Come on this journey with me each week when you join me, we are going to chase down our goals, overcome adversity, and set you up for a better tomorrow. Fasten your seatbelts. I'm ready for my close up. Hi, and welcome back. I'm so glad you're back here with me this week. Okay. I don't even know where to start. So much has happened in one week. It's incredible. So let me start here. I, I don't know what's going on in your life right now, but literally everything can change this week. Truly, it's incredible. When you are moving through times of uncertainty, really what that means is you're moving through times of possibility, opportunity, and anything can happen if you're open to it. Right. I mean, again, obviously, there's a lot that, you know, has to do with how you feel if you're putting yourself out there, how you're projecting yourself. You know, if you're around positive people, if you're doing things you like to do. So you're vibing, you know, your energy is right, that you're putting yourself in this realm of opportunity versus if you're super down around people who speak poorly to you. You know, you're in a job you can't stand, you're miserable. I truly believe your energy is lower and you're going to miss the opportunities if you're in those situations. So do things you love with people you love. And I get it. You know, for years I was in a job I did not love. But I will say this. I have always had an incredible relationship with my son. Regardless of what was happening in my romantic relationships, I always have incredible friends. Right. So there's always a part of my life that's super positive. I always work out, which is something I love to do. Right. I live in Miami, which is something I love. I love where I live. So even though I've gone through times in my life as an adult that definitely not everything was perfect, there were always areas in my life I could go to that would bring my energy back up again. So all I'm asking for you right now, especially, especially for this week ahead, find ways to bring yourself around those positive things. Find the things that you're grateful for and spend time there. Because the better your energy is, the better your life is going to be. And the goal is to get us to, you know, no one's nailing it every single day for sure, and there's going to be challenges. But for us to get in a headspace and Mindset that, you know, the majority of the time, we're happy. The majority of the time there's joy. The majority of time, we're really grateful and love the things and the people that we're with. That's. That's the goal, to find joy in every moment. But again, that has not always been my life. I'm learning this later in life. As you know, it was just my 49th birthday. Shout out. If you left me a review of the podcast, thank you so much. It means the world to me. You've no idea how hard I've worked. Maybe you do know I've worked really, really hard to bring this to light since 2019. This is my fourth year. It's so wild. Super proud of that. Super grateful you're here with me. So grateful you share the show with people that you think it can help and leave me reviews and share it online. No one succeeds alone, including this girl. So thank you for your help with that. This last week in celebrating my birthday, and I have so much to tell you about this week, it's so crazy, but I was thinking about so many things that I did this week and so much happened. It's like a culmination of a year, I swear, in this last week, which is incredible. I had no idea any of this stuff was going to happen, which is so exciting because I can't now wait for this week.
Right.
Because we have no idea what's about to happen this week, which is wild. But I would say that a year ago, some of the people I spent a lot of time with, this week, I didn't even know. It's kind of crazy because for a while I was in a routine at work and where I lived and seeing the same people, and that wasn't the case for me. A lot's changed. This year's been wild. You know, I've moved. I, as you know, have been growing my business. So I'm around completely different people trying and doing different things all the time, taking risks. Some of them work out, some don't. Some of the people are great, some are not. Right? I mean, it's life. But I'll say that because I've met so many new people and done so many new things, I've opened myself up to so much opportunity. And the last week really was. Was a culmination of so much of it coming together. And it's just. Listen, I've been in moments where I wondered, you know, when will something ever come together? But you just keep going. This week was one of them. It was one of those weeks I just said whole. It's all coming together right now and I am so incredibly grateful.

However, and I tell you this every week. I always feel like I'm getting messages from the universe, from God, that there's something I have to share with you. Here's one of the things that came up this week that I wanted to share with you. And I'm gonna jump all over the place. Cause I have so much to tell you. It's so flipping wild. Wild. I'm so grateful. I'm just. I'm so grateful. Okay, so I got a message from a friend of mine the other day about something about this person's child. And something was going on and it was a struggle and it was super sad. And then I saw another friend this week who I hadn't seen in a while and she was telling me horrible struggles with her child. And then I was on the phone with a really good friend of mine who I talked to all the time. And he was telling me, you know, about his child struggle. And I just thought, wow, I'm hearing about all these struggles with children right now. And it made me pause and think. Back in 2020, I had a really hard year with my son. He went through some incredibly challenging times. Obviously a lot of it because the pandemic and losing sports and not being able to see friends and you know, at home, school and isolation was awful. Anyhow, I decided that year to really let go of so much around work and focus on him, which is very hard for me. I love what I do. I love to work. But I just knew in that moment my son needed me. And it was so clear cut to. Here we are now 2023. My son is thriving in. And when I heard all these messages this week from people sharing that they were struggling with their children, it reminded me that three years ago, I prayed for a day that my son would be back on sports teams and with friends and happy and healthy and thriving and vibrant again. And today he's more vibrant than I could have ever imagined. I'm so proud of him. I have so much faith in who he is. I trust him so much. He's such a good kid.
