon. Switzerland. I'm going to Switzerland in four days. Colombia, Paris, More Switzerland. Ohio. South Africa. Redwood, California. Denver, Colorado. Sweet. Okay. Hey, before we get this thing rocking and rolling and I hand it off to Hal to give an official hello, welcome, and then we have a special experience for you from Lucy Osborne. I would love to invite you.
To think about all the things that you're grateful for.
Right now. For some of you, it's afternoon. For some of you, it's evening. For some of you, it's another month or another year. And before we get going, just want to connect us all to a deep sense of gratitude as we come to the.
What'S something that you're grateful for? Whether that's something about someone in your life or maybe it's about something that's going on with you. Your health, great year financially, successes, breakthroughs, finding, you know, new ways of becoming aware. Maybe that's something you're grateful for. And yeah, go ahead and put it in the chat. Go ahead and put it in the chat. What's something you're grateful for? Maybe it's something about what's emerging in this new year that'd be different for everyone. Grateful for life, grateful for family. Grateful for health. Grateful for hello from London, hello from Texas, A baby on the way, amazing opportunities. Grateful for being alive. Yeah, I always love starting with a little bit of gratitude because it's just a nice way, especially in a group like this, to connect to gratitude for yourself. And then also what I love most about this is when I see everybody else's answers, I'm like, oh, I'm grateful for that. I'm grateful for that. I'm grateful for that. I'm grateful for that. I'm like, I have a lot to be grateful for. So a simple gratitude activity in the chat brings, you know, in the moment abundance into our lives. My name is Jeremy Rezig, AKA Brother James. Hal and I have been friends for many, many years. I'm going to help facilitate this event. How many of you have been to one of these before by raise of hand. And how many of you, it's first time. Let's see your hands go up. Okay, great. Well, I'm honored to be here with you to let go of and celebrate this year that we're just closing out and then to look ahead to what's possible for 20, 23. How many of you, just before we hand it off, how many of you got the workbook? How many of you have a workbook? If you could hold it up? If you do have the workbook. Okay, cool. If you don't have the workbook, no worries at all. Richelle is going to put the link to the workbook in the Zoom Chat and so you can click on that, that link in the Zoom Chat and that will open up a digital copy of the workbook for you. And the workbook has. It's nothing complicated. The best part about the workbook, I think, is this awesome picture of Lucy, who's the creator of spiritual fitness. And Hal is going to introduce her.
Oh, yeah, the Miracle Morning app, too. That's a good one. Cool. We're ready to go. Hal, are you there? I'm going to hand it off to you, my friend.
Yes. Can you hear me?
I can hear you. Great.
Can you see me?
I can. Well, let me see. I can see you.
You can see me. Okay.
Good morning, everybody. Sorry. The reason I'm laughing is about five minutes before we jumped on, I discovered that our laundry room was flooded. So my wife is right across there right now. And sadly, I am not helping her to fix the flood. So you might hear a shop vac in the background as we go. Yesterday our barn flooded. We had a freeze and a pipe broke in our barn. And thank goodness we are going out of town tomorrow. Thank goodness I even went out there. I wasn't even go out there. We would have been in major trouble. We were in a lot of trouble. Spent all day yesterday cleaning our barn. The reason I start by sharing all that with you is that's life, right? That's reality. That wasn't in my notes for today, but that's what I'm dealing with. And I'd imagine that if you are a human being, you are dealing with your own challenges, and you're also dealing with or getting to experience beautiful parts of life. And as we go into 2023, today's theme is how to make this coming year, 2023, your best year ever, literally. How are you going to do that? And we're going to talk about. I'm going to share with you what was four steps. As I've developed today's content, it's now five steps. We're going to try to keep it really simple and really straightforward. This is our fifth monthly Miracle Morning Community gathering, also known as the Elevating Consciousness Experience. Whether you are brand new to the Miracle Morning or you've been a practitioner, I know many of you are here that have been doing the Miracle Morning for years. Some of you over a decade, Literally over a decade, 10 years of your life.
But whether you're brand new or you are a seasoned Miracle Morning practitioner, this event is designed to help you elevate your consciousness. The mission of the Miracle Morning Community is to elevate the consciousness of humanity one morning and one person at a time. What does that mean? Well, as whenever you learn something new, you have a new awareness of a possibility, a positive possibility. You're elevating your consciousness with regards to what is possible. And these monthly events are designed to bring our community together so that we can connect with each other, support each other, so that individually, we can elevate our own consciousness, and collectively as a community, we can elevate the consciousness of each other and ultimately of humanity. I would imagine y' all would agree right now that humanity needs people like you more than ever. Leaders. And you become a leader simply when you live in alignment with your values.
When you strive to live to your full potential while serving others while helping other people do the same. And that's what I love about the Miracle Morning Community is that to me, it's the finest example of, you know, millions of people who are waking up every day to their full potential, while we are also striving to support each other and make a positive impact in the lives of every person that we touch, that we reach, that we connect with. And so it is a true honor to be able to be part of this community. I feel like I am. I get to be a member. I don't, you know, leader, whatever. I'm the member of the community, and I'm in awe every day of how you show up for Each other. So thank you for that. All right, all right. I hear the shop vac going in the background.
Let me see.
Let me collect myself. So here's what we're going to talk about. I want to ask you all a question and.
The Miracle morning mission.
For it to spread, right? It spreads by us spreading it, you know, and. And. And I'm curious. By a show of hands, let me. Let me change my view so I can see y'.
All.
By a show of hands, how many of you have shared the miracle morning with someone else? Raise your hand. You've shared the book, the movie, the practice. Y', all, look. Look at the screen.
I. I'm in awe. Thank you. Now, I want to ask you, have you. How many of you have shared the miracle morning with someone who you thought it could really help, but they. They just, like, they wouldn't listen to you. Like, be honest. Have you ever shared it? And they're like, I'm not. I don't read. Like, I'm not. Okay, look at that. Like, most of the hands are up. I'm not a morning person, right? So one of the things that we're going to do, we'll do this at the end, but I just want to plant the seed and mention it. Some of you or many of you may have seen the Miracle Morning movie is now free. And this to us, like, one way that our team has asked, how can we reach more people? How can we spread the movement? How can we further the mission? And it was like, well, how can we make it as easy as possible for people to. For our community members, for all of you to share this with others, right? Reading a book, you got to buy the book, you got to read the book, right? Takes a lot of time. And you used to have to rent the movie. And now if you go to miraclemorningmovie.com, it's totally free. So you can watch it with people that you love. You can just send them the link. You can share it. And at the end, I'm actually. I wrote, like, a little text script that you can just text to your friends to share it. And there's, you know, there's no strings attached. It's just literally, hey, you know that book I've been telling you about, that movie? The movie's now free. Here, here's a link. Check it out. Right? So, because a big part of these calls, what I haven't done a lot of in the last four months, but I really want to is how do we, as a community really actively make an impact to elevate the consciousness of other people. Right. How do we become proactive, you know, and really go out there and spread this to new people? So.
Diving into what we're going to talk about today, we're going to go over five steps to make this year your best year ever. And I'm curious also, by a show of hands, how many of you listen to the podcast that I did a couple weeks ago on four unique steps to make 2023 your best year ever? Show of hands. All right, so about about a third. Looks like about a third of everybody, give or take. So. So that was the foundation of what we're talking about today. And I've just simply. We're going to go deeper in it today, and you're going to be able to connect and activate the learning. Right? That's the thing about a podcast is it's passive learning. You're just sitting there listening versus the Miracle morning, these gatherings. You're going to hear me go further and deeper than I went on the podcast, and then you're going to be able to connect with each other and actually activate the learning. You're going to share what you learned, what you took away. You're going to actually clarify, articulate what you're going to do with that information. How are you going to implement it right now, today, tomorrow, the next day, the next couple of weeks going into the new year, so that you can activate your learning. And obviously, that's a huge opportunity that can 10x the impact that the information is a dime a dozen. You can Google how to have your best year ever, and you'll probably get a million articles that'll tell you how to do that. But none of them give you the opportunity to actually activate your learning, to actually make a verbal commitment as to what you're going to do, which, of course, is a quantum leap in the impact from information to. To implementation. Before I share all of that, I am going to turn it over to the one and only Lucy Osborne, the founder of Spiritual Fitness and Intensati. If you have been on these monthly gatherings, many of you, this is your favorite part. It is one of my favorite parts for sure. And Lucy is the voice of the new Miracle Morning premium app subscription. And. But you can also go listen to some of her tracks for free in the app. If you have the Miracle Morning app, make sure it is updated to the latest edition. And Lucy has recorded over the last, last six months over 100 guided tracks, audio tracks, video tracks to guide you through your Savers, and she's recording new tracks every single month and releasing new ones. And in the app you can actually, if you go to the dashboard, you can actually request a feature, request a track, anything you want. Like, we are really trying to continue creating the app to serve you, so give you exactly what it is that you need to make your miracle morning and beyond the best it can be. So without further ado, it is my great pleasure and honor. Lucy, I love you. I'm excited for this. Take it away.
