NIRA Precision vs NIRA Pro: Which to Choose

In this sponsored video, Cheryl McColgan, founder of Heal, Nourish, Grow, shares her hands‑on experience using two at‑home skin‑rejuvenation devices from Nira – the older Nira Precision and the newer Nira Pro. She explains why she started with the Precision in June to treat fine lines, wrinkles, and hooded eyelids, describing the visible improvement in lid visibility after consistent daily use. After receiving a Pro for testing, Cheryl outlines the technical differences: the Pro maintains the effective collagen‑stimulating temperature (≈46 °C) for 50 % longer, has a larger treatment head, and automates the firing sequence, whereas the Precision requires a manual press and offers a tighter tip for precise areas. She demonstrates how both devices signal proper contact (beep) and improper contact (error sound), discusses perceived heat differences (Precision feels hotter but both are below pain threshold), and shows that the Pro can treat larger areas in roughly half the time. Cheryl walks through her treatment routine – clean dry skin, device use, then applying hyaluronic‑acid serum followed by regular skincare. She shares before‑and‑after observations: reduced chin lines, lighter hyperpigmentation, improved skin tone, and notably less hooded eyelids, though consistency (daily use) remains crucial. The video also includes a brief sponsor disclosure, background on Nira’s founder (engineer with laser experience, USA‑made products), and a holiday discount code. Cheryl ties the skin‑care results to broader wellness, emphasizing confidence, mood, and the synergy of internal health practices with external appearance.

Hey everyone, I'm Cheryl McColgan, founder of Heal, Nourish, Grow. Welcome to my channel where we talk about all things health and wellness. Today I am back in my bathroom here to chat with you about the Nira Precision and the new version, the Nira Pro. So I have been using the Nira Precision since about June to treat my fine lines and wrinkles and my hooded eyelids. I have experienced great success so far. If you've watched some of my previous videos, I'll get in here a little closer so you can see that I'm basically seeing some of both of my lids right now, which before, uh, they were quite hooded and you couldn't see any of my lid. And that is from treating with the Nira Precision. And then recently I've gotten a chance to try the Pro. So today I just wanted to share with you some of the differences between the two of them. Before we get started, I do need to let you know that this video is sponsored by Nira, but I have to tell you, I spoke with the founder this week, David Bean, and after learning how he started the company, what he's into, why he's so passionate, uh, about putting these devices on the market, I feel even more convinced that I made such a good decision partnering with this company because the people there are wonderful and it's also all made in the USA. It's a— he's an entrepreneur. His background was as an engineer who worked in lasers. It's just a really cool background story. I'm really looking forward to having him as a guest on my podcast so I can share more of that with all of you. But until then, today we're going to talk about these devices and the benefits that I've experienced because I just really want to show you what you can do without fillers, without, uh, Botox, that sort of stuff. Not that I'm against any of those things, obviously, but it is a way that you can, you know, treat some of these skin things at home in far less time than it takes to go to an office. And one of the things I want to say about that, it's kind of interesting, when I was talking to David, being the founder, we were talking about, you know, these at-home devices versus office treatments, because I have had IPL laser on my face in the past as an office treatment. And one of the things that came out of my mouth, and the way it came out is not exactly how I meant it. One of the things that I said was that, you know, the in-office procedures, maybe it takes less time for people. Well, it truly doesn't take less time because if you count in driving to the office, being in the chair, doing the procedure, all that stuff takes a lot of time. Typically it would end up being something around 2 hours, whereas you're just doing this procedure a couple of minutes each day. Um, so it is actually probably about the same amount of time. And then in addition to that, you know, it takes your skin a while to actually build the collagen after you begin treating it. And that process of building collagen is really the same for whether you do an in-office procedure or whether you do these daily treatments. So it's all going to take time. It's not an overnight solution. Like I said, it took me— I started seeing probably results after using it daily for 60 days. I could really tell some difference in my eyelids, but it wasn't until now that I've gotten further along in the treatments that I can see that progression. And if I think back to my IPL treatments in the past, you know, it would also be months later before you could really see the full effects of the collagen and stuff. You really wouldn't see anything right away. So that's just some similar things. It's also much less painful. So what the Nira does that's different than an in-office laser, number one, it's, it's not nearly as strong, but it only heats your skin to, I believe the number is 46 degrees Celsius, which is right below the pain threshold, but it's also at the threshold that is required to actually stimulate collagen production. So I'm not a scientist, I'm not having super geeked out on this topic. You know, I geek out on a lot of other topics, but from what I've read about it, you're