And.
And I was reminded of that this week, that when I had these conversations with three different people, that I'd already forgotten how lucky I was to have the situation. Do you ever do that?
Right?
So we move on to the next problem. We move on to wanting this big work partnership or this, you know, next promotion or this romantic relationship we want to pan out. We move on to the next thing or the new place you want to get that you want to move to. We move on and start praying for and focusing on, you know, wanting something different, our own health to be better. I don't know, somebody else in your family to be better. And we forget and don't really celebrate and feel grateful for that thing that we prayed so much for and realize we have it. And so it gave me pause this week. So much so I'm driving my kid crazy. Cause I keep telling him how incredibly proud I am of him, and he's like, I know, Mom. I get it. I get it.
I.
But I really am. And I'm just so grateful to God and I'm so thankful. You know, prayers, work and dreams do come true. Don't lose sight of that. What is that one thing in your life right now that maybe three years ago you were praying for? That's completely different now. So much better. And maybe, like me, you kind of just dismissed it and now take it for granted that it's just normal. Hearing from these three different people this week reminded me I can't just dismiss this. I need to celebrate that my child is doing incredibly well and celebrate that things change because they weren't always this way. And I feel so blessed and so grateful. And I want him to know that. And I want you to know that. Because, listen, tough times happen right we all go through them and we need to make tough decisions in those tough times. But tough times can change. And they can change quickly and get so much better. And celebrate. And thank God for those blessings and prayers when they come true. And celebrate them. And feel grateful because I tell you, I feel so incredibly grateful. And I'm grateful to those three friends that shared with me their struggles with their kids because that's what opened my eyes, too. I know what that was like. Cause I went through it in 2020 and it was awful. There's very few things that are as hard as watching your child struggle. And I'm so grateful that is over.
And.
And it also gives me hope to speak into other people when they're going through it. So I'm grateful they shared it with me. So if you're going through a tough time right now. No, it can change. And it can change so quickly. Prayers work. Sharing with people you trust helps. Asking for help helps. And think about in your life what was something that maybe three years ago you were praying for that came true that we already are now taking for granted? And let's take a minute and be grateful for it. Okay? That was something important I wanted to share with you. Okay? So as I mentioned, this week was crazy because it was my birthday. I got to, you know, a year ago, I didn't even know the John Maxwell team. I was not on a steering committee for his events. I didn't know John Maxwell.
Right.
None of this stuff. It's so wild how here we are a year later and I actually spent my birthday with them and they sang happy birthday to me and had cards for me and celebrated my birthday. And I mean, literally over the top, so generous and made me feel so special and so kind. These are people I did not know one year ago who would think that at 49, you're going to meet homies in your life that are literally like ride or die. These guys have my back. It's so clear. Trust them all so much. They're all salt of the earth, incredible humans that I feel blessed and grateful to call friends. We laugh together, have so much fun together, work together, and do so much good together. It's just incredible. So be open to that idea that all the great people in your life, there can be more out there. You maybe just haven't met them yet, right? And you might know them one year from now and you might spend your birthday with them next year, just like I did. So I just thought that was pretty cool. Something else I feel really, really grateful for this week. Okay, so two major things happened in the last week that I could have never planned. Never. I certainly am blown away by. But for me, I guess what I want to share with you about it is this. You got to think bigger. I'm always reminding myself of this, that there's nothing too big out there, right? If it's about you and stepping into the gifts that are who you are and what you're good at and what you believe you've been put on this earth to do to make the world a better place, if you're doing good, think bigger. Think of how can you impact more people? How can you enlarge your impact? What could that look like? Who would you need to partner with? What platform would you need access to? And it's okay if you don't know how it would actually happen. I certainly did not. I literally had no idea. The two opportunities that came to fruition this week and are turning into partnerships. I had no idea. One year ago, I had no idea. Six months ago, I had no idea before even this week. Now, I'm gonna give you all the details. I can't share them yet. I will share them. So soon you're going to flip out because it's so exciting and so incredible and I'm so excited. I can't wait to tell you. But I guess the thing I want you to know is one week ago today, I didn't know these things were gonna happen. So you know what?