Thank you, Hal. Hi, everyone. I'm excited too. This is already the highlight of my day. I'm in LA, it's just barely 7 o' clock and it's already going to be the best day. I know that because I'm starting it here with you, the people who are co creating the miracle morning with us, just like Hal said, or creating in the miracle Morning app, opportunities to do your miracle morning in so many different ways, all engaging, all together. And what I love about what we're what I love about what we're doing today is we actually get to see each other's faces while we're doing it and we get to kind of be in the same room while we're doing while we're doing it. So I'm very excited to do the savers together. I'm going to guide you through all of the savers today and the only thing you have to do is participate however you to want can. So if you're in a place where you can jump up when we're exercising and close your eyes when we're meditating, do that. And if you can't, you just do it your way. Maybe you need to stay seated. Maybe you're at work with your headphones and you can't be shouting the affirmations. However you do it is perfectly okay. So we're gonna dive into the savor. So I welcome you to start by sitting up straight and opening the heart. The way we're going to do that is bringing our shoulders up, back, and then down so the heart opens wide. And as your heart opens, if you're able, I want to invite you to close your eyes, to take a few minutes here to go inward. We've all come here from different places. We were doing something different 15 minutes ago, but right now we're all all here. And we're all here to elevate consciousness, which starts with our own consciousness. So we tune away from the distractions of the outside world for just this moment, this moment for us. And we tune in Turn inward.
So with your eyes closed and your heart open, take a nice deep breath in through the nose.
Feel that open heart expand.
Exhale through the mouth.
And as you exhale, you can make some kind of noise, like a sigh or an ah, a sign that you're releasing.
So breathe in again through the nose.
Filling your heart, filling your body with this energy. And exhale through the mouth, releasing whatever you want to release to become even more present here.
One more big breath in.
Now let the exhale be as long as you can make it. Let the exhale continue even as I'm talking, even as I move on. Get it to the last drip, the last drop of that out breath.
And with your eyes still closed and your attention tuned more into your inner world. I want us to visualize together. And what we're going to visualize is one great day in 2023. And you might be asking, well, I don't know what it looks like. What does it look like? I haven't lived it yet. And that's the exciting part. With visualization, we get to decide and we get to choose. So visualize one great day in 2023. And you get to pick whatever day that is. Maybe there's a day where you know something's happening. A birthday, a milestone, a trip, a presentation. Or maybe you pick any given Wednesday, a regular day.
What's happening? Your day to day life in this future day that lets you know that this is a great day.
Maybe in your visualization of this day in the future, there's something new that you're doing that you've always wanted to start and you're picturing yourself finally doing that thing.
Or maybe there's something you've stopped, that you've done every single day this year that you don't want to take into next day year. Imagine yourself that one day in 2023, being free from that.
Maybe you see and feel yourself doing a new hobby or a new activity. Maybe there's a new person in your life. Love, friendship, business, companionship. Maybe you're in a new place, your location looks totally different, or the one that you're in feels up graded, more appropriate and aligned to the life you're ready to live. Maybe you're doing something new with your time, with your money, with your career. But see this one great day.
And know that this one great day can be a reflection of the great year that we're about to step into. It's day by day, morning by morning, that our year gets built.
Take another deep breath in through the.
Nose.
Keeping the eyes closed, staying in the energy of that day.
And listen to this excerpt from one of our favorite books, Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod.
We mistakenly believe that who we were is who we are, thus limiting our true potential in the present based on the limitations of our past. As a result, we filter every choice we make from what time we'll wake up in the morning to which goals we'll set, to what we allow ourselves to consider possible for our lives through the limitations of our past experiences. We want to create a better life, but sometimes we don't know how to see it any other way than how it's been.
So if you are to move beyond your past and transcend your limitations, you must stop living out of your rear view mirror and start imagining a life of limitless possibilities.
Accept the paradigm that my past does not equal my future. And I'll add in here that 2023 does. 2022 does not have to equal 2022.
So talk to yourself in a way that inspires confidence that not only is anything possible, but that you are capable and committed to making it so. It's not even necessary to believe it at first. In fact, you probably won't believe it. You might find it uncomfortable and that you resist doing it. That's okay. Repeat it to yourself anyway and your subconscious mind will begin to observe, Absorb the positive affirmations. Think bigger than you've allowed yourself to think up until this point. Get clear on what you truly want. Condition yourself to believe that it's possible by focusing on and affirming it every day. And then consistently move in the direction of your vision until it becomes your reality. There is nothing to fear because you cannot fail. Only learn, grow and become better than you've ever been before.
Always remember that where you are is a result of who you were. But where you go depends entirely on who you choose to be from this moment on.
Breathe in through the nose.
Staying in that energy of who you will be.
And with an exhale, open the eyes. If you're able to stand, stand. If you're going to do the exercise, portion seated. Energize your body in some way.
Shake out and release anything that you want to release in order to welcome this new you in any limitations that might have existed. Shake them out. Leave them over there in the past where they belong. And with our embodiment in our words, our exercise and our affirmations, let's welcome in this new us, this new me, this new you, this new year, we're gonna do two moves Move number one is a jumping jack.
So you can do this arms only if you're seated or if you're standing. You can tap the feet if you want to do a nice low impact version. Or you can do a full jumping jack.
Add a smile. That's part of the physicality too.
So you're gonna feel your heart start to beat a little faster, your breath start to quicken. Those are all signs that your body's waking up to what your mind has already decided is true. Possibilities are endless.
Now take the arms up and reach above your head. Reach, reach, reach. Reach as straight as you can. Get the arms. Awaken the feet. Fingers at the top. Reach. Now pull.
Pull.
So fully extended at the top, elbows bent at the bottom, like you're pulling in what you want. You're deciding. You're bringing it here. If you want to add another layer.
To this.
Raise the knee just like this.
Pull, pull.
So you can do this low impact with feet together, or you can add that knee up.
You look good. Go to jumping jack.
Now pull.
Jumping jack. We're just going back and forth.
Pull.
Let's see it. Yes.
Now switch.
Repeat after me. Possibilities are endless.
I'm thinking big.
I believe in myself.
This is my year.
Possibilities are endless.
I'm thinking big.
I believe in myself.
This is my year. Again. Possibilities are endless. Say it. I am thinking big.
I believe in myself.
This is my year. One more time. Possibility. Abilities are endless.
I am thinking big.
I believe in myself.
This is my year.
Shake it out.
Now cheer.
Yes. Give a high five to somebody else. To yourself. Good job.
Good job. Take your hand to your heart.
Feel some physical proof that you got the energy moving, that heartbeat.
Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom.
Awaken alive. That breath quicken. Awaken alive.
Present and looking forward.
Take a deep breath in through the nose again.
Hold it at the top.
Exhale with a smile.
And to close out. To conclude this experience, we're going through all of the sabers in a really quick amount of time, getting them all in, energizing all parts of the body, the mind, the spirit that scribe here in the chat. Right? In 2023, I am. Fill in the blank. You get to choose. A belief is simply a thought that's repeated. So what would you like to start believing about yourself? Write it in the present affirmative tense. In 2023, I am thriving. In 2023, I am healthy. In 2023, I am in love. In 2023, I am. You fill in the blank because you get to write. You get to write your story. You get to write that perfect day, and you get to live morning by morning by morning on your own terms. What am I going to think? What am I going to say to myself? What am I going to do on purpose? How am I going to awaken the parts of me that I want to be awakened alive? The possibilities are endless. So this year, let's think bigger than we've thought before, believing that we're writing what we're writing here in the chat is true and that this is our year.
Thank you for being part of this miracle morning community.
Community.
Thank you for being part of this experience. This would be a lot less fun if it was just me in my living room doing it alone. I'd way rather do it with 307 of you here live. So I'd love to hand this off to Jeremy to continue this miraculous morning that we're having together. Thank you all so much for this morning.
Thank you, Lucy. Hey, can we all come off mute and say thank you to Lucy?
Thank you.
Lucy.
Thank you.
Lucy. Thank you, Lucy.
Thank you.
Gratitude from all over the world.
Thank you so much.