really getting the effective treatment window. So the nice thing about the Pro version that they've brought out is that you're actually in that sweet spot of that effective treatment window for 50% longer than the Precision. So that's definitely one difference between the two of them. As far as how they actually work on your skin, I'll just show you quickly a couple couple things. So they're similar in that you turn them on like with this button, and you can see there's only— well, hopefully you can see that right now there's only one green light. There's actually 5 levels, so the 5th one is the strongest. Usually when you first start, you might start out on a lower level because you're not looking for pain here, you're just looking to get used to the treatment and start stimulating collagen. And so over time, as your skin becomes more accustomed to the treatment, then you can turn it up. This one does require that you press a button, and if you hear that noise, that means it's not in contact with the skin, whereas if I press it now, you can hear it, and that means it was a successful treatment. When you get that little beep, if you get this sound, like if you don't quite put it on there right or you move it too quickly, it alerts you that you haven't treated it properly. What's different about the Pro, you can see there's only one button on this to turn it on. Same thing, it has 5 levels, but when you touch it to your skin, it does the firing itself, so you don't have to press that additional button. It does take a little longer to fire higher, but it's all automatic. And it has the same feature there where if you don't quite get it on there, you take it away too quickly, you'll get that noise that tells you the area was not treated. So that's the two main differences in how they work. You can see that the surface area that the Nira Pro treats is much larger, so you could treat your whole face, back of your hands, anywhere that you've got discoloration. You can treat that in a much shorter period of time, whereas this one does have the advantage— so if you're specifically working on your eyelids, you can really get in there much more tight to the actual treatment side. However, after talking again to the founder, one of the questions I had was about, you know, if you're getting the same effect there. And really the answer is, because of what I said about the longer treatment time that you're in, that window that stimulates the collagen, I feel that even for the hooded eyelids, even though I'm not getting there as precisely with the tip as, um, with the Precision versus the Pro, I feel like the effectiveness of the treatment is probably even better just because of that longer time that you're in the zone. So the other things that I noticed about this, if I do them, especially if I do them at the same time, I can feel subjectively that the Precision is much hotter feeling on the skin than the Pro. And so when I asked David about this, he said that perception is accurate, but it doesn't have anything to do with the effectiveness of the treatment. So the reason that this one doesn't seem as hot is, again, it's extending that over a longer period of time that heats the skin, and so you're not perceiving it to be as hot. Now, even that said, the way that this feels on your skin is not painful. It's just, like I said, subjectively it feels like a little bit warmer on the skin than the Pro does. So after all that being said, I'll show you now. You've seen how I use the Precision model in the past, and I'm going to go ahead and turn that off. So now I'll show you how I've been using the Pro, and I've been using it on the same spots. So these lines on each side of my chin that were basically, um, they basically disappeared, but I'm continuing to treat them just to make sure that that effect stays. So it's really nice because you can— I can treat that with basically once, where before I had to do about 5 in a row of the Precision. And then the smile lines, again, you can see how this goes very, very quickly with this head being so much larger. You'll also notice that you just heard the fan kick in. So after you get started doing a few treatments, once it gets to a certain temperature, it uses the fan to help keep it consistent. And if you're only— if you're not treating your whole face, if you're just treating these spots, and you'll hear that I didn't quite have it in place, that's why I got the sound that I just got. You'll notice that when I go ahead and treat my whole face here, but just the spots that I'm working on for the wrinkles, fine lines, hooded eyelids, that this goes very, very quickly in comparison to the Precision. I would say it probably takes me about half the time now to treat it. And I've never done this while talking before, obviously. But because of the larger surface area, you don't have to get in super tight to see what you're doing either because it treats such a larger area that as long as you are in the general vicinity, you should be pretty good. So you could even do this— a lot of people do it in front of the television, um, again, because you don't have to be as precise. You're really just able to do it probably in more areas where you wouldn't before. Probably watching TV is the most common application because obviously if you're doing anything else with your hands, you're not going to be able to hold the laser. But you can see here now we're just about done already. And I've got that one spot that's— this is really almost gone too. It is so much lighter than when I started treating with this. That's pretty much it. So let me get in a little tighter here. This is always so scary, but I want you to try to see if you can see how now you can really see my eyelid