316_Userflow for UIUX Designers

Many users are completely confused while they're using their application for the very first time. More than 60% of the users are dropping off because the user flow for an application or a website is clearly not defined. More than 60 percentage of the drop off rate happens in the E commerce applications and SaaS based applications and dashboards because of not having the clarity for user journey and the user flow mapped carefully. All the designers are completely responsible for this percentage. More importantly, users frustration is going up because of the user flows is not clearly mapped and it has been reflected in the wireframes of the product and which is in turn replicated as a screens output for the users. How do you really correct this User flows? How do you make your users really happy? How do you make your users less cognitively loaded in order to accomplish their task when it comes to making the transaction or E commerce application, shopping cart and other thing. This is what you're going to learn in this podcast. More importantly, if you're someone who's very confused, opened up an application, waiting to do what needs to be done, having lot of thoughts and confusion, this is exactly not the fault of the user, it's exactly the fault of you as a designer. Welcome to this podcast guys. Thank you for staying tuning here. This is Designed for Change podcast and more importantly we are going to go on a 100 Day 100 Skills podcast episode and we are going to go on a full first of all, I divided my entire body into 14 different parts in order to record the content for all the designers with respect to each and every system water designers can really, really really go through. In fact, I've recorded this entire thing into 100 days and 100 days into 14 different weeks. The first week let's talk about skeletal, second week we'll talk about muscular, third is endocrine, fourth is cardiovascular, respiratory, digestive, excretory, immune and all the system till the end of December 31st. So by the time I'm recording this podcast it is September 23rd, 2025 and more importantly in this week I want to talk about the entire skeletal system of our body. In order to talk about the skeletal system of our body, the user flow is one of the very very very very important topic because many designers are completely missing out on this flow if they have to design a user flow journey. Okay, I hope you guys are liking this particular context of how we are using the human body to create the content with respect to learning UI UX in a more easier and simple way. Okay, now let's get into the topic Too many designers, especially beginners particularly focus on building screens, which is beautiful, pretty gradient, ambient animations, micro animations, everything. What they forget is design is not how it looks. Design is how it works. Steve Jobs always used to say that. And it exactly start with mapping out your user's flow in a more clearer way. See guys, user flow is a mapping. It's like drawing a Google map for your app. It shows like let's say how someone gets from a point A to point B and they reach the destination each and every step of the choice, what they make and what they think. And they are entirely detoured. In a proper clearer way, it answers what the users really want to start. It also gives them a clarity towards what action they have to take. It also gives them a decision what they really involved and what are the kind of endpoint they will reach and what are the kind of feedback they will get. This is exactly the core context of user flow. Okay, how to really map it? You take anyone application like gpay, phonepe, you take the product homepage login screen, making the transaction of the amount and the beneficiary putting the amount, choosing the password, clicking the enter and getting the confirmation after the payment is done. Let's say if the payment is failure, the payment has to come as a failure. So that it has to give you an option towards retry. So this is what is the exact user flow, which I've explained you in a more simpler and clearer way, which we are using it every single day. But what if the product is out of stock? What if the address is invalid, the beneficiary bank details is invalid. What if the payment repeatedly fails? This is what exactly the user flow comes in a simple picture because the user flows to design a simple product is not a big deal. Everybody can do it. But the point where AI cannot do is the humans has to really think about the possibilities what it can go wrong based on the system and the subsystem, what you built for your user. You design the alternate user flow. For what if the product is out of the stock, where it can lead to warehouse to find out the rank stock when it is coming, where it's to give you another payment link to make an advanced payment to get the new stock when it is updated. Where if the payment is repeatedly failing, notifying that the OTP is wrong, balance is missing something like an invalid beneficial number. So this is exactly where the user will get confirmation. Not frustrated not knowing what is really happening. So without mapping this user gets into big problem. That is why 70% of the cards get abandoned because of user flow completely missing particularly in e Commerce. Look at 70% is a big number for companies like Amazon and Flipkart. The numbers deals in crores and millions. Okay, so the solution is start creating every day every design with a proper flow mapped. You go to your user, do a primary research, start understanding their flow and what they really intended to do and what you are doing. Compare it with a very clearer way. Sketch the screens before you map it. Have the intention very clear before you start the interface design. Intent before interface. Underline this word and ask yourself Can I explain this task in few steps? Can I explain this task in a very very easy steps for the user to take a decision. What if my user having only one or two choice to decide instead of five to six choices, what if they drop off? What is the alternate user flow I can plan once you do it? Then you are becoming a problem solver and a product designer with the user experience in mind. If you cannot map it, you cannot design. I hope you must have got this podcast in a short crystal clear way. Click the link below to attend my next workshop on Sunday to also know how I put these learnings into building up a product and an application where you can create even more complex user flows and design an application which products and design user applications where people are going to love it and how the businesses is going to get more profitable in revenues and conversions. Using this simple user interface and user experience using which you can get even submitted the project in a very short span of time you can make the user even take a decision very faster. You can make the businesses move with a lot of revenues in a more faster way. If you learn the user flow carefully by then you are going to crack interviews because if your user flow is very clear you can explain your projects and case studies easily. If your user flow is very clear, you can explain and convince your stakeholders and your clients very easily in order to persuade them to get more projects. If your user flow is simple, your user is going to stay with you forever. You're going to make crores and lakhs and millions of profits in revenue using your product and app. If you want to know more about it and get deeper into it to implement it in an interview process to get hired, attend my 4 hours design verse workshop where I break down each and everything for you and give you the 3x salary strategy. Also how you can negotiate into the interview and recruitment to get more faster results in your design career. I wish you all the best. Thank you for staying tuning in this podcast.