Just let us through, Lucy. Wonderful job. Thank you very much for. For sharing your gifts and your clarity and sharing an entire miracle morning in such an energizing and efficient way one more time. Thank you very much.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
All right, everyone, we're going to move on to our first breakout activity. How many of you, by raise of hands, have been in a Zoom breakout room before? How many of you have never been in a Zoom breakout room before? Okay, well, you're in luck. We have a couple first timers. It's one of the most magical experiences you could ever have in your life. It's where you go from this big, large room in Zoom, like a big, large conference room. If we were all in person and magically you just show up in, like, a small conference room with just enough room for, like, three or four people, and it happens like that. No one gets stuck at the bathrooms. No one's trying to run back to their hotel room. It's like we just go from this big room into a breakout room. And in that breakout room, we're going to have a small group discussion between the three or four of you that are in the room. And what are we going to talk about? So we're here to gain clarity and momentum, to make 2023 the best year ever. And one of the quickest ways to creating momentum and to creating clarity and energy is the power of connecting to purpose.
And it's really easy to move quickly through activities without first asking why is what I'm doing important? And so the first activity today is going to be simple, yet very powerful. And the simplicity is it's a simple question, which is, why is making 2023 the best year ever important? So super simple question and the answers, you have an opportunity to make your answers really simple. It's important because I want to have my best year ever, because I want to be better. That would be an example of a really simple answer to the question. There's also the opportunity to take it a little bit deeper and think about, I want to be better because I know I'm made for something in this world. I know I'm made to contribute. I know I'm made to step into my gifts. I know I'm made to create freedoms that allow me to become more aware of myself so I can step into more of who I'm meant to be. And then even another option might be.
You know, making this year is important because making this year the best year ever is important because my family relies on me, because my community relies on me, because there's people who count on me to be an inspiring force for them. And if I'm not at my best and I don't have a great year, they might not have their best year. So there's a variety of ways to answer this purpose question and want to invite you to answer it in whatever way you'd like to answer it. And also a second invitation to go a little deeper than you might normally go in an inquiry like this. And this is the place to do it right here as you prepare for a fantastic year, to connect to the power of purpose of why I'm making this next year the best year ever is important to you, to others, to the world. So, gonna give you about 60 seconds. How many of you have got something to write with? If you've got something to write with, go ahead and hold it up, give it a little wiggle, Warm up. Warm up your pens and pencils a little quicker.
Sh.
Okay, perfect. They're all warmed up now, so I'm gonna put this question on the screen, and then I'm gonna put a little bit of music on for you and give you about a minute to journal.
Why is making 2023 the best year ever?
Why is it important to you?
Why is it important to others?
And why is making this the best year ever important to the world? If you want to take it that far.
If you feel like you're complete, want to invite you for 30 more seconds to continue to write down.
Why is making this year important to you? Take it deeper, take it further. Give yourself so many options that you have. So many options that you get to choose why making this year is important to you. This is your best year.
All right, Wherever you're at, you can bring your eyes to the screen. Hello. Hello. And feel free to reconnect to some of the answers that just emerged for you. Feel free to just to keep that close by, to put it somewhere that you're gonna come back to it after this event so that you can go even deeper and you can look at what it is you've written down.
And really start to assess, like, what am I learning from my own answers around what's important? It's a strategic way to not only create resilience and momentum towards your goals and towards your aspirations for this next year, because ultimately, the reason you're going after the goals in some way might be connected to why having your best year ever is important. So it's a little extra resilience juice that right when you feel like you don't have what it takes or you want to quit, you look at that purpose and you've got a little bit of energy to take that next step, make that next call, go through the next challenge to overcome it, to make it the best year ever. So invitation for this to be just the beginning, not the end.
Next, we're going to go into an activity in the breakout room that I was describing, where you're going to go into groups of three or four. I'm going to draw a quick picture with some instructions to show you exactly how to use the breakout rooms most efficiently and effectively to where everyone gets an opportunity to share. And also a really cool little second part to this activity that you'll want to pay attention to, because it's a really powerful second step of this activity that allows people to connect even more deeply and to feel seen and heard even more deeply. And what I mean is, you're going to have two steps. The first step is the person with the longest hair is going to. Oh, we got to make that a different color. The person with the longest hair is going to share, and you're all going to get a chance to share. So and you're going to share your answer to why making this next year the best year ever is important to you. You're going to share that in roughly 60 seconds or less. So 60 seconds or less.
You'Re going to share why making this next year, making this Next year, the best year ever, is important to you. So you're going to share before you switch, and here's where you want to pay attention. Before you switch to the next person, the other two people are going to reflect back in 15 seconds or less. 15 seconds or less, you're going to reflect back.
Anything that you heard that you would like to acknowledge. Maybe it's something that was similar to what you wrote down. Maybe it was something that you didn't write down and it was super inspiring and you want to acknowledge them. Hey, that's really inspiring. Or maybe they share something and you just want to honor them because what they shared, you know, made you feel something. It gave you. I'm going to call it the Goosies. And you thought, wow, I just want to honor you for saying that. So step number one, the person with the longest hair is going to share before you switch to person number two, you're just going to. The other two people are going to reflect back. If you're in a group of four, you'll need to keep this even tighter. So maybe think of keeping this 60 seconds, 45, and you can still be 15 here. But if you're in a group of three, share, reflect back. And then you'll switch to the next person, that person will share. Then the other two people will reflect back. Then you'll go to the next round again. One of the great things about this activity right here is it helps a group to get hyper present because in order to reflect back, you have to be listening and there's all sorts of distractions on your devices. Right now. I know that there might be a Chrome window open. You might have WhatsApp open. There might be some sort of direct audio workshop that you're working on. So this is the activity and when you come back, we're going to hear from a handful of you of what you wrote down as your purpose or something that you heard that was inspiring. If you're ready to rock and roll and this all sounds good and you're ready to go, gimme a thumbs up and we'll put on some. You know what, let's bring the energy up. Everyone just put your hands like this, Put your hands like this and then interlace your fingers. I've been told this is the new Zoom update. And now you just go like this. And once everyone's doing this, then the zoom rooms will open and we'll see you in roughly six to eight minutes or so. So we'll see you in about six to eight minutes. Enjoy the Breakout rooms with your fellow Miracle Morning brothers and sisters.
Oh, hell. It worked. It worked, buddy. Everything's going good. Oh, that helps, though. Look at. That's speeding it up. Speed Racer.
That makes it go faster.
That makes it go faster. Everyone. Everyone who's not already on their way to a breakout room.
And good. And good timing, too, because we're bringing everyone back. So wonderful. Thanks for sharing. Daphne and Hal, thank you for sharing as well.
Yeah, brother.
And here we go. I can see some people are looking. They're like, hello, we're back. But there's. There's 15 seconds for us to move our bodies again. You can just do the shoulder, back and forth with the neck. You can get up and dance. You can do this thing, and I'm not sure what it's called. You can do the hitch. You can do a spin.
Don't do that if you have wires around your feet. All right. Look at these dancers. We didn't know what we were getting ourselves into here. Nice. All right, hey, give your Zoom neighbor to the right a high five. Zoom neighbor to the right a high five. 1, 2, 3.
Give the person to the left a high five.
And we'll save the up and down for a little bit later. Don't wanna let it all go all at once. All right, here we go. How many of you, number one, appreciated having a moment to reflect on why making this next year is, you know, important? Why making this next year, as awesome as it can be, as important. How many of you then also appreciated being able to go talk it out with other people and share your answers? So right now we're gonna have maybe three, four, or five people share. And I think a lot of people just raised their hands because they were saying, yes, I liked it. So you might not be raising your hands. Oh, nice work. There's a new button that takes all the hands down all at once. That was mag magic. Never seen that before. I'm impressed. Good job, Zoom. Okay, so this is an opportunity to share either what you wrote down for why making 2023 an incredible year is important to you or others. So you could share your answer, or you could share something that was inspiring or that you really resonated with in the Breakout room. And I see there's a handful of you who have already raised your hand. So. So we're going to start off here with Kathy, and then we're going to go to. I think it's. Is it Ibrahim? Did I even get that close?
Yeah, I got a nod. I got a nod. So close. Enough. Kathy Ibrahim and then Melissa and Liza and we'll see where we're at there and we'll see if we have time for more. So go ahead, Kathy.
Okay. Hey, everybody. So in our room there were so many great reflections, but the one that really got me was when Ryan shared that he was going to propose to his girlfriend this year and that one of the reasons that he wanted 2023 to be his best year is so that he could be the best version of himself for her. And I just really. It gave me goosebumps because I just think that's so cool. Instead of always looking at what someone can bring to us and he's looking at what can I do to be the best version of myself as I enter into this life with someone else? And so it was just really inspiring for me. Wanted to share that.
Thank you, Kathy, and congratulations, Brian, for the future experience.
And Abraham.
Yeah?
Am I alive?
You are alive.