I did.
Cause I'm always trying to remind myself. Cause I forget too when I get busy, right? I forget too during the week when I. I have a tough day or something doesn't go right, I forget. So what I've been doing, and I so encourage you to do this, journaling is such a powerful tool to help us get to know ourselves, become more self aware, see where we're holding ourselves back. But also to remember the wins and the surprise and the excitement, because then that reminds us that we can expect that same opportunity, possibility, probability, the next week, the next day. And that's what I did this week, was I was so disciplined about writing all these things down. So now when I go and look at my notes, which I read over in the morning, all the things that I want to celebrate and, you know, look forward to and cast into my future vision, I can remember that. Wow. You know, on the beginning of this week, I had no idea these two opportunities were going to come together, but they did. And then I write down the notes of the triggers that happened that day. How I was feeling, what was happening, that I prayed right before I got the text message, that I took notes before I got on my zoom meeting and what I was saying to myself and how it went so much better than I could have ever forecasted or imagined. You know, I do all those things to help train myself, prime my mind, and put me in a better position for that next opportunity, that next meeting, that next possibility, that next week. So I encourage you to do the same. It really, really helps because we are so quick to forget the blessings and excitement and the fact that we didn't know any of this was gonna happen and instead fixate on, you know, the drop ball or that it would fall apart or, you know, this didn't happen, which was a bummer. Or, you know, sometimes it's easier to believe the negative versus the opportunity, possibility and probability of the positive. And this week, I'm just vibing so high. I'm so excited. I'm so optimistic. I'm so grateful. There's nothing that's stopping this. I'm just going to tell you that right now, I am riding this tidal wave of positivity into next week. Super excited. I hope you choose to join with me. And it's funny, anytime I feel like this, so, so excited and so optimistic and so positive, I always want to share it with people. So every chance I get, I send a nice note to somebody that has impacted me in a really positive way, to thank them, right? To let them know I see them, I see the good work they're doing that they inspire me. And I always get back the most incredible notes, which then in turn, I think I'm doing something nice for somebody, they end up doing something so much nicer for me because I feel so much more grateful and so much more inspired. So that's always a great way to pick yourself up. Whether having a great week or struggling with something is think about somebody out there that's impacted you in a positive way and how you can send a note to them and make their world better in that moment, no matter where they are or what they're doing. So it was an incredible week. I am so grateful to the whole Maxwell team. If you have never been to a John Maxwell event, please go. Guy is an icon beyond what you can imagine. And getting to spend some time with just wonderful, wonderful people that I'm hoping you have great people in your life, but if you don't, you can definitely meet incredible people at John Maxwell events. It's just mind blowing. And the more we can put ourselves around great people doing good in the world to help others. The better you're going to feel, the higher your energy is going to be, the more you're going to attract better possibility and opportunity into your life. So I strongly encourage you to do.

Thank you for the role that you played in making this such a great week for me. I'm just incredibly grateful. So thankful. Okay, so I wanted to share. I went to church today. I'm actually recording this on Sunday. And of course this is not going to shock you. It was literally probably the best service I've ever been to in my whole life. Rich Wilkerson Jr. Vu Church I tell you this all the time. You can watch it online. It's so good. It's he's in the middle of a collection. He's doing all about I hate myself because I hate you. And it's about hate and how our culture right now and where we are in the world right now. People want to condemn others and vilify others and hate others and they're bitter about conditions and upset about this. And, you know, it's crazy. It's so over the top and ridiculous. And his message today is all about how Jesus is about forgiveness and how our job as Christians is to forgive and show kindness and not condemnation and resentment and bitterness and anger. Whenever I'm in church, I think to myself, how can I apply this message to me? Like, what's something specific I can do? And I thought to myself specifically that there's somebody who's a friend of mine who I just think is rather selfish. And it annoys me because another friend of mine's always trying to help this person. And sometimes I'll say, I mean, I think that you might want to take your foot off the gas over there on your kindness meter because this person doesn't repay you and isn't kind back to you. And I thought, listening to this day, you know what? That's not right for me to be condemning that individual. That's I don't know that person's situation. I'm not living their life. Instead, what I can do is offer forgiveness from my heart to that person for me and then to myself for judging them too.
