I hear people say they are too old or not smart enough to “do AI”

Lisa, 60, survived stage-4 stomach cancer and decided to learn AI anyway. She calls it a "great equalizer" that doesn't require technical skills, and says the only barrier is deciding to start.
I'm here with my new friend Lisa from the Women of AI Retreat, and I have a question for you. Okay. What would you say if somebody said, I'm too old, I don't know technology, I've done things the same way for so long, why would I learn AI now?
I would absolutely say I get you because at 60, I, um, um, woke up— well, I was 59, and I woke up and I looked in the mirror, and I literally did not recognize who I saw. And I, um, basically said to myself, okay, I'm not going to go into 60 being any other way but fabulous. So I said to myself, okay, I'm going to start exfoliating, I'm going to drink green juice, I'm going to do all the things. Love it. Yeah. And I was ready. Yeah. 17 days later, I was diagnosed with stage 4 stomach cancer. Go through whole 10 months, all the things, and then I— thank goodness— was all clear. So I came back to that same era, and now I'm 60, and I said that same thing. Okay, now I'm 60, what am I going to do? This train has left the station with AI, and I was scared to death.
Yeah.
And I just literally had to jump in. I had no choice. And so what I would say to you is that probably for the only time in the rest of our life, this thing called AI has come along, and it truly is going to be the great equalizer. It meets you exactly where you are, with a, with a tech background, without a tech background. It meets you right where you are, and literally you can tell it to teach me what I don't know. So just, just jump in, just try. Get in some communities, get with some, you know, some, some other people, Chamber of Commerce, and just learn it. It's, it's, it's going to change your life.
Thank you so much. That was such a great answer. I'm so glad you're here healthy and using AI.
Girl, me too.
Yes.