Yeah. I guess the basic question is going to be why would I make the best years ever? Why is it always just putting it off? Why just always just saying to myself, it's not going to be the best year or I'm going to be the best year and I'm not doing it. It's time to stand up. I guess it's not. We waste a lot of time. We are. All of us have this kind of habit of procrastinating. We procrastinate things all the time. We do things that we want it, but we never do it because you're lazy. Whatever it is. I guess it's time to stand up. Being the best years in this ever. I guess a lot of people just want to be the best year, but not making it because they made a lot of excuses. It is time to stand up. It is time to be this year. The next year is going to be the best, not just the best. You may just say this. It's going to be a better year than before than previous year. If it's going to be. If it's going to be the better year than before, that's enough. It shouldn't be the best year ever in the entire history because never going to happen. But if we did it better than the previous year, we made a really improvement. And that's something's going to add up in the next years because in every year, if you just make a. Just improvement in 5%, a lot of things going to change in the. The long term, isn't it? I think that's the really important aspect. Just waiting for you to Focus on. That's really kind of just transform and turns a million of lives around.
Beautiful. Thank you for sharing. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for letting me talk to you in this specific interview. I really like all of you. Being with you in this special meeting.
Is it okay if we throw you energy from around the globe? We just throw the energy towards your little zoom box. Is that okay?
Of course.
Okay, you put your hands together just like this. You rub them together, give them a little bit of warmth. You don't want them to be too cold. And then on the count of three, you point them towards his zoom box. One, two, three.
Boom. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you, Bak.
Bye, Melissa.
Hi there. Can you hear me?
We got you.
All right. So it was quite interesting because we only had two people in our breakout room and both from Canada. And it was interesting because we both talked about.
How we've had. We've both lost daughters in our past and how our goal was always to help others through their grief. And Shelly, my partner in the breakout room, has written a book already and plans to write more in 2023 now that she's retiring. And that's my goal for 2023 as well. To make my business a huge success, help other women and to by doing that, have time to write the books that I've been wanting to write since losing my daughter.
Well, I'm sorry to hear that you've lost your daughter, Melissa, and thank you for sharing that with us.
Yeah, I believe that when you go through something like that, that it's important to share your grief and to share.
What you've been through so that you can.
Everything happens for a reason, I believe. So my, my goal is to help others through that. So, yeah, thanks.
Yeah, you're welcome. Thank you, Melissa.
Let's throw some energy to Melissa real quick. One, two, three.
The energy throws like a group hug, only less uncomfortable. So it works out when you just do the energy throw. Liza and then.
Laurie, you're going to be the last one so that we're able to get to the next section. I'm sorry to everybody else for not having more time to get some shares in. So we'll go to Liza and then Laurie. Go ahead, Liza.
So our group was. There was three women and we all kind of were in the same place, I think, or close, that we were made. I said that I was made for greatness and to impact others, to glorify God, that he gave me all these talents and gifts and at 60 something years old. Is it, is it the end of my life. So many friends are retiring, but it's not. It's time for me to just keep impacting others positively. And I think Lori said something very similar, that she wanted to improve and be better. And then Becky talked about, you know, she kind of was in a comfort zone now. And so we talked about how our brain tries to keep us secure and in a comfortable position. But is that really where God wants us? So for me, I just feel like God wants me to continue to use my gifts and talents to glorify him. And so I need to make a clear plan to do that every day.
Thank you for sharing, Liza. Thank you. We got an energy train going here, so we're going to throw some energy to you as well. A one, a two. Now just make this one a one handed. One, two, three.
Lori, go ahead and you can land the airplane.
So I think there was a theme in my Zoom room, and it was.
Really just about not just being your best self, but being your best self so that you can live fully in your purpose, even if you're just coming to what that is. For me, I just finished reading 4,000 weeks and I said, I don't know how long the warranty is on this machine. So I just want to live every day fully and enjoy what I have.
That's it.
Thank you, Laurie, thank you for sharing. One more energy throw here. A one, a two, a three.
Yeah. Kathy, Abraham, Melissa, Liza, Lori, thanks for kicking us off. Thanks for bringing your voices in. One of the things that we love about these events is the ability to bring the community's voices into a gathering where we not only get to reflect and connect to our own personal mission, our own goals, we get an opportunity to hear from others in the small groups and then in this forum here in the large room, get to bring voices in. So thank you for bringing your voices in. Again, apologize. For those of you that we didn't get to, there will be another opportunity. So get your hands ready to be raised. And with that, I'm gonna hand it over to Hal, who has got some incredible insight to share with us. And so if you do have your workbook, this is a good time to just get your workbook, have it ready, because he's gonna give you so much great insight that it'll be nice to have a place to jot down all your notes and all your takeaways. So whether that's the workbook or a journal, just have somewhere that you can take notes. And with that, I'm gonna play a little Best of you as I welcome my good friend, my buddy, Hell Elrod.
You might be muted, my friend.
I know I wouldn't be singing out loud anyway. I love that song. Andy Grammer. Best of you beautiful.
Happy holidays, y'.
All.
That is something that is often said, right? I say that actually a lot. Merry Christmas. Happy holidays. But I realized that the holidays aren't always happy for everybody. And I think that it's important to acknowledge that, right? That it's like, if the holidays are a really difficult time for some, you know, then Happy Holidays might not land quite the way that, you know, that we might want it to or intend for it to. And as we're ending this year, I just want to acknowledge that for some of us, 2022 was. May have been the most difficult year of our life, right? You might have lost someone that you love. You might have experienced financial hardship. You may have gone through a depression, and you may be going through some of, like, you know, going through those things now, whether they're happening now or the. The impact of an event that occurred in 2022 is still resonating very deeply with you. For some of us, you know, maybe 2022 was your best year ever, right? But I really want today's message to be universal for all of us, and I want it to be empowering. You know, that for me, I think, is what I always focus on, which is only focusing on what I can. What I have control over, right? Like, I can't change what happened in the past. I can't change other people. I can't. Right? We have to start by being at peace with life as it is in this moment. And I'm sure many of you probably got. I sent an email out. I put it up on Facebook, and. And it was. The subject line of the email was how I'm approaching the holidays. How many of you, by a show of hands, read that email or saw that post on Facebook? Okay, so not a lot of you didn't see it. So it was essentially three things. It was to accept life exactly as it is. And these are really three of my guiding principles, right? Accept life exactly as it is. Don't resist reality. Just be at peace with your life, even the painful parts. Life is as it is. And we can either accept it and be at peace, or we can resist it and create inner turmoil. Those are really our only two choices, right? Either you are at peace with life as it is, or you are angry, frustrated, resentful, hateful, upset. All of this inner emotional turmoil that's our choice. Reality is as it is. We choose how we respond to it. And so when it comes to reflecting on 2022, which is going to be where we're going to start today, that'll be the first step I added. I told you, it's five steps now. It was four steps to your best year ever. And I added step, a new step, which we'll get to in a few minutes here. But it's going to be about reflection, right? Looking back. And so here's where I want to start. How do you measure? Like, if I were to ask you, how was this year for you? Right. In fact, I want you to think about what your answer would be to that. How was this year for you? Right? Was it, Was it great? Was it tough? Was it both? Right? The question.
For you to consider is how are you measuring how you answer that question? Meaning how do you measure your best year ever? Is it based on what happens to you, things that are totally out of your control? Is that how you're determining whether your was good or bad? Or is your answer based on how you showed up, how you chose to show up this year? So in that regard, imagine you could have had the most difficult event occur in your life. But if you showed up with strength and clarity and self, love and service of others, well, then are you measuring it based on the terrible event, the tragedy, or based on how you showed up in the midst of the tragedy? And in that context, you could literally have the best year of your life when you had the worst thing happen to you. Like the year that I had cancer and I suffered more pain than I ever had and my family was struggling and we weren't seeing each other, I still called it the best year of my life because to me, you get to choose. Think of that question, how can I see this year as the best year of my life? How might you shift your perspective and see 2022 as the best year of your life? Because you could literally go. I mean, by shifting your perspective, you could go from, this was the worst year of my life. This happened and this happened and this happened, and it was terrible, right? And then you go, wait a minute, I'm still here and I'm stronger because of it, right? And I have a fresh start from here going into 2023. So I would just encourage you to consider that how you measure the quality of your year or even your day. At the end of the day, you go, it was a bad day. I got this terrible news. It's like, well, you get to choose how you show up on any given day, and that's what I would encourage you to consider, is that your best year is going to be based far more on how you show up every day, showing up at your best every day, which is what Miracle Morning enables you to do, to show up at your best every day, regardless of the things that are happening in your life that are out of your control.
