Wim Hof recalls his 1999 TV debut when Finnish reporter Billy Brooks challenged him to swim under ice. He swam 7 meters beneath the surface in freezing darkness, proving he wasn't just talking about cold exposure but could actually do it.

Man, '99, I got acquainted with television. Billy Brooks, freaking, who was a reporter and a presenter of a show, challenged me. Then he found out I'm not full of shit. I'm the real deal. And he took me to all these challenges. Hey, Wim, can you swim under the ice in the night? In the darkness of Finland, in deep freezing temperatures. Are you able to do that? And I said, yes, I can do that. I did 7 meters under the ice, which was spectacular at that time.
