In this brief monologue, Wim Hof explains what true cold adaptation means. He defines adaptation as the optimized stimulation of the vascular system, which simultaneously trains the heart and reduces cardiac stress. By exposing the body to cold for roughly two minutes, the extensive vascular network (about 120,000 km) becomes activated and muscular tone relaxes, achieving what he calls the perfect physiological condition. Any exposure beyond this duration shifts the focus from physiological benefit to mental training, and he cautions against forcing longer stays solely for physical reasons.