So you have more control over whether or not this year and every day of your life is your best, based on whether or not you choose to give your best and then see and measure how great the day, the week, the month, the year was based on how you chose to show up, not based on what happened, not based on what someone did or didn't do. And so today, the way we're going to explore this, we're going to start with what causes a mediocre year? So what causes a year that. I'm a big believer that we've got to anticipate obstacles. In the military, they call that planning for contingencies. It's like, what might go wrong and how do I plan and anticipate that? So that I'm either prepared for it or it doesn't happen at all because I anticipated it. I did something now so that I didn't have to suffer later. Right? But often we go through life and we don't think about what might go wrong either, because we're the eternal optimist. Where you're like, no, everything's great. It's always great. It's going to be great. There's definitely. That's a superpower for a lot of us. You know, I always say there's a fine line between optimism and delusion, and I cross it every day. I cross that all the time. But. But there's either we're the optimist, so we don't want to look at the bad. Right? Or we don't even. We don't see it, or we're afraid. I know this for me, I don't like feeling out of control. I really don't like feeling pain. I've identified this about myself. So that's one of the reasons I don't anticipate obstacles, because I'm like, I'll just handle it, whatever, when it comes. So here are three potential causes of a mediocre year. Number one, lack of clarity.
This is probably the biggest. If you haven't clearly defined your goals, your plans for the year, then the year's gonna pass you by, right? You're gonna end the year and look back and go, man, it's just gonna happen to you. Oh, it just happened on my screen. Just had some weird things show up.
Hold on.
Now.
I can't see. All that is.
All right.
Just had a zoom thing happen that I've never had happen. Okay, everybody. Oh, it went away. Did someone do that? Jeremy, did you do that to me?
I pulled it off. Back to you, my friend.
All right. That was great. It threw me off. I was. See, that's an obstacle I didn't anticipate. I was not prepared for that, so it threw me off. That's actually beautiful. That's like a beautiful example. When you're not prepared for it, right? It can throw you off. So lack of clarity is the first one. And that's. We're going. That's. Today is all about gaining clarity, right? That's. That's the biggest part of it. Number two is a lack of support.
Very rarely does someone succeed on their own. And when I say lack of support, accountability is a big part of that, right? There's kind of two sides of the support coin. There's one side which is like the encouragement aspect of support, right, that you don't feel like you're in this all alone. You've got encouragement, which this is our community is, you know, supporting each other in that way. The other side of the support coin is accountability. So you have encouragement on one side and accountability on the other side, right? Which is where you're not in isolation. You've got someone else other than you knows what you're working towards, whether it's a friend, whether you've shared it in the miracle morning community Facebook group. But they're aware of what it is you're working towards, and you've got support, you've got that accountability. And the number three is lack of momentum. A lack of momentum. And momentum is something you generate every day. I want you to think about this. The microcosm of momentum is your miracle morning. That's what's so beautiful. It's like you guys are ahead of. You know, we are ahead of most people, which is why we're sharing the miracle morning, because it allows you to start every day with momentum. If you think of it in that context, right, Most people, if they start the day by waking up at the last possible minute and just reacting to the day, they have no positive momentum. But if you start your day by gaining clarity, reviewing your goals, which is a form of accountability as well, right, that's some self support. Now you have momentum as you go into the day. And I want to speak in one other aspect of momentum, which is what is today? Today's December 28th. You have three more days of 2022. You get to use the next three days to create momentum. I have it in my schedule every day and I have actually for the last couple of weeks. But for the next three days, I'll be focusing on my 2023. I've been working on my goals, and if you haven't started, that's fine. You can start today. You can start today and you can work on it tomorrow, the next day, and of course throughout the entire year. But here's the point. Don't do what most people do, which is essentially we are.
We'Re mediocre during the holidays. Mediocre meaning, like we just completely choose to like, opt out of healthy habits, right? Like, I'm just gonna eat overeat and I'm gonna, I'm gonna sleep all I want, I'm gonna watch. Like, we basically, you think about it like if you were training for your best anything ever, you'd be really disciplined leading up to it. But interestingly enough, we end up assembling this arsenal of like self destructive habits during the holidays, right? And then we hit January 1st with negative momentum. Like not positive. But you hit January 1st and you're like, okay, I stayed up till midnight last night and like the entire holidays I was like, overeat. I'm all, I'm bloated, I'm tired, I feel sluggish. I don't have any mental clarity. And that's how I'm going. That is how I'm going into my best year ever. So I would encourage you to really be aware of treating the next three days as the three best days of your life. And I want to also invite you to consider that. How do you have your best year ever? It's one day at a time. It's one morning at a time. As Lucy Osborne shared as she led us through that visualization, one day at a time. It's making every day of your life the best day of your life. And going back to when I talked about, how do we measure that? How do you. It's how you show up. You can't control what happens to you or what other people say or do, but you can choose whether or not you show up at your best every single day. All right, so we're going to dive in now to the five steps to making this your best year ever. Step number one, and I would do this today, tomorrow, over the next few days, reflect on 2022. Reflect on 2022. And I didn't talk about this in the podcast at all. It was an overlooked step, which is really important. And then as I was preparing this for my best year ever, I'm like, I'm going through reflection and I go, I forgot to mention that in that podcast episode. But it's such an important part. And here's three things. When you, when you. When you're reflecting, here's the three things. I encourage you to do this in writing. Don't reflect by just looking up and being like, ah, this year was tough, or it was great, or whatever. Like, no, no, no. Be really intentional. And number one, write down your wins. What are your wins? And wins is a. You know, it could be, what are. What. What did you do? Well, what did you accomplish?
What do you feel good about? I mean, that's the essence of the win, right? It's something I feel good about, something that happened, something I accomplished, something I overcame, something I learned, something I became. Right? What are your wins for 2022? Number two, what are your losses? Challenges. Challenges is really a better word. But what were the tough things? And the essence of that is letting them go, being at peace with them, writing them down and going from potential trauma that they can cause to being at peace with those losses, those challenges, those difficult aspects of this year, so that you don't carry mental and emotional baggage from your challenges of 2022 into 2023, but instead you carry the third point here of reflection, which is lessons. What are the lessons? What did you learn in 2022 that you're going to apply in 2023? What'd you learn about yourself? What'd you learn about the world, about other people, so on and so forth. So step one, schedule 30 minutes or so to reflect on 2022. Step two, identify your values. Identify your values. So I talked about this in the podcast.
Probably six months ago. I went to bed one night feeling so satisfied. I went to bed feeling so satisfied, just so complete for the day, so grateful, which not. Not always how I go to bed sometimes. I go to bed feeling like I didn't get everything done today, and I'm stressed and I got this tomorrow, right? But I went to bed feeling just, like, perfect. And then I went, why am I feeling so good right now?
And what I realized is that, oh, I lived today one day in alignment with my values. What do I mean by that? I value health, and I ate healthy that day, and I exercised that day. I really took care of my health. That was part of my schedule for the day, and I followed through on it. I value my relationships with my family probably more, you know, as much as anything else. My wife and our two kids, my daughter Sophia, my son Halston, and I spent quality time with each of them that day. I value me time, free time. And that day I went and shot basketball. I played basketball outside. I ate lunch, you know, by myself. One of my favorite parts of my day is my lunch break where I just relax, I'll watch some tv. Like, that's my. My lunch is just my, like, zone out, veg out, don't worry or think, entertain myself, enjoy, be at peace. I value productivity. And that day I focused on some of my most important goals and I took action on them. My most important projects, right? So I went to bed that night realizing I simply lived in alignment with my values. And it hit me. Oh, that's the formula to create the best day of your life. It's to simply identify your values and live in alignment with your values by putting them in your schedule, right? Don't leave it up to chance. You literally schedule time to work on your health, your relationships, your productivity, your financial freedom, spirituality. That morning I meditated, I prayed, right? So, like, almost every one of my values, it was alignment with, I was in alignment with. And I realized that's how you make every day the best day of your life. Because think about this. It's not like one day when you live in alignment with your values is better than another day. No, each day it's the best day of your life, every day that you live in alignment with your values. And so that starts with identifying your values. And let me give context on that. And we're going to lead you through. Jeremy's going to lead you through an exercise to do this with each other after I'm done here. But the word values is. It's kind of a loaded word, right? Because you could say, well, you know, I value integrity and honesty and generosity, and those are all values when I'm talking about your. And those can be incorporated in what we're talking about here. But when I'm talking about what you value, I'm talking more about.
What matters most to you. You could almost say these are categories of your life. Right? Like my health. And so when you identify your value of health. Right. Well, now, you know, okay, for me to have my best year ever, I've got to incorporate making healthy decisions every single day in my life. So step number two is identify your Values. And here's again, I'll just some thought joggers, health, fitness, relationships, you know, family would be in that category. Or it could be the category, right? Personal development, productivity. If I'm not productive, I don't feel good. That's just for me that might be an issue. I need some therapy around, I don't know. But if I'm not productive, I feel like I wasted the day, right? So that's an area for me that's important. It's a value. Financial security, definitely a value for me, spirituality is a value. Freedom is one of my highest values. And in every day I incorporate, I schedule periods of time where I don't have to do anything, where I can just do whatever I feel like in that moment. I can walk outside, I can go shoot hoops, I can just sit and meditate, whatever I want. I have that in my schedule. And then impact is another value right. Of mine. Impact or contribution, however you word it. But those are examples of values that you're going to identify. So step two is identify your values. Step three is set value aligned goals. Really easy.
