In this tutorial Robyn Anderson walks viewers through creating a personal AI agent using Hermes, Obsidian, and various large language models (LLMs) such as Claude. She emphasizes the need to first understand the capabilities of each LLM before incorporating them into agents. The workflow begins with listing all desired agents, defining their content and connections, and then using Quad to generate a Markdown file for each agent. Next, she sets up Obsidian vaults on her computer—one for personal life (named after a Real Housewives character) and one for business—explaining how these vaults organize information. Hermes is then linked to the vaults and to the chosen LLMs, allowing the agents to read, write, and manage files within Obsidian. Robyn demonstrates the integrated system, highlighting its simplicity compared to more complex solutions, and ends with a call to follow her content and join her deeper community in Club Jam.

Welcome back to building AI agents and making it super simple. So this weekend I've been building my AI agents. I'm using Hermes. I'm using Obsidian and I'm using a variety of different large language models inside of them. I'm creating my personal AI agent today because I not only run a business, but I run a household. So come with me. I'm building my personal agent in Obsidian and Hermes this morning. First things first, you need to understand Claude and other large language models before you ever try to build an AI agent, because every LLM is being brought into the agent and you need to know what you use each one for. Another thing you have to do is get organized. And I know this looks like the opposite, but I want you to write down what all your AI agents are that you want to build, what they need to have for content and connections. From there, you go back into Quad and you tell it that you need it to make MD files for every single one of the AI agents that you just wrote out in your notebook. Then you need to get Obsidian. It's free and it lives on your computer. And what I like about it is that it actually continues to learn with you and you can connect it to your Hermes, to your Claude. And so it will continue to grow with all of your large language models and your agents that are creating content. Let me show you. So once you have Obsidian on your machine, you set up what are called vaults. I like to name mine after Real Housewives characters. So Caroline Manzo, who's the mom of all moms, She actually runs my personal life stuff. And then Sutton, just because she was the richest housewife that I know of, she runs my business. So this is what's inside of my vault for my business. I just, I just started setting this up today, but this is the one from my personal life. And then sitting on top is my Hermes agent, and this is where I can actually control what happens with all of the files in Obsidian in either vault. And then also bringing in my Claude or whatever I'm using to get the job done. This stuff is so important and it's literally changing the way that we work, and I just feel like all of these people are making it way more complicated than it is.
