In this #AskWim YouTube segment, Wim Hof answers three personal‑preference questions. He explains that he loves music that comes from the heart, citing flamenco, Woodstock, and the Rolling Stones, and emphasizes learning music intuitively. He describes his eating routine as one meal a day after 6 p.m., largely plant‑based, driven by appetite and intermittent fasting practiced for 40 years, while also enjoying simple pasta dishes. He shares his affection for several animals, especially baby elephants, which he supports through fundraising, and mentions his chickens, turtles, goldfish, dog, and his young son, highlighting a deep emotional connection and a call for harmony with wildlife. The tone is informal, enthusiastic, and reflective, with a consistent message that experience, appetite, and love shape his choices.

Welcome back. Ask Wim. Wim is here. Right on. Okay, let's have it. Question: my favorite type of music. I know, I get the shivers of flamenco. Yes. Que bonita es la primavera. Still have to learn a lot. La primavera, oro y decolón. Cada una tiene su historia de la vida. El corazón abierto, el orgullo pasa. Something like that. And so, yes, flamenco I love. I love to learn and keep on learning. I never had a teacher. I teach what I hear, and I come across people, and then I take on the music. But, you know, Woodstock, great music. Rolling Stones, great music. Any music that comes out of the heart is my type of music. What is my favorite dish? My favorite dish is dependent on my appetite. So what I do is eating once a day after 6 o'clock. When I'm full of appetite, I really like to eat anything. But most of the time it's vegetarian and once a day. Remember, once a day with big appetite. What happens when you have a big appetite? Your eyes become bigger. Your overall sense becomes bigger. You want food. You only see food. You go and you are more alert. Your neurology is being trained. Stimulated through not eating. Nowadays they call it intermittent fasting, but I've been doing this for 40 years already. I felt it that way, and whenever I feel the appetite coming, I still have to go for 4 hours. Like at 2 o'clock in the afternoon, my appetite is really coming, and then I have to wait until 6 o'clock is when the neurology is being stimulated. Don't forget, what is my favorite? My favorite is to eat with appetite, whatever it is. In Dutch, we have this saying, it says, "Appetite or hunger makes a sour bean sweet." Raw beans sweet. It is. Think about it. How do you want your food? When I arrive at 6 o'clock in the evening and I get food, I see the food and I'm crazy. It's an experience. Food is an experience. Life is an experience. Make food life again. Then you understand what my favorite is. Besides of that, hey, they say carbohydrates are so wrong, but I love macaroni. The small little elbows with tomato fritto and a little bit of olive oil, salt, and the right moment— Ah, amazing. But in the end, it is appetite that makes digestible about any food. And let it mostly be plant-based because this world killing, killing, killing. I'm a little bit bored with that. Get your appetite done. Because then you are dealing with life, not with killing. Have a nice meal. What is my favorite animal? Actually, I have several. But if I see this cute little ridiculously moving little elephants, these baby elephants with these trunkies. And falling over. So crazy. It's, you know, it's filling my heart with joy and protection. And that's exactly what I'm doing right now. I'm into fundraising for elephants in Asia and Africa. And they need our protection. The most strongest animal in the world living on the land is the elephant. And we kill them. We make them extinct. Not with our arms and legs, but with our mind. We have to change our mind and become much more living in harmony with them. Love them. Because they are beautiful. They got beautiful sounds. They got ultrasonic beings. We know little of the real power of elephants. They represent The power of the earth. Giraffes I love, rhinoceros I love, but the elephants really, yeah, are there out there. By the way, I got two chickens here. They are Sylvia and Caroline, and they are the ladies, and they are lovely. Every time I see them walking away, I see their asses full of feathers and the rub, rub They are so busy and so strong. They are really the descendants of the dinosaurs. I can see it. They eat about anything. They love me and sometimes they pick me when I'm standing aside of them in my toe. Thinking, hey, that's a piece of a nice little insect. I can take that as a nice piece of meat. Yes, I love my turtles, my goldfish, my dog, and my little chickens. And besides of that, I love my son, which is also a member. So what is my favorite animal? Possibly, yeah, it's always the same thing. It's your own son, this ridiculous little being who's training me. Not even 2 years and he's already showing me how I have to train during the day. He is amazing. Amazing. Yes. Favorite animal? Elephant and my son. Yes. Thank you. If you have more questions, put them in the comments. I love questions and answers. I love it all. I love you.