If your value is health, what's your goal this year that will make you feel very good and accomplished in terms of your health.
So set value aligned goals. If fitness, if relationships. Like for me this year, relationships are important to me, but I really neglect relationships. I've realized in terms of friendships, I don't put time into those. Like I don't actually spend a lot of time with my friends. They're very limited. It's limited. And this year I'm changing that. I have Friendship Friday, you guys. I literally the other day realized this is a value of mine. How am I going to live this? It used to be Freedom Friday, now it's friendship and Freedom Fridays. And so I have three. Every day on a Friday I'm going to schedule a few hours to go spend with a friend and nurture that relationship. And I, I don't remember the last time I was intentional like that. And I actually had goals around really nurturing friendships in terms of relationships. Family. Absolutely right. I got family, goals and time and all of that. But really not friendships. They just kind of, I just kind of let them, let them happen unintentionally and I'm changing that this year. So that's just an example of setting a value aligned goal where the, the value is relationships, right? Or specifically friendships. The goal is I'm dedicating three hours a week to nurture those relationships. Step four, create a value aligned schedule. This is One of the most important steps, right? This is where you go from having goals on a sheet of paper that you rarely look at or that you look at, you don't do anything about, to actually making sure that you have scheduled time every day recurring. Like for me, I have recurring workout time, I have recurring smoothie making time literally every day at 8am, 7.30am.
I go work out, 8am, I make my smoothie, right? I have all these things. So create a value aligned schedule so that you're ensuring that every day you are incorporating your values and your value aligned goals, taking action every day, dedicating time to doing this right? And this isn't rocket science, but it's usually not done this way. And it really is the simplest way I've found to have just a really fulfilling life that you go to bed every night. Imagine that, going to bed every night not stressed, but feeling so complete, so at peace. And then last but not least is step five. Stick to your schedule and end each day reflecting on which values you lived in alignment with. So stick to your schedule and end each day reflecting on which values you lived in alignment with. And it's really easy because as you do this, you're going to have rhythms and routines where you're like, I did it again today. Like it's going to become automatic. Where you're like, I did it again today. I valued my health, I engaged my fitness, my relationships, my family, I worked on my goals with my finances, on and on and on. It's having that value aligned schedule. And then at the end of the day you get to reflect on it and go to bed completely at peace. And here's how simple this is. You follow those steps, right? And really focus these next few days, the next week or so on, that's your startup phase, right? That's your building the putting the building blocks in place. And some of these you might already have in place from past events that we've done or podcasts that we've done. But really focus on getting started so that you, the hardest part is getting started, right? And then once it started, I mean midway through January, you're going to have that momentum rolling. You're going to be living in alignment with your values because right now, today and tomorrow and the next day, you dedicated time to clearly identify those values to, well, first to reflect on the previous year, but then clearly identify your values, set those value aligned goals, create your value aligned schedule. And now you're set for making 2023 your best year ever. It's just A matter of each day waking up, doing your miracle morning, committing to follow your schedule, and then end the day going to bed feeling fulfilled and feeling complete. That's my wish for you do that more often than not. You don't have to be perfect. Right? There's 365 days. If you do this, 250 of those days or 200 more often than not, you're going to have the best year of your life. So I'm excited to be part of this journey with you, and we're in this together. Truly. The miracle morning community, the miracle morning family. I love what Jeremy said. I've actually never. I don't know if I've ever said that before. Which is your miracle morning, brothers and sisters. That resonated with me. Jer. I wrote that down. I'll be referring to y' all a lot more as the miracle. Your miracle morning, brothers and sisters. I love all of you. And Jer, I love you, brother. I'll let you take it from here.
I love you, too, Hal. Can we come off mute and acknowledge Hal in any way that we feel fit? You could sing him a song. You could say thank you. Anything you want.
Thank you.
Amazing.
Angel, rock star. Thanks, Kyle.
Grace, I love you.
I love you, too. Jeremy. Thank you for doing that. That is the coolest thing.
Yeah. And that was just round one. We still got another round. Everyone back off. Here we go. Just like we. No, I'm just kidding. No, seriously, Hal, great insights, and for many of you.
Rachelle was capturing that in the chat. And I just want to do a quick an acknowledgement of Richelle Niemann, who on my screen, she's right next to me. I have no idea where she is on your screen. Don't try and go find her. Could be tough. Anyways, Rachelle, just wave at the camera. Rachelle is helping us with all the breakouts. She's capturing the sequences and putting them in the chat and helping us to have an incredible experience. And we wouldn't be able to do it without Rochelle. So a little bit of love for Rochelle as well. Thank you so much for all the.
Yes. Thank you, Rochelle.
Thank you.
Thanks, Rochelle. Thanks.
Thank you.
Thank you so much.
Thank you, Michelle.
We love you, Rachelle.
Thanks, Rochelle. We love you.
Nice. That was, like, synced up. I love you. Thank you very much. Go ahead and grab your writing utensil. Let's warm that utensil back up. Go ahead and give it a little wiggle. Once you got it.
Turn it horizontal and then do it that way, too. Back to the vertical, to the horizontal. To the vertical. Yep. Get the fingers warmed up. All right. Now you can, if you're left handed, your left hand a stretch. If you're right handed, give your right hand a stretch. I imagine all of us type a lot and use utensils like this that make our hand go like this. And so we just stretch it back out, Give it a little stretch. We're about to go through a very quick iteration of all five steps that Hal just laid out. So everyone take a deep breath in, deep breath in.
Go ahead and let it out.
I myself have gone through this type of a process.
About 10 times in my life, really strategically. And one of the biggest lessons I'll never forget, I was sitting at my kitchen table last year and I actually got the lesson. I was like, oh, this isn't a one and done process. This is something where if you can knock out little chunks at a time, you can create momentum towards becoming, becoming clear on your values. And to set the value aligned goals and the value aligned schedule. It's most likely not going to happen in one 30 minute sit down where you go after it. It's about an iterative process where you take the 10 minutes we're going to take right now and rapid fire, you go through the whole process so that you can create the muscle of going through the process. And the more you go through that, the more you're able to do it more, more quickly. And this is a sequence. There's a way that this particular sequence meaning reflecting on 2022, going to create values, setting value aligned goals, value aligned schedule. You probably can't read my writing. Value aligned schedule. And then daily reflection and sticking to that schedule.
There's a beautiful sequence that empowers us to be at our best when we look as we go through this process. And so we're going to start with number one, which is reflect on 2022. Because before we move to the future and we start thinking about all the wins we want to have in the future and how those align with our values and how we're going to schedule them and we get tactical, we have an opportunity to look back on 2022 and celebrate all the wins that we had so many. Give you one minute right now. One minute. Go ahead and reflect back on 2022 and just start writing down wins. You could write down sentences or paragraphs on one win or you could just do a rapid fire, capture them all, capture as many as you can in one word in symbols and little phrases and give yourself a Menu of wins. So take about a minute right now and reflect on 2022 and just pull up as many wins as you can in your memory and jot them down and put them on paper. 60 seconds. Here we go.
Great work, everyone.
Now, if you're on a piece of paper.
And you have a bunch of wins up here, these are the wins. We're gonna do a second step right now, and that second step is lessons. So this is wins. Go ahead and write down.
Two or three lessons, two or three lessons.
From this past year. And maybe those lessons came from a loss, or maybe those lessons came from a challenge.
What are, what are the lessons you've learned over 2022?
One of the lessons I've learned is to pause, notice, and choose more often so that I'm more creative in the way I interact with people versus reactive. So that's a lesson to just pause more before I react to others.
What were your lessons from 2022? Biggest lessons.
Give you about another 30 seconds to reflect on lessons.
Values.
Number three is around aligning with your values. Number two. I'm sorry, Step number two is aligning with your values. When you look back over your wins and you look back over the lessons.
What can you pull out of those stories, out of those experiences that you value? For example, if one of your wins was my business grew by 20%, what is it that you value about that growth? Is it the financial freedom that it allows you? Is it that you value the growth and the productivity? Is it that you value the partnerships that were part the.
Of.
Of growing the business? If you've lost weight this year and you've been on a health journey, maybe what you value is your health. So whatever it is you value, there are, there are.
There are details, and there are breadcrumbs in your wins and your lessons to identify what you value about those and why you wrote them down. And so you can always come back to work wins lessons and extract some of your values from those stories. Give you another 30 seconds to write down your values. And then before we move on from this one, this particular step, circle the value that you know you want to lean into most in 2023.
So you create a list of values, then circle the line that you want to lean into that you want to make. Most important.
Step number three, value aligned goals. When you look at those values and you ask the question, what goals do I want to set for this next year that align with these values, what goals might I set that would bring these values alive?
