Glenelg Testimonial - Multi-Generational Home

A family built a multi-generational home in Glenelg with Enduro Builders using solar passive design. The project stayed on budget through CoConstruct tracking, and the finished house uses southern breezes for summer cooling while staying warm in winter, with a lift and wide doorways for accessibility.

We decided on a new build and we felt that it was the right thing to do was to use solar passive principles, and so we started looking around for someone that could deliver that, and we went to several architects, but we didn't get the result that we wanted. So discussing it with Enduro and realizing that Enduro are really the experts in delivering that and had much more knowledge than the other people we'd spoken to.
You seem to be more informed than anyone else we spoke to, yeah.
We were very happy with the way the project progressed once it had started. We were kept informed by fortnightly meetings with the site team, and we weren't here for very much of the build at all, so it was really good to have that input from them.
Making changes and variations wasn't at all difficult. We were lucky we didn't need to do a lot because the Enduro team had done some architectural work over our plans, and so everything was sort of clarified. So we felt if we needed to make a change, and we made a few, it wasn't a difficult process at all.
We sourced some products from interstate, and they were very good in helping us with the logistics to get them on site.
Probably the most enjoyable thing about working with Enduro was the fact that we didn't need We didn't need to have a great input or footprint on the whole build because they just had everything in hand. They had the right tradesmen and the right management, and so there's no stress at all during the build.
We were well informed of the budget. We had that set in place before the build started through the CoConstruct program. It was checked off at each stage so that we knew exactly where we were up to. We were always informed of what the end result was going to be. Any small warranty issues that came up have been dealt with very quickly.
It's almost like it's a passion of Jackson's to get any little problems done really quickly, so it's been good, yep.
We find that our builder's working really well. We'd done some research prior to designing this house And we knew that the breezes came from the south and we have good airflow through. It's beautiful in summer, but it's extremely warm in winter as well. We put a lift in because we wanted this house to be multi-generational, but also to serve us as we get older, and all of the doorways, passages are wide enough to take a wheelchair if that's needed in the future.
We were almost not here and everything was controlled, communication was perfect. We didn't need to even be here at any stage because they had it in control. It was a really well-run job.
I would say that anybody thinking of building now should be looking at solar passive principles and they should engage someone like Enduro Builders.
