In this sermon‑style video, the speaker argues that while the Bible never explicitly forbids marijuana, it provides clear principles that guide believers in evaluating its use. Citing 1 Corinthians 6:12, he emphasizes the biblical command to not be mastered by anything, framing the core question as whether weed has power over the individual. He distinguishes casual use from dependence, warning that reliance on marijuana for stress relief, sleep, or emotional regulation signals a loss of self‑control and sober‑mindedness. The talk suggests that the real issue is not the substance itself but what the person is using it to escape from, linking this to one’s spiritual condition. The speaker concludes by inviting viewers to follow 514 Grace Church for a second part that will explore how the things we run to reveal deeper spiritual truths, and urges immediate action to subscribe.

The Bible never says don't smoke weed. So is it a sin? Let's be honest, you will not find one verse that says thou shalt not smoke marijuana. Listen to me, it's not there. But that does not mean the Bible is silent, because the scripture says in 1 Corinthians chapter 6, verse 12, it says, I will not be brought under the power of any In plain language, Paul is saying, "I refuse to let anything become my master." So before you ask, is weed mentioned in the Bible? Let me ask you a better question: Does it have power over you? Can you relax without it? Can you sleep without it? Can you handle stress without it? Can you stop? For 30 days without becoming anxious or irritated or defensive. Because there's a difference between using something and needing something. And when you get to the place where you say, I need this to feel normal, we are no longer just talking about personal freedom. We're talking about dependence. I said it, dependence. Scripture repeatedly calls believers to be sober-minded and self-controlled. So no, the Bible does not specifically say don't smoke weed or don't smoke marijuana, but it absolutely gives us principles about what controls us, what affects our judgment, and whether we are living in self-control. Now here is where this gets deeper. What if the biggest issue is not what you're smoking, What if the real issue, listen to me, is what you are asking weed to do for you? Because if you need it to escape stress or pain or loneliness or anger or rage or trauma or your own thoughts, then this conversation is no longer only about marijuana. It is about what has become your refuge. And that question changes everything. Follow 514 Grace Church right now. Because in part 2, I'm going to show you why the thing you run, the thing you run to when life gets heavy, may reveal more about your spiritual condition than the weed itself. And we're going to answer the question most people never ask: are you using it? Listen. Or has it started using you? God bless you. Follow us, 514 Grace Church, for part 2. We'll see you then. God bless.