Go ahead and think 2023. What are the goals that I want to go after and accomplish that are going to align with these values so that when I hit the goals, I not only hit the goal, I live into the value while I hit the goal, which is like a beautiful cocktail of fulfillment.
What are your value aligned goals.
For 2020?
What are your value aligned goals for 2023?
About 15 more seconds to wrap up step number three.
All right, step number four.
How many of you use some sort of a schedule, some sort of a calendar in your life by raise of hands? How many of you use a Google calendar and I calendar, an Outlook calendar, a paper calendar, whatever it is.
Take one minute right now, 90 seconds, one minute to 90 seconds, and pull open that calendar and block time that you know would be time you'd need to block to turn those goals that you set, those value aligned goals into reality and for you to live into step number two, those values and to create more wins in 2023. Do a rapid fire look through the schedule, whatever type of platform you're doing your schedule on, and time block to the best of your ability, whether you're blocking full days or you're blocking little blocks of hours. And as you put the time block in your calendar, give it a little whisper and say, I will protect you. I will protect you, because it will, will be challenged inevitably. So go through the calendar and time block, which just means create a chunk of time that says time for my time to make 2023 the best year ever. Time for my goals or time for me to become who I'm meant to be. Whatever that label is that you put on that time block can be very powerful and bring you back to this moment in time. So time block, give it some meaningful words or phrases that you know when you look at it will make you come alive.
30 seconds left.
We're on step number four. We're almost there.
Stay focused.
All right, last step here.
Last step is a little bit of a.
A personal experience around, measuring.
Our success around yearly goals. There's a handful of ways to do it. One of them is your daily check in. For example, in Hal's story, Hal's actually checking in on a day that correlates to his yearly goals. He has values, he has goals.
He had a great day sometime during the year, went to bed and created a pause, a moment for reflection, and reflected back on the day and thought to himself, that was an incredible day. So daily reflection in the evening. Time can be a very powerful resource for creating momentum and studying where you're Having success and studying where it is that you might be able to improve to create more momentum the next day, to create the 1% increase in effectiveness and productivity the next day. So one is daily measurement. For me personally, that comes in the form of two things. One is an RPM rapid planning method journal where I go through all the things that I said I was going to do in the morning and I give it little check boxes. I don't actually check boxes. I give it hearts, stars and dashes. I have like my own little game that I play with my daily reflection at the end of the business day. And then I have a gratitude journal before I go to bed every night before I go to bed for the last 10 years, at 99.99% of nights, I write at least three things that I'm grateful for, and that has been up to 5 and to 10. And without that gratitude journal, at the end of the night, I lose my sense of positive momentum in my life. And so that gratitude journal becomes an incredible reflective type of tool at the end of the day. And then you can go to week reviews like the one I just shared, where you're looking at your week calendar and you're saying, okay, how did I do? Did I check some things off? Did I do good work? Did I move towards my goals? Where can I improve? What did I not get to? How can I identify that without being reactive and look at it and say, okay, how might I improve 1%, 10% next week on this particular task? So there's weekly reflection and then there's quarterly reflection. And the quarterly reflection, you'd be reflecting on potentially quarterly goals. And so as you go through this five steps in step number three, one of the things that you can do is you can set goals on a quarterly and an annual basis to give yourself checkpoints along the way that can just give you more information of how to adjust along the way of the year towards your goals. So you've got quarterly, and then you're doing what we're doing right now, which is the annual one. So daily, weekly, quarterly. And then you have a wonderful annual kind of recharge like the one we're doing now. So that's step number five is as you start to measure and as you start to dissect where you're having success, where you're winning, what you're grateful for, you're keeping track of the wins, the lessons, the struggles, the challenges, and the losses all along the way so that at the end of the year, you don't have thousands of them to try and sift through. You've done a lot of capturing and sifting in smaller chunks that ultimately bring more awareness and more data into our lives and details for us to make adjustments to realign with our values, to get closer to our goals, if not hit them and surpass them, and then to continuously give ourselves freedom with our calendar. So on that, that's a little step number five, because we haven't gotten through the year, so we're not going to reflect yet, this next step is going to be not a step in this process. It's going to be an invitation to you. And the invitation is for you to go into another room, another breakout room where you get to share. Rapid fire. 60 seconds each. 60 seconds or so where you share. Here was my top win. Here was my top lesson. And you'll want to pay attention to this because this is going to be a fast pace share. This is my win. This is my lesson. This is my top value. Top value, top win, top lesson, top value. Here's my top goal right now. And, and here's an intention I want to set around my calendar. I want to be consistent, I want to be disciplined. I want to check in on my calendar. I want a time block. We don't necessarily report on number five right now. You're just going to do those first four. So number one, if we're looking at how that's going to go, you're going to share and when you share, you're going to share. Here was my win.
Here was my lesson.
Here's my number one value, here's my top goal, and here's my intention. Again, the intention is around. Could be around the calendar, it could be around just what your intention is for wanting to turn that goal into a reality. So step number one, feel so silent.
Oh, that's what I needed right there. That's what I needed. Okay, so win, lesson, Value, goal, intention. Again, rapid fire. What you're doing is you're strengthening your muscle to see it all connected, to see it all together, so that when you look at your week, your month, your quarter, your year, you go. I see it, I see my wins, I see my lessons, I see my values, I see my goals. And as they become more. More visible, you become more powerful, you become more of the creator because you have a formula and a sequence to utilize that inevitably brings you closer to where you want to go to who you want to be. So into the breakout rooms, roughly 60 seconds. With a group this big in the breakout rooms, if you didn't notice on the first one. Some of you ended up in groups of two and some of you ended up in groups of four. That's a pretty big difference in regards to timing when it comes to an activity like this. So if you end up being in a group of two, you have more time. Take like two minutes to do your share instead of one minute or even two and a half if you're in a group of two. If you're in a group of four, keep it to the 60 seconds so that we can get you back here, get a couple report outs and get you out of here on time. So with that share and then there's not actually a step two other than whoops, that's the right one. The only thing I'd ask on step number two is if you'd like to step number two, you could look for any themes or patterns, themes or patterns. And this would be things that you saw or heard from the other person that you're like, oh, I could see how what you said about freedom and what I said about hitting my financial goals are related. And you're essentially what you're doing in this step is you're looking for anything that is alike and you're looking for pattern recognition. You're not going to come back and report out on it. And there's no homework or test at the end on the themes or patterns. It's just an opportunity to hear someone else's goals, observe your goals and look for themes and patterns. And there's a power in looking for the themes and the patterns because it, it allows you to see themes and patterns, to be able to react not only in the moment to themes, pattern and patterns that just make you more powerful, to be able to make adjustments. So share 60 seconds, themes and patterns if you have time and then we'll bring you back from that breakout room. We'll hear from a handful of you and I'm going to hand it back over to Hal for an official closeout of 2022. If this sounds good, give me a double thumbs up and we will send you into the breakout room. All right. Rock and roll. Have a good time. You're iterating on your future right now. Enjoy it. Pay attention. How does it sound? How does it feel? What does it feel like inside? And take, take note of that, all that stuff for yourself. See you in a few minutes, y'. All.
And if you would like to go into a breakout room and you haven't been able to get into the breakout room yet or you're just joining. Go ahead and put in the chat. I would like to go in a breakout room. I would like to go in a breakout room. Just put that in the chat or breakout room for me. Or. I'm ready. One of those three. Put me in a breakout room. I'm ready.
Go ahead and put it in the chat and then we will get you into one of those rooms. I didn't get into a room. Oh, we got you, James. I'm going to make that. Thank you. You're welcome.
I don't know what happened. My screen just shut off and then it just showed me on my Zoom.
Yeah, Zoom can be funky sometimes. Although I don't see you.
I can see myself right here. Well, I see. Actually, I see you. I see you physically on the screen, but I'm talking about in the. In. In the back office of Zoom. There's a bunch of rooms. We're looking for you. We are looking.
Sydney, where are you?
I'm right here in Massachusetts. You guys are awesome. Massachusetts. No wonder I can't. Let's see. What are those paintings on the back.
Of the wall there?
No idea. I'm traveling right now.
All right. And how.
You are the man while I got you on the line there.
You're just amazing. You can.
I can't not believe how much you've helped me through a lot of stuff just from reading your books and listening.
To you every week. Thank you, Sidney. Thank you. I. That means so much, and it just. I'm so, so happy that. I just love seeing your smile, man.
Thanks. I'd love to come down and meet you sometime in Austin or if you're ever in the Boston area, you're more than welcome to come by my studio and see what I do.
Yeah. I haven't been to Boston in years, but great city. Yeah.
Sydney. I.
I moved Sydney to another room, so he should see a button pop up to join it.
Yeah, I did. I mean. Perfect. 10 now. Okay. Thanks, guys. Yep. Yeah, I appreciate it. Thank you so much. Be continued. Recording in progress.
