How To Build A High-Performance Sales Culture

Building a high-performance sales culture means setting behavioral standards like punctuality and positive energy, not demanding perfection every month. Top earners mentor newcomers and coach for growth rather than cut throats for quarterly numbers.

And I think that's been a really important sort of value that we introduced a few years ago, where I'm not expecting world-class performance from an end result every single month. I'm expecting a consistency of attitude and of energy. So if someone is unable to meet those expectations in terms of the things that require zero skill that Joe referred to earlier, then Metric isn't the right environment for them. And I think we're pretty firm on that. We understand that there's context within recruitment, right? And you can't control the end goal at all times. So we're not walking around saying, right, you've not scored a fee in X amount of days, so you're not cutting it today. Right? But, but certainly if individuals are comfortable being late regularly, have bad body language, don't want to buy into what we're doing here, and that then it's not the right environment for them, clearly. But we've got high expectations on, on those things, but we work with people to make them world-class. It doesn't just happen like that.
Yeah, I, I think that's a good question that you ask because it is so openly high performance. But, but we're also really aware that you are not just going to come in in month 2 and start doing 100K periods. The whole business is set up to be aspirational, right? So when people come in and we hire a lot of new people into recruitment every month, every year, there's a ton. As long as you are trying your best and you are improving and you are working as hard as you possibly can, you will stay with the business because it's set up to be aspirational. I talked earlier about everyone's getting better every single year, everyone's improving every single year. It's, it's meant to be motivating. And when you've got people in the room who are billing a million, 2 million a year, and they're really nice people and they're humble and they will come and help you. That's a motivating place to be. So it isn't cutthroat at all. It's very much like, if you want to learn, we will help you get to this point. And it's, and it's completely aspirational.