much better. It's much better on the right, but even the left now versus the last time I showed this, the left has been a little slower to come around for whatever reason. And now I'm starting to see more of my eyelid on on the left as well. And certainly I notice like when I'm talking or emoting on video, I can really see almost my whole lid now, whereas before it was so hooded that I couldn't see any of it. And I'll try to put in a little clip of, um, the one of the videos, even the last one I did, just so you can see the difference between then and now. It's again subtle, but it is working. It takes consistency, and I have to admit I have not been quite as religious as I was when I did the first 3 months. I did it every single day, and last couple of months I've been traveling quite a bit and had some other things that kind of interrupted my consistency, unfortunately. But now going into the holidays, I really want to make sure that I am doing this every single day again, just being really consistent. The final, um, step of the treatment is to go in with the hyaluronic acid serum. And this is just once you're completely finished. You start with clean, dry skin. And you'll probably notice if you looked really close when I got in there, I got a little dryness happening on my skin. I right now, it's because I haven't moisturized or anything, because you just use the Nuro on clean, clean dry skin, and then you treat with hyaluronic acid. And then from there you can move on with your— the rest of your daily routine, whether it's, um, you know, adding some moisturizer, sunblock of course, and all your serums, makeup, everything as normal after you're finished with all this. The skin does not feel hot. You can see that it's— I mean, my skin normally has just a little redness in my face As a rule, with the DaNiera, does not make it any more red than when it started. So I think I covered just about everything that I wanted to chat about today. If you're watching this video in the week that it comes out, we are very close to Black Friday, Cyber Monday, all the exciting holiday sales. It's a pretty amazing deal. I also think it'd make a great gift, especially if you've used it yourself and you've experienced how much it helps. I've heard a lot of people say that they've brought it— bought it for their mom or for sisters or something like that. We all share our, uh, health tips for hopefully aging somewhat gracefully. And my one sister that's like 6 years younger than me, she's always looking at my face to try to see like what's coming next. My code will always get you an awesome discount, but for special times of the year or when we have these videos that are sponsored by Nira, they're always so kind and give us an extra discount for that timeframe. If you have any questions, please pop 'em into the comments below. I'm always happy to answer any questions that you may have. Um, again, You can also see the hyperpigmentation on the side of my face. I've been working on that with the Nira as well, and it's certainly lighter. It's always challenging when I'm still getting sun on my face every day. I walk outside every day. I'm a snowboarder, I'm a hiker, so I'm always in the sun. So despite sunblock, it is just a never-ending battle with hyperpigmentation. But I do feel like overall that my skin, um, not texture, but the, the evenness of the skin tone is definitely much improved since I've been consistent with this device. And on any other day that I've been using the Pro, I hit the areas that I showed you today because I wanted to show you how quick that is if you're just treating areas of specific concern. But if you literally go through and treat your entire face, it doesn't take that much longer, maybe about 3 to 4 more minutes. Um, that is the time where I do like to get closer in and do it a little bit more precise so they don't miss any spots. But that is what has been helping with hyperpigmentation. And then even on a day where I don't do the whole face, I will hit— um, and it's hard because I'd have to get in a little bit closer, but any specific darker spots, I would, after doing my other treatments— already turned it off, that's why it didn't beep— but I would go in and place it directly over the hyperpigmentation and just treat that spot. So yeah, it's been a wonderful tool, a great addition to my wellness thing. I always feel like I'm just doing something really special for myself and taking care of myself when I use products like this. I always think, you know, You know, obviously this channel is very focused on health and wellness from the inside. So what we're eating, how we're moving, exercise, all of those good things, supplements. But if you take care of all that stuff on the inside and you want to have like a certain confidence in the way that you project to the world too, right? Because that affects your mood, it affects how you're feeling. Days that you feel like you're put together and looking good, you're more likely to work out, you're more likely to have good interactions with people. It's just, it's all tied together. So that is why I like to share about these sorts of things on the channel too, not just about food, not just about diet, not just about exercise, but doing all of these things in combination are really, you know, the tools that are going to help you feel your best. It's just me like telling you what works for me and how I perceive it and how I think it's helping me feel better and look better in my body. So that's what you'll get on this channel. You won't get perfect lighting and perfect, perfect delivery and all that good stuff, but you will get my opinion. So anyway, until next time, have a wonderful rest of your day, rest of your week, wherever you are.