I got a hot air balloon.
Oh, yeah. Here we go. Welcome back, everybody. Welcome back.
Welcome back. Welcome back. It's our last breakout session of 2022. Oh, my gosh. Last breakout session of 2022.
All right, almost everyone should be. Oh, wait, no. Now everyone's back.
Yeah.
Here we go.
Not even close.
We're getting close.
There we go. Thank you so much, Christine, for the wonderful dance moves. Hey, everyone, can we see your best dance move right now? Your best dance move of 2022. Don't save it for New Year's Eve. Let's bring it out right now.
I love you guys. All right, everyone put your hands up like this. We'll go side to side together.
Put a clap in the middle.
Just kind of becomes clapping.
Yeah, that was fantastic.
All right, here's what we're gonna do. We're gonna have you put your top goal for 2020. Let's do top goal for 2023 in the chat right now. So in the chat, write down your top goal for 2023. Go ahead and put it in the chat right now. Improving my health, career consistency. Lose 25kg. Financial freedom. Take care of myself. Move to New York City. Meditation. Have a career change. Flip my family business. It's going so fast, I can't even keep up. Here we go. Get it. But relationships help inner freedom reach my goals. Amazing. Look at that chat. That's like an explosion of goodness.
All right.
Value. What is your top value in one word? In one word? You could use two if you really want to use two. What was the top value that you had? So top. Faith, sincerity, Courage. Freedom. Peacefulness. Self, love. Faith, Balance.
Confidence. Time. Self, love, Health, Freedom. Joy. Joy, joy, joy. Implementation, health and growth. Friendship, Appreciation. Courage, Acceptance. Freedom, Joy. Focus, respect. Self, improvement.
Oh, that was powerful.
All right, I'm going to hand it over to Hal to help close us out. I know that Hal. Did you want to tell him about the Miracle Morning movie? Is that one of the things we wanted to do real quick?
Yeah, let's do that before we close it out. That's a good idea. So, and I already mentioned this in the, you know, in the beginning. Right. That we're looking for. How can we spread the Miracle Morning mission? And I don't know if you know that. Here's the quick story. The Nick Connadera, who is the producer of the Miracle Morning movie and he's been my friend for a long time. I was actually got to play a small role in his first film he did, called Sharp. It was his first full length film. I got to be on set and his crew did the Miracle Morning every day. That's how he started. Every day of filming is the cast and the crew. He led them through a Miracle Morning. So authentically. Right. This is a real part of his life. And he's been telling me about for years. He was saying, you need to do a Miracle Morning movie. And I was like, yeah, yeah, someday, someday, someday. And he kept pursuing it and pursuing it. And I said, I'm just, I'm Too busy. Like I can't even think about taking on another commitment like that. And one day he figured out how to get me to say yes. He called and he said, hal, I can literally picture myself sitting in my office in Temecula, California. And he said, hal, what's your mission with the Miracle Morning? I said, elevate the consciousness of humanity one morning and one person at a time. And he said, what percentage of humanity reads self help books? And I went like 2%, maybe, let's say 5% at the most. And he said, and what percentage of humanity re watches movies or.
Right?
And I was like, you know, in developed countries, the other 95%. And I go, I guess we're making a movie, right? And his point was, if we want to reach the masses and we want to elevate humanity's consciousness, we have to choose a medium that they're going to digest, right? And it's literally less than 5% of humanity that will ever read a self help book, or I shouldn't say will ever, but that reads self help books. So the reason we literally made the Miracle Morning movie and just so you know, like, we didn't make money on it, we lost a lot of money on like that wasn't the reason for making it, it was.
This is a way where we can, people can share the miracle morning in a really easy way, right? Hey, just check out this trailer, right? Hopefully the trailer, three minutes, gets them to watch the film, et cetera. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to. I accidentally put this in the chat earlier as I was like editing the draft, but I'm going to put this in the chat right now.
By the way, how many of you, by show of hands, have seen the Miracle Morning movie? How many of you have seen the documentary?
Wow. So not everybody. Okay. Yes, Jenny. Applause I appreciate that. So the. I just put a little script here. Here's what I'm going to ask everybody to do. It's a quick, easy ask, like just as a. If you'd be up for doing this since we put all this energy and just kind of we can all share the miracle morning individually.
The I put that little script where you can copy and you can edit it, right? That's just like a generic script. I'll put it in there again because some more of you have commented, but just copy and paste that. And you could send a group text to like all your friends or your family or whatever. But all you're doing is just letting them know that, hey, I found out the movie's free now, and here's where you can watch the trailer. You can watch the full Movie. That's it. MiracleMorningMovie.com actually, MiracleMorning.com because that's where they'll find. They'll find it, and that's it. And so I'm curious, and no pressure, but by a show of hands, how many of you think that would be, like, a positive thing that you'd be up for doing today or this week to just share the miracle morning with friends and family? Awesome. Thank you, guys and gals and brothers and sisters. Thank you. Right? It's just a free way to share the miracle morning movie. It doesn't cost them anything. Doesn't cost you anything shooting that quick text. So thank you for your support. All right, to close us out. How great was. How great was this experience, y'?
All?
Can I see a nod? Applause. Dancing, Christine. Great dancing. And this couldn't happen without so many people. People like Jeremy Reza, AKA Brother James, with his masterful facilitation. Can we come off mute? Let's make some noise for brother James. Unmute yourself.
Guys.
Awesome.
Thank you.
Thank you so much.
Feel free to throw him some energy. Throw him some love.
I love you.
Kind.
Reach us. Thank you. Thank you so much. Yeah.
Yes. And then. All right, we should. Let's all mute now.
Over delivered. You over delivered?
Like, delivered. I appreciate that. We try. We really do try. There's so many. There's weekly meetings that go into these, and we really try to make this a great experience for y'.
All.
Thank you for taking the time to be here. It says a lot about you that you're willing to carve out two hours on December 28 during the holiday week, Right? To be here and care enough about yourself and each other for this, it means a lot. And this, you know, it's really just echoing what I said in the beginning, that the miracle morning mission is to elevate the consciousness of humanity. And it's not my mission. It's not one person's mission. It's a collective mission of our community, and it emerged organically. It wasn't like I set the mission and then put it out there. It was like I observed what was already happening. Like, think about that, right? I observed what was happening in the Facebook group. I'm like, these are human beings every day dedicating time to elevating your consciousness individually. And then they're supporting each other with love and with selflessness and with empathy and with Generosity. And I was like, that's. This is the finest example of human beings actualizing their potential, and that's what all of you are doing. So I am so grateful to be a part of your life and have you a part of my life to be members of the Miracle Morning community, really, the Miracle Morning family, if you will. I really believe we're all brothers and sisters and members of this human family. And as the Miracle Morning community, we will continue to go out there and to wake up every day to our full potential and help other people do the same. So I love you. Thank you for sharing the movie. Thanks for being here today. And if you want to stay for another few minutes, Brother James is going to lead us, as we do at the end of all of these, through a few minute song called the Miracle Morning song that he and I co authored. And the day after I did a chemo session, I went to the studio with him, and there's footage of this at the end of the miracle Morning movie. And I actually, you know, I was on chemo. I was bald. My daughter was with me, my dad was with me, and we recorded the Miracle Morning song together. So it is such a beautiful experience for me to get to witness you, Jer, bring this to life as you do, man. I love you so much. Here we go.
Love you, too, man.
When life is not where we want it to be when we're getting stressed out with our reality and we're walking out the door 10 minutes too late I'm driving to a job that's good not great we're well I want to be free I want to live in harmony and I need a miracle but no more mediocrity and I want to feel great I want to change my fate it's time to make it happen I know what it's going to take this is a miracle morning.

That was fantastic. I didn't realize I was in for a duet. Hey, thanks, everyone, for letting me close this.
Thank you.
Thank you.
And actually, one more thing. The everybody I see asking, where's the song? Where's the song? What's the name of the song? It's called the miracle morning and it's, you know, I get it on itunes, it's on Spotify. It's where, for the most part, wherever there are songs. And then just the last thing somebody else asked, what was that? That script again? I'm going to put it in the chat real quick. If you want to copy that on your computer so you can paste it or on your phone or whatever, here, I'll put it again. So I just put that little friend script to share the miracle morning movie. Jeremy, I love you, brother. Thank you for bringing so much of your heart and soul to these monthly gatherings. Dude, you. You are you. You're the heart of this, buddy.
You're very welcome. Ditto.
All right, all right. I love all of you. Have a great rest of your 2022. And here's to our best year ever in 2023. And we'll see, y'. All. January 25th will be our next monthly gathering. And we'll see you then. Take care, everybody.
Happy new year.
Bye.
New year.
Happy new year.
Happy new Year.
Thank you so much.
Thank you.
