Robyn Anderson warns that AI tools can trap productive people in endless work cycles, stretching days to 12-15 hours. She suggests letting AI handle 80% of tasks while you spend 20% on new ideas, and checking every four hours to stay on track instead of drifting into busywork.

There's something that they don't tell you when you become AI savvy is that if you are a productive person, you're going to be more productive. And what that means is you will not only check off the things on your to-do list, but as you're doing them, you will come up with new ideas to improve whatever you're doing. And it puts you in this hamster wheel of work, and that is making this whole thing stupid because you are here to use AI to save time, and now you're sitting there working 12, 15 hours a day. So I want you to implement my 80/20 rule where you can use AI for 80% work, 20% new ideas and fun. And so what I want you to do is every 4 hours check in and say, am I working on something that's part of my original to-do list or have I gone off the deep end? Because many of you need a little check-in.