Right?
And let that bitterness go and instead, you know, lead with love. And so I did something nice for that person today, just because I wanted to adhere to that lesson that I heard, which is a really good one and a positive one. And the more we forgive others, inevitably, the more we open ourselves up to forgive ourselves, the more we allow for more love in our life, for more joy in our life. And that's the whole goal. So I encourage you to do that, too. If there's someone or some situation where maybe you've been judgmental, manipulative, condemning, hating, whatever the word is, that resonates with you. But when you can think about what is that situation, and how could you pour forgiveness into it? How could you pour love into it? How could you pour understanding into it? And our pastor used this really cool visual today, which so powerful. He was talking about, people are offended by this or offended by that. And he brought out offended fence and was, you know, offended a fence. Right. Offense. It was a play on the words, which was super powerful. The visual, so strong. And he was showing himself. Carrying this fence around is heavy, right? And he's saying, it just burdens you. It's a burden to you. Being offended by others is a burden to you. It's wearing you down, and it's no way to live. And so, gosh, it was just such a big, powerful message today. It was so good. So much about forgiveness, so much about not judging others, so much about not condemning others, and so much about letting the past go and living in the present moment and living in forgiveness and living in love and joy and understanding and empathy for others. So hopefully there's somewhere in your life that you can apply that message. I thought it was so beautiful, and then it was so cool. Were watching this incredible service, and again, you can get it on YouTube. It's super powerful. But this sermon that I was in, which is not the one that you'll see on YouTube, if you go on YouTube and check it out, the power went out at the end. And I mean, there's thousands of people there. And we're in this packed venue, and the power goes out. And so our church is super tech savvy, right? Like, they have light shows, and literally the VU worship is like. It's like a concert in and of itself. Well, all the lights go out, the sound goes out, the music goes out. And our pastor was on stage with the VU Worship team, and it was just so incredible. The whole entire church started singing, and I don't know how, but it sounded incredible, and it was so moving and so Emotional. And then, you know, this went on for, like, five minutes. Everyone was singing the song, which was so beautiful. And then at the end, the pastor walked to the front to start speaking, and the moment he got to the very front of the stage, the power and sound immediately went on, and he spoke this beautiful prayer and blessing into everyone, and there was not a dry eye in the house. I will tell you that. It's one of those moments that you just know God is there with you, and it is. What an incredible experience. Oh, my gosh. I don't know where you're at on your spiritual journey, but VUE Church Online, if you can check it out, it's really powerful. And I've sent so many people to vu, and I've never had anyone come back and tell me, oh, that sucked.
Right?
Like, I only recommend things in people and situations that I really stand by. So if you want a positive message, you need more. And my podcast is wrapping up. I don't have any more for you today. Then I need you to go check it out, because I promise you, you'll love it. And who doesn't want to be forgiven? Who doesn't want to have more love and joy in their life? And it starts with us not condemning others, starts with us forgiving others, and it starts with us putting those offenses down. And wait till you see what he does with this fence was masterful. And that also inspires me with my speaking, right? When I see someone masterfully just doing something creative and memorable and impactful, and I always think, how can I learn from this? And how can I be a better speaker as a result? And, yeah, I want to bring a fence out in my next speech. I do. I really do. I'm like, oh, my gosh, how could I get this topic into my next talk to make it something so cool like this? So, again, there's opportunities to learn all around us. There's opportunities to challenge our own way of thinking and get better and grow. And again, that's why we're here, to become that best version of ourselves through growth, through trial, through error, through forgiveness. And I'm feeling really, really inspired today. I'm feeling so inspired from this week, and I'm feeling really grateful for you. So if you haven't yet, please go leave a review of the show. It helps so, so much. If you could share the show with someone that you think can benefit from it. That helps so much, too, and lets me know that you like the content I'm creating so I can create more of it for you. And if you ever want to let me know a show, a specific topic you'd like to hear about, or you have a question you want me to answer live on the show, I'll always do that for you. Shoot me a DM on any social media. I'm everywhere at Heather Monahan. Or you can go to heathermonahan.com and there's a place on my website where you can send me notes, requests, and I will respond to them all. I always do. Until next week. I hope you keep creating your confidence. I know I will be. I decided to change that dynamic. I couldn't be more excited for what you're gonna hear. Start learning and growing. Inevitably, something will happen. No one succeeds alone. You don't stop and look around once in a while. You could miss it. Come on this journey with me.
